that's not a skillset that teams or play callers actually have. they aren't out here holding the good plays back to unleash them at the perfect moment - especially when you guys have been in 7 games decided by <7 points this season and 4 in a row.
Grubb and DeBoer aren't waiting to call the touchdown play man, come on!
winners win

Ah man. I'm from Washington. I love UW. But that's not a good look to be buddied up next to us.
anyone telling you Washington is a blue blood is a homer, Washington is not a blue blood

don't think he walked into a sack the last two games. but yes if the Texas offense of mid-season shows up, Texas is in a world of hurt unless the Texas defense somehow turns this into a 24-17 // 27-24 type game.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see that kind of score. Its in line with a lot of our games. Uw doesnt always win big, they just seem to win.

Utah needed a miracle to beat Baylor.
Utah needed a miracle.......to beat Baylor.
Utah.......needed........a miracle. To beat Baylor.
That's who UW struggled to beat at home.
means nothing. transitive property and models are almost meaningless to apply to washington because penix has the ability to make throws and flip the field on any given play unlike anyone else. It’s why washington breaks all the pate models and shit like that. Washington is always one snap away from scoring anywhere on the field, always.

Any worries about his recruiting? Obviously he can coach 'em up once he's got them in the program, but the class looks a bit yikes.
He leans on the portal for now. 2025 class is where he needs to start doing better or at least cashing in on losing 2 games over 2 years. He has said he wont pursue an A&M or Oregon style NIL so i think his style will be a mixture of portal and high school. We can be worried if we aren’t competing for the better 2025 high school talent

Argue with this man @JBJ
we throw screens, they are not our strength. Our strengths are deep and intermediate balls. Oregon leans on the screen game. The one screen we do go to from time to time is more of a tunnel to odunze, probably not the kind most are thinking of.

Our D against the screen game has been surprisingly solid under PK. Used to be missed tackles and whifs, drove me crazy. If that’s UW’s best weapon we should be okay.
That’s oregon you are thinking of

Is worry more about when Pete Carroll hangs it up.
He seems more like a Petersen wants to mold young men guy but it’s a possibility.

How long will Deboer be there? Washington is a nice program, but it's clearly a stepping stone.
depends on how serious we are about football. allegedly the extension and raise have been signed but I’ll believe it when I see an announcement. Michigan is the only school I would worry about

Right now Sark’s offensive analysts are breaking down every snap of UW’s ‘23 season. By Jan. 1, Sark is going to know what Chuckles Morrell is going to call before he does.
(See Kerry Coombs and Bryan Nardo)uw is not getting enough credit going 13-0 with the kids coaching themselves

Lol UW ran for 125 on 3.8 ypc against Utah. At home.
First game against UO they ran for 99 on 4.3 ypc.
Second game against UO they ran for 157 on 4.2 ypc.
Those are totally middling numbers in the 3 games they played against a D worth a shit. And then there was the 13 yards on 13 carries against a shitty ASU team.
UW isn't beating Texas on the ground. They're going to have to air it out from the jump. It may or may not work, but they're gonna need something to work because Texas with a month of prep is going to put points on the board.
It’s sad that Texas gets a month to prep but Washington doesn’t. That rule needs to be evaluated imo.

WE shall see. Trice vs Banks will be an important match-up. Even with Trice's play, Washington is dead last in sacks in the Pac 10. That number is actually worse than it appears. Washington is the only defense to see over 500 passing attempts. They have seen 97 more passing attempts than the average Pac 10 defense and still comfortable in last place in sacks.
Nobody is expecting the defense to win us the game lol. We know who we are, score as much as you can and then somehow the defense has been extremely good in the 4th quarter. We’ve had games where we literally didn’t stop anybody until the 4th quarter but it’s enough. The team can handle being scored on though, Oregon dropped 21 straight on them to go up and they still dominated the 4th. One of the X factors is Washington has faced every pressure and game scenario possible this year and hasn’t blinked. They are legit the most ice cold team I’ve seen in a while.
4 minutes ago, troph said:why? you don't even know the name of the edge rusher that's "all world" that sat out all season. your arguments are "Washington is good" and after information is provided "yeah, but Washington is better."
you really aren't adding much here. credit around here is earned, the hard way. right now you deserve the square root of jack shit and +2 rep shows it. I know you think we are a patsy bunch that can't take shit talking. no we don't suffer idiots, not even our own. bring value or don't it's up to you but don't come demanding shit from us. earn it.
His name is Zach Durfee who gives a fuck he hasn’t played a snap

The game may simply come down to which defense can make the QB uncomfortable
Washington is great in pass pro.. They have allowed a sack every 44 attempts. They will face a Texas defense that gets a sack every 14.5 attempts.. Something has to give there.. strength on strenght
TExas gives up a sack every 16.6 attempts.. Not great.. Washington is pretty bad at getting sacks.. they get a sack every 26.9 attempts.. Weakness on Weakness
We have some edge kid that has been ruled ineligible all year coming eligible for the playoff. He’s never played a snap so im not going to crown him but he’s the all-practice “wait till this guy is allowed to play” champ so it should at least be interesting I guess.

That will be a good match-up.. I am not sure how good the guards are for Washignton, but Trice is likely going against Banks. Banks is a projected 1st round OT in next year's draft.
We know who he is we all laughed at his oregon decommit lol. Washington’s line is very good but the strengths are the tackles and center. Guards are still good but I wouldn’t say elite. Probably need to slide some things around. Tackles and Center are extremely good.

Yeah I’m not saying Texas is bad here I’m just saying it’s not like Washington hasn’t been able to run effectively on another good run defense. I’m not coming out of left field here, I am from Houston and I live in Austin. I’ve seen both of these teams play all year and I don’t think many other people can say that. Washington is just way better than people think and lot of assumptions about them are just flat out wrong, I’ll leave it at that.
Also if they call holding trice is gonna get held every play too. I know that dude posted a PFF ranking to show sweat on there but it’s funny there is a Washington guy right above him.

You are correct.
Though I am intrigued about Sweat and Murphy playing in a game where the refs potentially just won't allow them to be tackled by their jerseys all game. The Big 12 just doesn't call holding in order to pump up offensive stats so it is exciting when we get another conference's refs.

I'm not normally one to get dragged into petty spit-wad fights, but now you're just begging me to ask: If these coaches "failed" at UW but were successful elsewhere, were the coaches themselves the actual problem?
PK didn’t fail we love PK.

I see Oregon besting Texas at almost every yardage here. Washington beat them twice.
