This is the bar I grew up using to build fence. The heavy end does a great job of busting limestone at the bottom of the hole and the little end does a good job tamping.

We called it a rock bar. I have lost several of them over the years but my Santa Fe RR buddies always have them to give away.

  2. Seems as though the IMSA team is taking cues from the Indy folks.

The No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 has been disqualified from Wednesday evening's Le Mans 24 Hours qualifying session for failing to meet the minimum weight in post-qualifying technical inspection.

ETA: I have been a Penske fan going all the way back to Rick Mears but JFC, this is beyond stupid.

This. A few months ago I discovered a small bump on my left eyelid. Had my annual dermatologist screening at that time & she referred me to an ophthalmologist. Turns out it's a backed up lubricating gland.

Did antibiotics, ointment & warm compresses for 2 weeks. All that resulted in was the doxycycline knocking down my immune system (which is formally mutant-level strong) so I picked up a head cold. Next step is a procedure next Thurs where they're gonna unblock it. Sounds like they're lancing a zit over my eye.

My office mate had that done a couple of weeks ago. Sounded like a pretty simple procedure and he came back to work right after it. Hopefully yours will go as smooth. I have RA so my immune system is jacked up. The eye doc put me on a twice daily dose of antibiotics to get this under control. It seems to be working. He liked what he saw yesterday.

I have a persistent cough that my rheumatologist is concerned about. I'm going to get a CT scan and pulmonary function tests done in July to see if they can rule out Rheumatoid Lung disease. I was hospitalized with pneumonia 25 years ago and grew up breathing lots of second hand smoke so I could have any number of things  bothering my lungs. No need to stress about it just yet.

    But I still will.

Yep.  Looks like a juvenile Western ratsnake.

My daughter just finished a semester of herpetology at Texas St. She says it is a Great Plains Rat Snake. Apparently, the dark band across the nose is the telltale sign. 9 out of  10 snakes we see around here are Rat Snakes of one variety or another. Pretty safe guess whenever a snek shows itself. My best friend's wife sent me the picture and asked if it was a good snek or bad. I told her it was good so she picked it up and carried it across the road and released it in a pasture. He would have put on a hazmat suit and welding gloves before he would have touched it😄.

yeah I got lazy on that one - kinda funny when you think about the topic.  but learn an instrument, learn a language, learn a hobby, keep working, if you retire find something to replace the mental energy. learning and being productive is huge.

I'm 73 and still working for this very reason. There are other reasons, of course, but keeping my mind active is the primary one. My mother was afflicted with Alzheimers for that last 10 years of her life and it was horrible to watch it slowly turn her into a potted plant. Every morning I do Wordle, Quordle, Octordle, Waffle and Blossom with all of their variants before I start my workday. My job is technologically challenging and I actually look forward to going in to work. I do need to improve my nutrition habits. a lot of the dietary suggestions here seem like things I should get onboard with.

Several churches in the area maintain apartments for short-term rental to Medical Center patients. During our year at MDA we stayed at an apartment sponsored by Palmer Memorial Episcopal. Pretty nice setup less than 10 minutes from MDA

Dunno what their pet policy would be, though...

As long as the animal will accept the Lord....

It shoulda been Massey but, honestly, there are 3-4 good choices for demotion or release. I hope he's ready.

  8. I think Massey has this week and then he is down to Omaha. The FO doesn’t knee jerk much. This could be the last move until after the ASB. Cags to the rescue.

Looks like Devanney is on the radar, but Biggio just got sent to Omaha, and replaced by Rave.

Had to be a lefty hitter.  JJ and Q love the LRLR lineup. I shoulda known better.

Interesting. Our other issues had more of my attention, but that’s not a bad idea. I wonder if that’s why Massey’s been in left a few times with India at 2nd in the last week or two.

Looks like Jac is excelling in Omaha, after the bump up from NW Arky. Not sure how much longer he’ll need, but he seems to be getting close.

2 hits yesterday still left him in the bottom 5 WRC+ of all AL hitters.

    - MJ: AAA
    - Hunter: DFA
    - Biggio: better be soon

    Who’s your 4th?

(note, not taking bullpen into account)

Canha? (I think he’s ok as a backup for now, but we can do better.)

Waters? (I kinda like Drew. He’s not super refined, but he’s played hard in the field, is hitting ok and improving.)

Saw the Bananas tonight, and had fan duel running on my phone. Couple people looked at me weird a few times when the stadium wasn’t making a play, but the Royals were.

Massey. Option him to Omaha and bring up Devanney.
