If, and it's a big if, ND joins the B1G, I see Stanford joining with them at ND's request. I can't see any other PAC12 team being invited.

Johnny 'Football Coach?' - Manziel Teases a Return to Aggieland
Johnny 'Football' Manziel said that although he's done with pro football, he'd love to return to help the Aggies win a national title.
So in other words he's wanting to go back to the only place that ever liked him. Seems reasonable. Will be interesting to see how this plays out with Jimbo.
Johnny Manziel joining with Texas A&M and winning a true national title!
That would be ALMOST as painful to the Longhorns as Art Modell and the Baltimore Ravens winning their Super Bowl in 2000 was to Browns fans. Browns fans though felt the most pain.

FCS school Murry State in Kentucky has joined the Missouri Valley Football Conference starting 2023-24. They will be the 12th team. Their non-football sports will join the Missouri Valley Conference (not related to the MVFC) Gotta keep this thread relevant.

I really enjoyed the movie but can easily see how many people would not care for it. I never hated any character more then Cumberbatch's character, he deserved a slow death. But I love Cumberbatch the actor.

That will be noon Sunday (eastern time) and I'll be watching it.

I've lived with it most my life that I never think about it. Then someone bumped this thread and now it's all I can hear. Thanks!

I came down with Covid 2 days after Thanksgiving. I first noticed food tasted off and Sunday my taste and smell were gone. But the worst was the fatigue. It was like there is another level beyond fatigue I don't have a name for. Twice since I had Covid the fatigue his me again, like someone pulled a plug and I could feel all the energy drain out. Last time was January 2 we were just leaving a restaurant and I could feel it. Canceled our plans and went home, got on the recliner for the rest of the day without moving. Took the next day to recover. That stuff is just Wicked!

The Cleveland Indians finally changed their name to the Guardians, but there is already a team called the Cleveland Guardians. A mens roller derby team has used that name for several years. I'm sure the baseball team checked and knew that. They filed a lawsuit in Federal Court claiming trademark infringement.
The Cleveland Indians and the roller derby team released a joint statement Tuesday morning, “The Cleveland Guardians Baseball Company, LLC and Guardians Roller Derby are pleased to announce an amicable resolution of the lawsuit filed by Guardians Roller Derby, whereby both organizations will continue to use the Guardians name.”
They don't say what the resolution was. Probably a set of four season tickets to
Indiangames. I mean Guardian BASEBALL games. -
I can understand MTSU being a southern state and their culture, wanting to stay, but those travel costs to New Mexico and Texas have to hurt. Kentucky on the other hand borders three MAC states, but I guess the answer is now no. The MAC has had 12 solid schools for a long time and want to keep it. No other league is as solid.

The Jazz started in New Orleans. The Lakers started in Minneapolis.
Not exactly difficult to look up. Franchises usually only change their name if they have to. The Jazz being in Utah is funny, but easily explainable. The Lakers are one of the most iconic sports teams in the world. I doubt they're torn up about how much sense their team name makes or not.
I KNOW where they originated! That was my point. And the Cardinals should go back to St. Louis and Chicago, their two previous homes. But you didn't know that. Not difficult to look up.
-
Actually a lot of Cleveland fans like the name, they know what it means, unlike the rest of the country.
- And no CARDINAL would survive a day in the Arizona desert, why did they bring that name along with the team?
- Like I can hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing JAZZ in Utah!
- Is there any LAKE within 100 miles of Los Angeles? It sure isn't the land of 1,000 lakes.
- And what the heck is a KRAKEN? Folk in Seattle might know. Or not.
After looking at that, Guardians is a pretty cool name.

I've had it as long as I can remember. So used to it I have to stop and listen to hear it. It can get annoying some times though. I'm paying off my wife's hearing aids this year. She has been hard of hearing in one ear since teens (we're 70 now). She tells me of all the birds she can hear that she never heard before. What birds? But I am thrilled at the joy she has listening to birds, I can wait to get my problem fixed.

This is why I love Indycar and not F1:
Lewis Hamilton says it would be impossible for someone like him to break into Formula 1 now, because the sport is a 'billionaire boys' club'
The seven-time World Championship winner also said that breaking into the sport nowadays from his working class background would be impossible. Of the sport's 20 current drivers, three - Lance Stroll, Nicholas Latifi, and Nikita Mazepin - are the sons of billionaires, while Max Verstappen and Mick Schumacher are both the sons of former F1 drivers.

We got our Pfizer #2 shot last week. Not only no effects, but I had to ask her when I will get it while she already gave me it while talking to me. Way to distract the patient.

I would say yes a month ago. I'm about 3/4 through his book/memoir "Greenlights". He doesn't seem to have a good grip on reality after reading it.

Much more enjoyable today. I’m honestly not sure what I’d say if you asked me if I’d rather have one the FA match or the PL match. But we’ve had a nice little PL run.
As much as I would love the FA run and title continue, I think Premier League wins are much more important and we need each win.

San Francisco 49'ers increase ownership in Leeds United to 37%. They will be more involved in the decision-making process and day-to-day operations of the club moving forward, both in football and business operations as he has done for the 49ers

Maybe next year at this time, Urban will choose to take the Longhorn job. Just buyout Sarks contract then.

Arsenal are like a half step above Burnley in the “unwatchable” category for me. They play absolutely dreadful football these days.
They aren't playing as a team, just individuals. They remind me of my grandson's soccer team (he's 8 years old) if the ball comes near them they just kick it around till someone else gets it. Everton played as a team.

Maybe relegation would get Kroenke to sell the club. If so, then I’d be willing to take the pain to get that motherfucker the fuck out of our club.
The bottom 3 teams in the EPL have a combined 3 wins among them. As bad as Arsenal is this year, with 4 wins, relegation doesn't look likely.

I recall a few years ago Akron played some pretty good football.....now how shitty do you have to be as a -25.5 dog to Kent that is historically one of if not the worst D1-A program there ever was
Sounds like you are very familiar with Akron, as well as Kent. Akron had great teams in the '70's and 80's. Attended a game at the Rubber Bowl in the late 1970's championship with Nevada with 9 degree weather. And yes, Kent has always been one of the worst teams in the country. I am shocked how good they are this year.

The situation in Ohio is "deteriorating". Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Tuesday announced a nightly curfew in an attempt to slow the current surge in the coronavirus pandemic, starting at 10pm Thursday till 5am, lasting for 3 weeks.

You need to look at other figures as well....
California: 6.4% of population is black
Alabama: 26.7% black
Mississippi: 37.6% black
Georgia: 32.3 black
Texas: 12.8% black
So it looks as if the SEC and the U of Georgia especially are the racist school.
