No shit? I didn't compare Texas to Harvard or Stanford.

The Southwest Conference was a den of iniquity. A shithole of cheaters paired with Texas and Rice. Kind of like what the SEC had become leading into NIL. Academically, UT, Rice, SMU and ATM (before they became a diploma mill) were all high quality institutions. The SEC doesn't have 4 schools on that level currently, at least until Texas arrives. The SEC has Vandy and UF and then you guys and ATM half-ass trying to be respectable.

Big 12 was a marriage of convenience. No one liked it and most Texas people hated it from day one. The academic reputation of the conference was dogshit and that remains deserved. Texas is glad to be leaving it, but it's not like SEC represents significantly greener pastures on the academic front.

As to the state? I don't know what you're asking. If you think the state of Texas has some sort of issue producing leaders in business, academia, or politics, I'm not really sure what you're looking at or how to help you.

Georgia and Mizzou tend to be nationally respected as well.

I enjoy her on Unnecessary Roughness. She's not that bad. Maybe this is because I only started watching this year, and she's been pretty aware that A&M is terrible.  She used to make really dumb claims about A&M not being little brother, but she doesn't really have crazy takes anymore.

She’s solid on a terrible show. When you compare her to the level of Brandon walker, that idiot Jack and the other girl, yeah I guess she’s decent, considering the imbeciles around her.

It's fine for us as fans of a team that is a "HAVE" (as opposed to a have not) to say screw you, Matt Rhule. But I think he's right in a more macro sense: the game is changing and we might not like where it ends up. I have my reservations even though I know the Longhorns will always have a place at the table.

Don’t take a job at a square State Farm school. You should know your restrictions this day and age

I obviously took it the other way, which could be my mistake. I suppose his next comment doesn't really clear it up either, depending on the point of view.

If Ewers comes back he's starting, to be clear on my opinion.

Yeah, I read your info above as you thought arch would leave if Quinn came back. I think Quinn is the better option next year but don’t want to risk losing arch.

It happens. I guess you don't keep up with the draft. Teams will gamble on upside

    2014 Jaylon Smith 2nd round

2019 Jeffrey Simmons tore his ACL in predraft workouts. Drafted 19th

2021 Caleb Farley drafted 21st overall despite extensive injury history

2022 Jamison Williams torn ACL in the SEC championship game. Drafted 22nd overall

None of those guys play RB and 3/4 were seen as much higher upside than brooks currently is

The only reasons Campbell wouldn't consider A&M is he's been an NFL lifer in the coaching ranks and he's got Detroit in a great place. The dude is a red ass Aggie.

Billy Liucci was on Andy Staples and mentioned his “ex roommate” Dan Campbell. First time I’d heard that connection

It's skewed by the fact that Quinn was the starter all the way through Fall practice (and likely Spring) so he was taking most of the first team reps leading into the season.  And his first game was against the University of Louisiana - Monroe.

Maalik had a week of practice with the first team before starting against BYU.  Granted BYU isn't great, but they're a hell of a lot better than ULM.

Again, and this is important, no one is saying Maalik should start over a healthy Quinn, but you can't just look at random stats without considering the differences in the situations.

Yes, Ewers is currently a much, much better QB than Maalik, but as @Steamboat1874 pointed out.  Maalik is 2-0, and that's really all that matters for the Longhorns.

Skip stats and go and watch the games. Night and day difference between the two. Malik thank you for your service but I pray we don’t have to watch him again.

I go to Austin, we go to Matt's El Rancho. Everybody loves it. Then, I come to the food and travel board on Surly and I'm told repeatedly that Matt's is the shittiest texmex in Austin and if you eat there, you're probably a carpetbagging know-nothing. Hopefully none of those experts see what you and I have written.

Hopefully everyone listens to the board tonight, I’m trying to go with a big group and would love to not wait 2hrs.
