It’s probably a little more complicated than that

    Almost certainly.

I'm sure that our continued improvement in cancer mortality rates can lead to high cancer rates since being "cured" of cancer at 55 creates the scenario of some people to have a different cancer later in life.

This could be part of the gross numbers, but the novel trend is more young people getting cancer.

I think the report was noting a rise in cancer rates among younger people.  My hypothesis is that it's a combination of 1) much, much better diagnostics (especially for slow-growing cancers that may not show symptoms for years, like prostate cancer) and 2) yes, more carcinogens being in and around our food, air, and water.

And yes, the OVERALL cancer rate of society is definitely influenced by longer life spans.  Live long enough, you'll get cancer.  When people were dying at age 45, cancer was a much smaller player in the "cause of death" arena.

If you forced me to make some kind of total speculative guess I would say some food additives or even microplastics could be at play. It would also be wrong to totally dismiss one elephant in the room as a possible contributing factor. The immune system is your primary defense against cancer cells early on.

    Indeed they are, dumbfuck.

Ok, that’s what I figured. So why did they drop the Covid vaccine mandate?

They simply must, it’s the only place that deductive reasoning takes you.

ok, then why go asking the <1% of dumbasses that quit over a vaccine to come back?

What about the other 17 required vaccines?

I have no idea, are active duty military required to get flu shots? I think that’s what this is now most comparable to now, although still different.

Same politicians and military brass, more or less, changed the policy. Was that also politically motivated?

In a sense yes. Why would they care to ask the <1% back or change their discharge status?

Because they’re signaling to a significant portion of the population, that is/was politically motivated, that they made a mistake in kicking people out over it or forcing people to take it. It’s an attempt to mend fences in the midst of a recruiting shortfall. They must feel that this issue is a part of it.

That is troubling news.  I think most people can come to grips that we don't need to have as many kids as we used to, and that old people still die.  But it's the people in the middle having a significant uptick in mortality that is very disconcerting.  May have something to do with our dynamite health insurance system.

Yeah there needs to be research into what's causing and address that. Did the health care system just get worse in the last few years? I don't think it's predominantly a systemic issue.

Insurance companies will be where to watch how this unfolds. They care only about the numbers and the numbers don't lie. If the death rates don't come down, then premiums will have to be adjusted.
