  1. One of the best investment you will make as a traveler is a good rain jacket.  Just take it everywhere.  If it rains, put it on and continue about your trip

  2. Don't not go because it's rainy season or green season.  Most of the time its sunny until about 4 and then it pours for the rest of the night.   Go do something like fish or raft and by the time you get back and get showered grab a bevarge and sit under a patio/balcony and watch it pour.  there is nothing more relaxing.  Of course sometimes the weather just sucks.  Its also cheaper and less crowds

  3. Leaving in the morning, trying not to stab anyone at work because people keep dropping last minute shit on me.
I say stab them and then fight the extradition from the beach sipping on imperials
  4. Parador is a tad cheaper so just throwing it out as a nice option. It has the public beach right at the bottom of the hill.  Its literally one cove over from Tulemar beach right? Be warned ifyou stumble goign down youre going to the bottom fast and the walk up is a workout.

And yes that road to parador is not to be done under the influence at all.  Wasnt sure if OP was renting a car or not>  Walking is preferable but if you want to get into town to hit a soda, go to the marina, MA Park, or shoot down to Uvita you;ll want to rent a car anyway.

@justhookit is the pro though. just throwing a few other options.  What did they ever do with Buena Vista down the hill?  google satallite tells me they built something next to it but it says closed.  That is prime real estate.

Tulemar resort in Manuel Antonio is probably my first and only choice for your situation

Parador is just behind Tulemar and it's pretty kid friendly.  Luckily they also have an adults only pool

  6. Headed back to Panana in early August.  Yes I know its rainy season but I dont mind.  Bringing my life long buddy with me.  We've been to Costa RIca, Chile and SE Asia together.  Need recs on Bocas del Toro.  Should we stay in Boca town? Somewhere else?  Anyone have a fishing guide in Bocas?

Yeah there is a good younger crowd bars and such. St Mary’s strip is kind of like dirty 6

Well this 34 aint doing young crowd bars.  I aint saying she's a gold digger but...

  8. Btw.  My comment about nightlife is probably pretty off because I'm 54. My 34 yr old date last night told me about 300 bars I've never heard of so maybe its bettter than I said.

And for the single dudes.  Despite the fact that there are a TON of tortas there is still plenty of hot ass to be found

All were good.  You will pay more than 50 cents, however.

Not if you stick to La Rue, Huda, or Ba ba ba 😀

I definitely remember paying .80 for La Rue in Hoi An back in 2017 and the dong is way lower now.  But yeah Im sure craft beer is going to be more.

  10. Depends on what you like to do. It's definitely not going to have the nightlife of Dallas or Austin but also we don't have the douche factor those cities have. Restaurant wise also not the best but unless you go out 3x a week you will have plenty of options. There is every cuisine available. Obviously if tex mex is your thing you'll be haspy as can be. Restaurant scene is improving massively.

Traffic is nothing except on 1604 with all the construction. Our rush hour is 5-6 where in Houston is 4-7. 2.5 hours from the beach. Rivers are close. Plenty of live music too.

Airport is well run and close. But direct flights arent great. No big deal. I fly united. 30 mins to IAH and then anywhere.

Overall very laid back city and one of the few unique cities

but even still that was an impressive price tag

Went there around New Years last year and even for someone who is pretty big spender I was pretty shocked at the bill.  Tremendous all around but damn

  12. Holy shit. I just saw the USD/VND.  You are going to live like a king.  26000 VND.  That's like 50 cents for a beer.  Edit its even cheaper than that.  More like 30 cents
