I think something overlooked with this roster is how good Helm is. He can catch the ball and IMO is actually a much better blocker than Sanders.

Helm is a dude and we should probably be running more two TE sets.

He whiffs a lot as a blocker

USC can get WRs open in space.

Oregon can get WRs open in space.

Washington can get WRs open in space.

LSU can get WRs open in space.

Everyone not named Texas can get WRs open in space.

Of course, they use all 3 thirds of the field and we only use the sideline to 5yds in.

And Ewers has reverted back to his poor footwork/throwing off his back foot garbage from last year.

He was clearly doing what he could to not get hit. We played it very safe because he’s hurt.

I feel like Iowa State is definitely our toughest opponent remaining and they are not good. They look fucking awful against Kansas.

You say this about everyone. Texas is marginally better which means Jack shit on the road.

I guess that's it, so too Wyoming, Rice, Baylor, and KU, because the D was looking like it had really turned the corner after getting the right personnel in the right places.

Still, I haven't had a lot of confidence in our secondary at all, and that's been shown to be correct.  Although we've been operating with some pretty significant injuries.  I didn't realize Barron was out today until the second half. I knew Watts was dubious and he's just one guy, but one decent CB can help a lot.  I knew Catalon was banged up, but didn't know he was out, too, although he's not much of a weapon against the pass.

The D is solid against backup QBs. Starters…..not so much

You're right that's a nebulous comment and I left it ambiguous because I was pissed off. I was also hammered. I'm not intentionally misleading people or being a cunt.

When I say "probably not good enough to win it" I mean not good enough to win a national championship. When I say "let's see what Arch has" I mean next season.

That said, like I've already clarified, I think this team with Quinn is good enough to win it this season.

You blame all your stupidity on being hammered. Maybe you’re just dumb?

  6. Everyone watches the QB and that’s fine. He was crazy nervous to start. He delivered later. They scouted our protection well and Sark mixed moments of absolute brilliance with too many moments of wtf.

But our defense was dreadful nearly all day. Every ball carrier fell forward. We were held all fucking day but Jaylon Ford watched the parade go by all day.

Unpopular opinion: While he is improving on the long ball, Quinn obviously still has trouble throwing deep. The two TDs to Worthy and Mitchell had the length but were very inaccurate and would have not been TDs if not for amazing catches/plays by the receiver.

hopefully he can keep the upward trajectory this week vs Wyoming

Those aren’t amazing plays by the WR. It’s called tracking the ball. When he led X last year he never went to get it.
