  1. Haha awesome 7b4774c0952745c10803c5f08eb927a8.jpg

He was in austin a few weeks ago and tweeted out asking where to go for dinner. He ended up at Terry Blacks and tweeted out for folks to come meet him and he’d buy dinner. Some pics were posted with him there hanging with like 30 randos. Ha. Seems like a very chill man of the people.

  2. The one thing i will say is that I know that Deion is a very demanding coach who tries to create a very professional, NFL-like environment, as far as it's needed anyway (they are still kids after all). if spends Hunter spends one year at Jackson State learning from Deion and maturing, and then transfers to Bama or LSU or something then that is a pretty great deal. if he stays any more than one year then that gets dicey for me.

Sounds like you’re pretty cool with him wasting a year of his life competing against inferior talent while surrounded by scrub teammates after all.

  3. If being around the best staff and best teammates possible was the only input in the kid’s decision-making process as you seem to think it should be, he would have never committed to fucking FSU in the first place.

Most of life’s biggest decisions are made with a lot of varying inputs and reasons thrown in the mix. Pretending to know what another person should decide based on what you think is important when you actually know nothing about him is super gross.

  4. This is where I'm at.
And if JT/JS don't shit the bed, it's at least 6.5-1.5.  I recall at least 4-5 putts within 10-12 feet they missed.

    JT missed 5 putts within 9’. Jordo missed 1 7.5’er, and was 1 of 2 from 15-18’.

If JT putts decently, the morning session is 4-0.

  5. I don’t know what area you live in where BT sits on the shelf but it’s not in Texas. I can make five different stops in a day and I’m lucky if one has BT.

Slorch, go back and buy more. Immediately.

The store around the corner from my house in central Austin had no less than 2 cases of BT 3 days ago. Same as it did the week before and the week before that.

It is most definitely very available in Texas.

I’ve avoided this one like the plague as it’s my last bottle. Now I remember why. Good lord this is a vanilla bomb and dangerously smooth for 122 proof. If you can make the distillery this year for the release I highly encourage you to do so

Haven’t had that one, but have been curious how it is.

This one on on the other hand is straight turpentine. Kinda figured it would be with how little I paid for it.

Totally agree. Except for some people that have the proper setup and can do this.

Now this was not me mind you. But a gentleman did sell it to me for cost. He’s a decent SOB truth be known.

That’s fantastic. I’ve been the beneficiary of dumb luck on bottles that I should have never been able to get my hands on for msrp.

I found out that the manager of the store near my house was putting a single rare bottle on the shelf once or twice a week just before the ‘17 BTAC release. I stopped in almost every day.

Paid $88/ea for a WLW, GTS, and 2 THH all within a 4-6 week stretch. Also paid msrp for 2 ETLs and a Blantons shortly before the BTAC goldmine. I know a few guys on here got some great stuff from the same store during that time.

I’ve kinda given up the hunt for the scarce ones because I’ll never in my life top that run.

  8. In a world where you can get everything at MSRP, maybe it’s not worth that. But, we don’t live in that world. Looking at what $80 gets you in reality these days, it’s a damn fine deal. Super happy to have this in my collection.

I’ve been just as susceptible as the next guy, but there are few products out there that are subject to the scarcity effect more than bourbon, imo. $80 gets you some really, really great bourbon. But it doesn’t usually get you really great scarce bourbon.

Now, it could be so they can flip it or it could be to say “I got it” but I’d venture to guess that most (approaching all) people will pay a significant premium for the same quality bourbon compared to the readily available bottle simply because it’s scarce.
  9. and to add - to whomever asked about "how it works and who gets what" when stores order - the people i've spoken to, who work at these places, generally tell me that they don't "order" anymore.  the allocated bottles "come when they come", and they don't know until they get there (or don't).
your best bet is to find a place that knows what you're looking for, and hope to get on some sort of list where they can give you a shout or a text, and then be able to drop what you're doing, because you're likely not the only person on that list.  the ma and pa liquor stores will probably take a $20 and help your cause.  the grocery store chains i've been working on will not take my money.
i would do something nice for them, but typically that means bringing them a bottle of brown.  so i'm kinda stuck on this.

This seems like a lot of effort. For a lazier and possibly more rare option...

Marry someone who sends a shitload of orders through the retailers.

Everything south of pappy becomes available.
  10. With the amount of time left in the game, I have to believe it was a lot more likely that we could be outscored 2 scores to none (8+3) than 3 scores to none (7+3+3)

Bringing the tie into okay seemed dumb to me.

But then again, I had Texas -5.5...so, Thanks, Tom!

Wow. I probably average 30-31 putts per round. I couldn’t imagine 3 putting more than 2-3 times in a round. I’d lose my mind. Last year I averaged around 35 putts per round and I was pissed at myself.

I think strokes around the green is more telling. Is the guy who misses the green on most all of his approaches and gets to chip it close a better putter than the guy who hits a lot of GIRS but has a lot longer putts than guy #1?

  12. playing Kizer (Austin) this afternoon.  Game's been off the rocker lately so I have no idea what to expect.  I have no confidence with the driver right now and I'm fighting  a (big) 2-way miss.

Wear a condom. Kizer greens had full-blown aids a few weeks ago.
  13. That's the first time I've heard of Andalusia. I see they're loosely affiliated with Real Ale. Not surprising as Blanco is a really small town.
    Might be worth the stop.

Don’t know how far out they’ve made it, but they’ve been on the shelves of Austin TW’s for a while.
