Hmm. Homer was created and drawn by a guy named Matt. Also, substitute a 'g' for the 'c' in Lance, and you have Lange. Also, within a double-stranded DNA molecule, cytosine bases on one strand pair with guanine bases on the opposite strand (C-G). It all adds up. Welcome back to the 40, Lange!

Dammit.   Totally thought the wig would have thrown everyone off the trail.

Cool. I'm not sure what we're discussing at this point. If you think they're bringing Lange back to lead creative or something, swell.

On the aggressive thing, that's just weird. I'm constantly being told by my boss, by my wife, by posters here that I need to be less timid and more assertive when expressing my thoughts. I guess it's starting to work out.

You've definitely got that part worked out.   Maybe now focus on responding to what was actually said.   Once you can marry those two ideas, I'd say you've made it.

He was being nice in trying to tell you that there is no fucking way a creative director is going to be elevated into a GM role at Texas. Font expertise and cost to acquire acumen aren't going to be valued in the world of roster management and personnel evaluations and NIL cap strategy.

That's...that's a pretty aggressive response to something I didn't even imply.   I said he transitioned from a creative role at UT to a creative role + "Assistant Athletic Director" role at TCU (whatever that role entails).   If he's coming back to Texas, it makes sense that it's in the AAD or Player Personnel wheelhouse (not even top the top role...just in that department), as opposed to straight creative.   It's probably a promotion of some sort, but I didn't make a leap to GM (or AD or DPP or anything actually).

It's creative. He was the Creative Director for Texas Football until '22. Looks like they're bringing him back. Not recruiting related.

He took a position at TCU that had Assistant Athletics Director as part of his title (while also managing creative).   I don't know what AAD role is, but I wonder if it's a transition into that world and not just creative.   Regardless, if it's just creative, he's one of the best.

"Hi" is the nickname of H.I. McDonough, the main character from Raising Arizona

Arizona became a state on Valentine's Day, 1912 when William Howard Taft was President.

Later in life, Taft was nominated to be the 10th Chief Justice of the United States by Warren G. Harding

Warren G's hit song "Regulate" sampled the classic "I Keep Forgettin'" by Michael McDonald

Michael McDonald sang backup for Kenny Loggins, who famously sang "Danger Zone" for the Top Gun soundtrack starring Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise starred with Demi Moore in a Few Good Men, with most people defining "few" numerically as 3

    Guys, it's Trey Moore.

Dammit it was right in front of our face the whole time

Muhammad was always going to be a wild ride. That one was more like "Texas is the leader on the day he wanted to commit" versus "he's committing to go to Texas".

Hold on to your butts, because we've got several other commits that match that description as well. Including some top favorites of this thread.

What's the point in committing when they do for these guys?    I don't understand the benefit of committing early, and then continuing to OV.   Is there something I'm missing?

Early commits is a cool idea, but I pretty much take them all with a grain of salt until signing day.
