  1. Welp. Finally secured tickets for Burnley.  Which was not easy. Sitting in the south stand this time.

I logged in within 20 mins of the One Hotspur+ ticket window.  All gone.  Finally on Sunday/Monday the ticket exchange opened and finally found two together in the south stand.  But you can only buy one per member during the exchnage window.  Since its a sellout the window does not open to the public.  So my buddy and to buy a Spurs membership and I was able to buy a second.   Should be a great time at WHL 2.0

The apartment complex she picked is old(favors me, cuz I don't like huge increases in rent), and location, location, location....walk 2 blocks to some of the best Tex-Mex-Datapoint Tacqueira- I have ever eaten.

Hmm. There is a datapoint right outside my hood but nno apts within two blocks. You must be near the one on medical.  Lock your vehicle.  Just saying

  3. I can see how the off road would help your on road.  Just learning to deal with the unexpected.  We are definitely going to do the next MSF courses.  Appreciate all the input.  My son got his bike yesterday.  2018 KTM RC 390.  Needs a bit of work.  The fan is crapping out and its overheating.  We had to replace the battery yesterday.

Pretty happy with my gear choices so far but this stuff is addicting

    NBT Riding pants

    Shoei RF Helmet

Scorpion EXO Jacket and a Skilz riding shirt (both are highly armored)

Alpinestars riding sneakers and also a pair of winter boots but I cant remember the name

And a really nice pair of gloves

  4. Got not one but two biker salutes yesterday.  That made my day.

Btw.  Anyone use a seperate insurance company for their bikie?  I went with my current auto insurer Progressive.  I do have my mustang on a completely different policy with Hagerty and saved a ton.

  5. I am sending that to him.  I've also always wanted to do a tour in Viet Nam which is my favorite country in the world.  Knowing how to ride will definitely help my travel experiences.  I often find myself in places where a motorbike or scooter is the only way to get from A to B.  In Nicaragua I ended up riding a scooter while carrying a 20 lb back pack.

  6. So a little over a month in and I am absolutely loving this.  I've been riding BMX, ramps, road racing, mtn biking since I was 4 so I feel like my learning curve is flattened as far as balace and cornering etc but still lots to learn.  First few days it felt a tad scary going over 30.  Now I feel pretty comfy at 45-50.  Venturing further and further out of my neighborhood. (really need to go get that M on my license).  I get nastly looks from the people in the million homes neighborhood a few hoods over as I go round and round through their neighborhood.  Even ran a few grocery errands and took some stuff to baby momma house.  The one thing that I instantly notice is what everyone says.  Cars are dicks and oblivious.  Im at a stop light.  Why are you 2 feet from my rear?

Bonus is that I havea a buddy from HS that lives in CO.  He is involved in the production of major sports events like Olympics etc.  He is a adventure rider and we are planning on doing this next summer. By then I should be really comfortable riding.

  7. Odd that this popped up for me.  My son is graduating and turning 18 and hardly like to do much but did tell me he wants to go to Tokyo for their car culture.  So away we go this summer

Don't ever assume that a restaurant is serving local seafood.

Agreed.   The global fish market system allows you to have fresh fish (aka flash frozen) almost anywhere with a fairly major airport.  The idea that a restaurant is spending time and resources to get fish off the dock is probably pretty low.   The days of "distance from the coast" as a sign of fresh fish I think it pretty far gone these days.

Not sure how old this photo is, but ain't no way I'm eating shrimp bought on the side of the road for $2.50/lb in 2024.

Any trip back from Padre Island cerca 1980's saw my dad stop at every one of these damn vans for the best price for mediums and a few jumbos.  If we were lucky he'd pick one of us to leave the station wagon and watch the magic happen

  10. I know it's just opening up in the last year thanks to El Presidente locking up all the gang members.   My daughter is headed to England with baby momma to attend a soccer camp which happens to coincide with my sons 18th birthday.   So I'm taking him to El Salvador with me. My son is not a fan of the beach but ATVs, zip lining, volcanos etc he would enjoy. Anyone been esp since they've cleaned it up?

I get this, but the finance committee in my house may only ever approve one purchase, so I got to make it count

I'm lucky that I am the sole financial decision maker in my party of one.  As far as I can tell the used market is pretty strong supply wise.  The only reason I went new was I wanted the color.  Otherwise something used woudl have been just fine
