I mean I figure he could get called for 3 seconds several times every game but there’s nothing particularly egregious about that clip.

My god UConn got it rolling. Not sure I’ve ever seen a 30-0 run. Illinois had the dumbest offensive game plan coming into this one.
-
UNC’s crunch time offense made Playoff James Harden blush.

I’m confident in declaring the Rockies as done for the year. What a disgrace of a franchise.

When was the last time all 1 and 2 seeds made the Sweet Sixteen? Maybe it happens often but I’m curious.

I wouldn’t run off either Hunter or Mitchell but Hunter has to play off the ball next year…

what are you talking about? “the master beat the apprentice”. that’s it. are you seeing some parenthetical phrase exalting the coaching job that barnes did tonight or something? you’re bending over backwards to warp a phrase that requires no extra interpretation.
You then went on to clarify that post by discussing just that, but here is the context of your post:
“tennessee missed a ton of bunnies and open looks, but their players were so much more disciplined and avoided taking the plethora of stupid shots that we did. we left their poor shooters unmanned on the perimeter and those guys never once considered shooting, instead opting for quick, decisive passes to keep the offense flowing. that’s coaching. the master beat the apprentice tonight, and the shot selection may be the biggest reason why.”
No parenthetical. That’s what you said, Tenn is disciplined, shot selection was better, that’s coaching, master > apprentice.
Yet Tenn is a bad shooting team from 3, kept hoisting them up instead of playing to their strengths, and kept a Texas team playing like shit in the game because of it. Texas open looks and Tenn open looks from three were even to my eyes. I’m already upthread on record as to why I thought we lost. But your post 100 percent states coaching mattered in this game. I just thought it was pretty shitty all around.

A well coached tennesse team wins tonight’s game by 15+ easily
I know I am automatically losing this argument on here by agreeing with Helo but yeah, this.

Your connotation suggests Rick worked circles around Terry tonight. I disagree.

He is the "master" because RT was his assistant. Try to catch up.
I’m aware of that fact. So do you think propping Barnes up on the premise is positive?
1 minute ago, shadow_operative said:“the master vs the apprentice”. there’s no editorializing there, that’s what this coaching matchup was.
See above.

so tennessee has a trash coach, had an important player in foul trouble all night, shot 33% from the field and 3-25 from deep, and rodney terry’s team…lost by four? that’s your argument to my post which criticized RT’s coaching job tonight?
You also called Rick Barnes “the master” so you might be biased.

Maybe?

He was physically overmatched. The stupid threes are on the coach.
I feel like the game was lost by all the stupid turnovers when their big man was out with fouls in the first half.
The late stuff felt forced but his first many looks were good shots. The missed layup late that Hunter couldn’t finish the putback was backbreaking.

- Disu sucked.
- Hunter sucked for 35 minutes and should’ve shot the ball coming off that screen with about 16 seconds left. So many dumbass turnovers.
- Our rebounding weakness showed at a bunch of key possessions in the second half.
- Weaver on the bench while Brock played down the stretch was dumb.
- We played fucking hard and could have easily been blown out. Terry can definitely motivate, I just think we were at a talent deficit in this game.
- My first point is why we lost.
-
Oregon’s been banged up all year. This Dante dude is healthy now and is a total difference maker in the middle.
-
No doubt the Wolves present the biggest matchup issue for Denver in the West.
-
That was a fluky game from McDaniels and it didn’t matter. Denver is real tough to beat in the last 6 minutes.
-
Askew just tried to throw a basketball into the ocean, but it hit the bottom of his boat, bounced up, hit him in the chin and knocked him unconscious, then landed on a nail on the deck and deflated.

What do you think.. we open at about a 5 pt favorite?
would have been 2-3 had CSU played anyone besides UVA tonight.
I think it’ll be less. 2-3 seems right.

Hell no. It's all about the portal now and Bennett's strategy is develop 4 year guys. He's just a bad fit now in the NIL/portal era.
Bennett doesn’t strike me as a Dabo. More like he doesn’t have any options where he is.
-
I think Bennett with Texas NIL would do work but that ship sailed.
-
CSU has zero answer for Disu. If he is ready to go we should be fine.
