  1. Lol...I am guessing disc nation is in Austin? That's a bit of a drive from TXK. Maybe a lil help on a beginner set on amazon? Something my 11 year old and I can use. Just family stuff.
As stated above, I haven't played in quite a while, but looking around on amazon, I'd get this plus another putter (everyone needs a putter, the others y'all can share)

INNOVA Disc Golf Starter Set - Colors May Vary 160-180g - DX Putter, Mid-Range, Driver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079581M7S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5b56Db0V7EAPJ

Inova is what I always preferred throwing and it's a good price for this set. Drivers are all different, and you just have to find what works for you. With three options, it's a good start. Your 11 year old likely won't benefit much from having an approach disc. It's not crucial by any means.

The only thing I'll say about the above set is that it's their lower end plastic. It won't break, but you'll get nicks in the sides, and eventually they'll fly differently than they did when new. However, they'll last for quite a while. Certainly long enough for you to know whether you like playing and develop a sense of what kind of disc you'll like.

Pay attention to the numbers on the top of the disc, and think about what you want differently if you were to upgrade (more speed, less curve, more weight, etc.) Their "star" plastic used to be the higher end discs, and they'd run about $15 per disc iirc. They seemingly last forever and are very durable. I've never retired any that I can remember (not willingly at least...) 15 at searight has claimed a few as its own.

  2. 7mo likes to throw his head around. A little situational awareness and use of reflexes and you can go all day without getting headbutted. Wife picks him up for 5 seconds and gets smashed in the cheekbone.
"This is why you're a worse driver than me."
    She was not amused.
This it's close to former home. My ex-wife works with special-needs kids, and would come home with knots on her head twice a week. She always said that they're so unpredictable, but she had three kids she was responsible for, wasn't allowed to hold any of them, and they were five.

She also totaled every car we ever owned.

  3. You should be able to buy a charger for about $10 on amazon. You should get a volt meter if you don't already have one just to make sure the battery is decent, or to know when it's time to replace.

Edit: Props on your yard. That's damn good looking for August.

  4. My fiance is from los alamos, and they've got a pretty solid little museum on the Manhattan project if you're ever in the area. It's a really interesting town with the national lab being there. Generally, you either have three masters degrees or else work at three different convenience stores.

  5. What kind of fucking grown up in the business world has no idea how to properly put together a meeting agenda or meeting minutes.  JFC it's like I am taking crazy pills.
Got a meeting request from an assistant in another department earlier this week. The calendar invite had a subject of "Meeting."

Made me ragey, but I passive aggressively just denied it without explanation. Fuck all the idiots.

  7. So I was told before by a poster friends don’t let friends buy a pelican before, but the new ones look nice and are around 5-600 bucks. Nothing on the used market right now that doesn’t require a substantial drive from North Texas. Sooooo
I was not a fan of mine, but maybe things have changed. Is it constructed in 1 piece? Any reviews you can find from someone who has owned one for a couple years?
  8. Yeah, I had the 12-foot Pescador several years back, and I didn't have that issue. The only times I did, I was carrying a case of beer, camping gear, Etc.

If you're just taking it out once or twice a month with your kids, I totally get it in going used. I think that's probably a good call, as long as you know what you're looking for. Having had a kayak previously, I'm guessing you do. Good luck brother

  9. It’s based on a 24 hour clock.

I can drive 11 hours and be on duty/working for 14 hours.
I have to take a 10 hour break before I can restart my daily clock.
How much do you have to plan in terms of where you'll stop fir the 10 hours? Id you were going to be in the middle of death valley for example, would you just say "fuck it" and pull over on the side of the road? Would you stop before your 11th hour of driving to be somewhere better off? Change the route?
