  1. Am close to ditching Spectrum cable. Got a stupid question. When HuluLiveTV/YouTubeTV/whatever have local channels is the content truly what those channels carry? As in a Sunday broadcast of the Texans or Cowboys on the local station?

Yes. Your locals are based off of your zip code. We’ve lived in two different cities since switching to YTTV and never had any problems with the service.

  2. Hell yeah brother...damn EVAP systems.

When it rains it pours…got the kiddo taken care of and now my truck is showing codes.

2011 F150 - P4051 (Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch) and P4053 (Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch High). Sounds like I’m heading back down a rabbit hole.
  3. So it thought your gas cap was loose?

I guess so. Like I said, I hit the jackpot of employees and he was very familiar with the issue. He recommended using wd40 on that funnel that comes with Fords and jamming it in and out of the of the fill valve every once in a while too.
    Hell yeah brother...damn EVAP systems.

100%. Ridiculous amount of things that can be wrong.
  4. But sadly Lee Child did by bringing in his talent-less hack of a brother.

True. The last several have definitely been a step down. All of the stories are practically the same concept but there has been a definite change with Andrew Child writing them.
  5. Starting 2024 off with a bang before going to the moon:

My throwaway account - AZFL, THBD, INND, DVLP, and GNCP - all down 99%

HMBL - got caught with my pants down and it crashed hard before I could sell it.

UUUU and IBRX - just waiting for the fuse to be lit.

  6. Suggestions for an outdoor TV? Build a wooden case for it with a fabric flap over the front?

My concern is humidity & of course a case & canvas-y flap will assist in dust mitigation.

Would be under cover (metal carport), still thinking humidity is an issue.

Hoping to get a pawn shop 50" or more.

I’ve had one outside for 5ish years. I wrap it in a tarp and secure it with bungee cords and haven’t had any issues with it.

  7. We were pushing $300 with Directv when we left several years back. We had 4 DVRS in various rooms of the house and I can’t even remember what package we had.

We now use AT&T internet, YoutubeTV, and have various streaming services, Max is free with our AT&T cell phones, we have Netflix and Amazon Prime (not much that we watch on it though) and randomly sign up/cancel Disney, Paramount, and Apple if there is something that we want to watch.

    $60ish for Internet
    $80ish for YouTubeTV
Depends on the streaming services for the rest so it’s still much cheaper for us than going back.

  8. I'm completely ignorant on cord cutting. I've always just said screw it and paid my ever increasing satellite bill. Well, now that my agreement is about to end, and having to watch spending more closely due to being unemployed for 2 FUCKING YEARS, it's time to get educated. We have a 75" Samsung Smart TV. Do you have to have internet with Fire Sticks or other similar devices etc?

You need internet and have several options:

1 - your TV is a Smart TV so it has built in apps on it.

2 - you can buy an external device (Roku, firestick, etc) and use that.

In my experience, buying an external device is easier to use and doesn’t get as clunky as using the built in apps on the TV, although they will both work in their own way.

There are a ton of free apps that are out there (Pluto, Tubi, etc) that have movies and tv shows. Similar to a cell phone, there are different apps you can download and navigate through.

You can pay for a service (we have YouTubeTV but there’s also Hulu and other options). We pay $80 or so for YouTubeTV and it works on all the TVs in the house and can be watched by multiple people at the same time. For sports and things you’ll more than likely need one of these services. You can also use an antenna for local channels but that is another conversation.
  9. The P1450 is pointing to a problem in the EVAP (emission control/recovery) System. This code states there is too much vacuum in the system. This can be due to a few different causes. This can be; a faulty Purge Solenoid, a clogged EVAP Canister, a faulty Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (very common), or a faulty Vent Solenoid. No matter what the root of the problem is, this is an EVAP system issue. The EVAP system is strictly for emissions and will not cause any engine performance or reliability concerns. So, the vehicle is perfectly safe to drive until you can get it in for service.

I would Ohm out the fuel tank pressure sensor, if that is out of range you have your answer.

If I don't know the range or can't find it, I ohm out the current part, drive down the road to Oreillys and they let me ohm a new one.

I’m guessing I’ll have to drop the tank for this one?
  10. Daughters car has been throwing this code that says “Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum” and anytime we put gas (doesn’t matter if it’s one gallon or fill it up) the car has problems starting and takes a few cranks. Once it starts it sputters for a few seconds and then it’s fine. There are no other issues at all until we put gas in again.

All the stuff I’ve seen online says to replace the purge valve, which we have, we’ve cleaned the fill valve, and checked underneath for crimped or damaged hoses and found nothing. Any other suggestions?

  11. As a lurker to this thread, I am just curious how much money you guys have tied up in these little adventures. 100, 1k, 10k, 100k?
I can't tell if you guys have rapper with money in these stocks or $50 total.

I’ve got about 7k invested in:

AZFL, GNCP, DVLP, INND, and NECA

    Currently down 97.81% overall.

However, NECA, now NECAD, did a reverse split and will soon be going to the moon.

  12. the olds across the street from me installed a video doorbell a few months ago. it is incredibly loud and sensitive. if i walk out my front door i hear "HELLO, YOU ARE BEING RECORDED" blasting from the front porch across the street. this happens every time a person walks by in the street, a car goes by, etc...they must be deaf as fuck for it to not drive them absolutely crazy.

    We must share old neighbors.
