  1. You know Darren, if you would have told me twenty-five years ago that some day I’d be standing here about to solve the worlds energy problems, I would’ve said you’re crazy… Now let’s push this giant ball of oil out the window.

The book about Motley Crue (The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band) was disturbing as hell. It was a great read and entertaining but those are some fucked up dudes.

Well they would pool their money to buy a burrito to stick their dicks in to cover the smell of strange pussy so their girlfriends wouldn't know....so there's that. :)

  3. Prince Purple Rain tour

    Journey Escape tour

Hall and Oates about 1986. Just hit after hit after hit.

Kiss Destroyer tour. Ace accidentally got the shit shocked out of him by touching a handrail during the first song (Detroit Rock City). Concert was delayed for about a half hour while he recovered.

Led Zeppelin 1977 (I think) in the old Sombrero in Tampa. Not the best, but the only chance I ever got to see Zep. The show rained out after like 4 songs and a riot ensued. Good times!

  4. You don't understand. Johnny Fontane never gets that movie. That part is perfect for him. It'll make him a big star. I'm gonna run him out of the movies. And let me tell you why. Johnny Fontane ruined one of Woltz International's most valuable proteges. For three years we had her under contract, singing lessons, dancing lessons, acting lessons. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars. I was gonna make her a big star. And let me be even more frank, just to show you that I'm not a hard-hearted man, that it's not all dollars and cents. She was beautiful! She was young, she was innocent. She was the greatest piece of ass I've ever had, and I've had 'em all over the world. And then Johnny Fontaine comes along with his olive oil voice and guinea charm and she runs off. She threw it all away just to make me look ridiculous. And a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous. Now you get the hell out of here! And if that goomba tries any rough stuff, you tell him I ain't no bandleader. Yeah, I heard that story.

  5. Yeah, let's talk business, Mike. First of all, you're all done. The Corleone Family don't even have that kind of muscle anymore. The Godfather's sick, right? You're getting chased out of New York by Barzini and the other Families. What do you think is going on here? You think you can come to my hotel and take over? I talked to Barzini - I can make a deal with him, and still keep my hotel!

Great interview. The story Ace tells about grabbing a poorly grounded stair rail side stage and getting electricuted, I've read some where that that experience is what inspired the song "Shock Me".

I was at that show in Lakeland FL. Nobody in the crowd knew what the hell happened. They were playing Detroit Rock City and it fell apart instrument by instrument as they realized he was down. Roadies came and took him off stage and they made the announcement he had been shocked. They came back out and finished the show, but you could tell he was tentative as hell.

Kiss didn't get a lot of critical respect, but Deuce is a seriously great rock tune.

Also listening to some of these videos I'm reminded how things weren't absolutely perfect back in those days like they are now. That intro to Black Diamond, Paul's guitar is definitely out of tune. Never happen these days.
