At least Cam brought Blinn a national title.

Blinn is in Brenham, not Bryan/College Station.  It's owned by the people of Washington County.  They play their home games in Brenham ISD's stadium.  The Blinn in Bryan is a satellite campus and only exists because Brazos County is too cheap to build their own community college.  They had a private juco for a while, but that went bust.  Blinn stepped in to fill the gap temporarily while Brazos County was supposed to develop their own, but they never did.  Blinn was fine with it because they charge everyone on that campus "out of county" tuition and get more money from the state because they could count those students in enrollment.  So in short, no, aggyland cannot count any of the Blinn NCs or Scam Newton as their own.

  2. We've had flooding all around Washington County and a 10 year old girl was swept away by flood waters while walking home from school.  A Brenham Police Officer was also swept away while trying to rescue her, but they were able to get him out.  As of 9pm, the girl was still missing.  Very sad.

I grew up about 15 or 20 miles away as the crow flies from the Brenham salt dome explosion.  The explosion shook our house and made one of our interior doors close itself.

My college roommate's parents' house was just a couple of miles from the site.  Lucky for them, the hills in that area protected them from the brunt of the blast.  His mom told me that the walls on the house bowed in and then wobbled before settling back into place.  She also said it blew out decades of dust that she didn't know was there.  My dad and older brother both stepped outside of their respective workplaces to see the giant mushroom cloud.  As my dad was leaving his building there were ceiling tiles and all sorts of things that were mounted to the walls that were falling down like a scene in a movie.

This historically a bad week for shit happening. Deep water horizon was as well among others

The Brenham salt dome explosion that killed three and injured 21 others also happened 43 years ago last week.  There would've been a lot more victims if it had happened in a more populated area.  A worker from the oil & gas company responsible for the blast stopped a school bus full of kids from driving through the valley where the explosion happened just minutes before.

  5. Back in 1995 I was going North on 281 in downtown San Antonio almost to the I-10 West exit, but not in the exit lane.  At that point on the freeway, it's elevated because there are surface streets that cross underneath it.  I notice someone coming up on me way faster than what was safe in my rearview mirror and he jerks into the exit lane right before he's about to hit me.  My guess is that he was either trying to pass me or changed his mind about exiting because he tried zipping back into my lane in front of me.  He misjudged his speed and cashed into the retaining wall right at the "V" that divides the exit and other lanes, and popping right over the edge and down to the street below.  There was no way that I could stop or go back to render aid.  The next day I saw news footage of the wreck and his car looked like a crushed beer can.

I also saw a small plane crash into a field outside of the SA airport and the pilot died in that one too.

  6. Jeez.  Some of those idiots were penciling themselves into the Elite 8 and calling their season a complete failure if they don't.  Why?  They've won 3 more games and have only 4 less loses than a disappointing Texas team that's on the bubble.  They aren't anywhere near an upper tier team.  If they deserve a 4 seed, we deserve no less than a 6 seed.  It never, ever changes with those morons.

Were you looking on the Hulu app or the espn app?  It’ll only e available on the espn app with your Hulu tv credentials. They don’t add channels to the tv packages, even though they fucking should for the streaming services

Hell of a catch by aggy lf to keep it a 5 run margin.

I was on the ESPN App.  It just showed up in my listings now that the game is over.  WTF?

He was my coach in high school for a bit.  He was a bit ahead of his time trying to run the spread offense we see everywhere now in 1995.  Then he had sex with a student and got fired.

His dad was our OC my soph and jr years in high school in the mid 80s.  One day Bill Boy rolled up to visit one of our practices in a Cadillac convertible with the top down and his wife/girlfriend was wearing a big fur coat when it was about 80 degrees.  We were all like, "what the hell is going on here?"

I have one of those boxes somewhere in my memorabilia collection.  I packed it all away when I moved and haven't seen it since.  That was in 2003.

Holy shit!  I didn't realize that was her half sister.  I have a crazy, long distance (like really long distance) connection to all of this.  Robyn Lively was in Teen Witch with my buddy Lee.  He only had a small part in the movie, but he was on the movie poster and VHS cover.  His family actually owned my childhood home before my parents bought the house from his parents.  Sorry for the thread hijack, but it really is a small world.

But I said, “What about Breakfast at Tiffany’s?”

CSB, the band who sang that song, Deep Blue Something, played at my 21st birthday party at a buddy's house before they "hit it big".  I choose them because they were getting popular on the Texas college scene, so I knew that it would attract the sorority type girls and the plan worked.  I ended up hooking up with not one, but two that night.  Not at the same time though.  Good memories.

  12. That loss to KC was the death knell for the Oilers.  I remember after the game, people were burning their Oilers gear in small bonfires in the parking lot.  The fanbase started losing interest at that point because Bud Adams was crying for a new stadium, but wouldn't spend the money to put a championship level team on the field.  The fans pretty much threw up the double birds and Adams took the money and ran.  When the Oilers left, it felt like a member of my immediate family had died.  I've tried to love the Texans, but it's just never been the same.  I don't think it ever will.

Wow I had not seen the false start by the receiver. That should be what they’re bitching about, not the rules they don’t know.

It wasn't a false start.  He reacted to the UGA player jumping offsides.  If the defender moves offsides, any offensive player can "react" to it, and the penalty is on the defense.  It's unusual that he was so far from the offending player, but the rule still stands.

    Right.  That guy sucked.

Jack-hammer feet!  That was his too.  I actually appreciated his calls, because as annoying as he could be, he was always engaging and unbiased.  But over the top for sure.

The kid had 143 yards rushing (90 more yards rushing than the entire Texas backfield put together), 42 passing yards (one pass for a touchdown), and 99 receiving yards. That’s 284 yards of offense.  Just him. And he either ran or threw for every touchdown ASU made.

You are free to disagree.   Personally, I think the greatest play in the whole damn game was the fourth and forever touchdown pass in OT.    Folks can disagree for sure, but it is the farthest thing possible from a ‘bitch move’ or a slight at Texas. IMO

Winning a playoff game is always more valuable than balling out and losing.  That's the wholefucking point to playing playoff games.  Nobody is arguing that he didn't play great, but he wasn't the MVP because he lost and his season is over and his effort didn't impact that outcome.  That's not even worth arguing.  It was a bitch move.  Losers are losers and should always be treated accordingly.  He can be the All-Peach Bowl RB, but he was not the most valuable player, because HE FUCKING LOST.
