Sewing Circle LLC is getting acquired by Petro-conjecture. You didn’t hear that from me, but my bro over at Clucking Hen ServCo told me. He does a lot of work for them. A lot.

Can confirm that Gossip Securities has been mandated as the exclusive financial advisors to the seller.

  2. Let's get this thread going again.

Private DoublePoint Energy, backed by Apollo, GSO, Magnetar, and Quantum is reportedly on the market.  Rumored asking price is $5.0bn.  DoublePoint would join EnCap backed Felix Energy II and family owned Endeavor Energy Resources as the most substantial private Permian players up for sale.

CNX, XEC, and CDEV each raised $500mm through debt offerings.

It will be interesting to see what happens with QEP.  They have a $8.75 per share (~16% premium to current trading price) offer on the table from Elliott Management, but it looks like management would rather sell off their Bakken and Permian assets separately to  different strategics.  The termination of the NGP backed SPAC, Vantage Energy's acquisition of QEP's Bakken assets for $1.65bn probably throws a wrench into that.

The hilarious part is that turning the place into a diploma mill coupled with the fact that ALL of them hire ONLY aggies means that the actual aggie workforce will continually become more stupid, which means the chances of them actually becoming involved in politics or lobbying becomes less possible over time.

Serious question: does anyone actually know who the most renowned and revered aggie alums are? I know they latch on to GHWB, but he didn't actually graduate from there, right?

Bush went to Yale. His library just happens to be on the aggy campus.

Pretty sure the story was that kid went rogue on his OV and spent the evening with his uncle at the strip club.  Then was "invited" by Charlie to decommit the next day.

Also pretty sure he didn't ever actually qualify.

According to 247, he spent his redshirt year at Okie St. before transferring to JuCo, so probably did qualify.

If dime is six "DBs" in pass coverage, I wonder what seven would be. That variation is intriguing because Foster could fall back to into pass coverage while, Overshown could spy the QB.

NSIAP, but why is Oregon rated #5, ahead of OU at #6 and Texas at #9?  All have 22 committed/signed:

    UO  90.97  1-5* 11-4* 10-3*

    OUsucks  91.13  2-5* 12-4* 8-3*

    Texas!  90.90  0-5* 13-4* 9-3*

I know there are Brownie points for 5* players, but OU has 2 and both Texas and OU have more 4* players.

Regardless of the answer, this is one reason why I don’t worry too much about ranking as long as needs are being met.

Players at the top of the class are weighted more, and they have Thibodeaux

He's actually put a lot of work into this. Even though his classes are in reality more OOS-based than Strong's, Tom (and Shipley, Meekins, et al) has made them feel warm and fuzzy and valued.

It's all about knowing how to play the game.

I understand the concept. What I don't understand is how anyone thinks it's a good idea. At least with the Kiffin and Sark hires, you could point to recruiting chops and guys that at least understood the college football landscape.

Because USC always hires "USC Guys" (except for Carroll).

There is a tsunami of private equity backed E&Ps in the Permian that are looking for an exit in the next couple of years, and the process just repeats.  Medium fish eat small fish, and big fish eat medium fish.  This will continue until all the decent acreage is consolidated into ten or so companies.

The number of sizable privates in the Permian is much smaller than it used to be.  Now corporate consolidation is beginning.

Lots of consolidation going on.  Wonder if these companies will end up getting bought 18-24 mos down the road.

Some of them will be.  I'd bet all of the Permian players not named CXO, PXD, and FANG get bought.
