But is it any worse than the area around Reckling?   I never felt unsafe as a younger man but I would not ask/expect my GF to walk with me in those areas to a game.

WTF? This area is probably one of the safest areas in the city.

The ctrl alt delete keystroke is there to prevent someone making an app to capture your login that mimics the actual login screen. From a basically security standpoint it should not be disabled.

ctrl-alt-del is obsolete these days. You can just hit the space bar and it's just a secure. Even more secure these days with Windows Hello

It sounds like he’s just being billfromlaketravis. Also, Cuchara isn’t texmex, is it? We used to work within walking distance of that place in Midtown right after it opened and before we sold our business. We excitedly went in for lunch at the new place after it opened a few times. I remember thinking “there’s no way this place makes it” because no one besides us was ever in there.

Not TexMex. I enjoy their brunch and it's always packed. Dinner is average, but still a good crowd.

    Phat Eatery is great.

Owner of Phat Eatery chef died of cancer a couple weeks ago. Seemed like a nice guy.

Last June I booked a trip to Israel for October.  It was obviously cancelled. United issued me a flight credit that has to be used before the end of June.  I have nowhere to go until at least August.  Is there anything at all I can fucking do or do I just lose the $1200?

Plenty of rounds trip flights to Europe

UH's defense is as good as ours was in 2019, at least. The Kenpom numbers are a bit behind but that doesn't tell the whole story. This might be Sampson's best team.

UH 2021 team was damn good team. Baylor was stacked that year.
UH 2022 team was very good until Marcus Sasser and Tramon Mark got injured. Still made it to the Elite Eight

    UH is fucking working Kansas.

I think this is a FF UH team and potentially a title winner. They are damn, damn good.

i thought the late season injuries would kill them, but they keep finding a way to win  However I wouldn't be surprised if someone knocks them out in round 32 or 16 of the tourney. They don't play as well on the road.

Right. I said it above but I don’t get the matter-of-fact “Astro for life”.

I’d love it but I don’t see him getting 953 hits in the next 6 years. So if 3,000 is a big deal to him, he’s going to need another deal.
maybe the Astros figure no way he’d walk away from a reasonable offer at that point but stranger things have happened.

Just play him at DH with a new contract and watch him play until the age of 45

Yep. I’m in favor of making areas more pedestrian friendly but the solution can’t be taking all 2 lanes roads to 1 lane, especially key traffic arteries.

is it too late to stop the shepherd/Durham project in dropping them to 3 lanes each?

3 lanes each will work. You don't need to go 50mph down Shepherd. Traffic will flow just fine.

11th was a bit much - one bike lane would work, but something needed to be done to slow down that traffic.

I don't have any experience with it rusting but I did put in an in-ground hoop and I will take every opportunity to post a picture of it because it rarely gets used so I need to get at least some mileage out of it.

Damn I wish I had that court when I was a kid. Would have had pickup games all week long.

  11. The Le Creuset Signature Cast Iron Everyday Pan for $179 will do everything you need, and will probably last past your lifetime. It's a braiser, a fry pan, you can bake with it, and it's a skillet. No seasoning needed and the enamel is nonstick over time. The only negative is it doesn't come with a lid. You can purchase one from Le Creuset for $40 or buy an aftermarket lid for ~$20.

I was debating on getting the Cast Iron Signature Braiser 3.5 qt, but the Everyday Pan does everything the braiser does (but not as deep) for half the price.
