  1. Brophy Bros in Santa Barbara is a nice stop along the way for some clam chowder and seafood.

Don’t miss the opportunity to pop over to morro bay and see morro rock. Cool little spot.

Montana de oro state park is also real pretty for hiking.

Should add that they don’t even have to go that far, they also have a canal from the Don to Volga and can connect to the Caspian. Some of the missile corvettes in the Black Sea now came from the Caspian Flotilla.

Last project I was on in Kazakhstan (oil and gas) we shipped our plant modules all the way to the Caspian from St Petersburg. The canal system is actually pretty neat.

that being said, fuck Russia and Putin.

  3. I live in Mobile Alabama now for the last year or so this is right in my backyard. I’ve seen a couple of folks mention Dauphin island. It is super chill, I drive there to go fishing on the regular. The water is semi clear and the sand is white. You can walk out a loooong ways on the west end and be next to nobody. Lots of folks go to dauphin island with their families.

Gulf Shores / Orange beach is where all the locals seem to take their beach days. They have a lot of concerts come through the wharf amphitheater and there’s ton of bars and restaurants down there. Floribama bar for example. This would be your spot with more nightlife and partying going on.

I saw fort Morgan mentioned, that would probably be the quieter side of things on the east bay. The water quality gets better East of mobile bay in general.

Leave on Thursday, come back on Sunday.  Dinners booked at Herbsaint, Saffron, and MaMou.  Will wing it for brunch/lunch.  Lots of day drinking to celebrate one year closer to 50.

I just booked saffron and mamou for the sugar bowl. Reviews please :)

LOL, my oldest is always bugging me to go to Golden Corral since it's a popular spot for his scout troop to go. I draw the line at Sirloin Stockade.

One time on a Boy Scout trip up to summer camp our scoutmaster had cut a deal with Golden Corral to provide breakfast lunch and dinner. Many of us scouts had explosive diarrhea for a solid 2-3 days after that little charade of a bus ride. And I’m talking about blowing your asshole out on those nice hole toilets in the middle of the woods. That was a real fuck. Haven’t been back to Golden Corral since. @Fondren & Main

Briggs and Riley.  Lifetime warranty and durable as hell.  I've used them (checked baggage) for years and do a lot of traveling.  Really good bags.

I had one I traveled the world for work with for five years. I’m talking literally circling the globe and third world airports kicking the shit out of it. It crapped out and they are sending me a new one under their warranty.

The pro move is to keep a roll of Charmin Ultra in a locked desk drawer.  Then you can silently announce your morning shit whilst humble bragging about your regularity, while just strolling to the John with your premium TP every morning.

Had a boss who would do this with baby wipes every morning. Lol. If you saw him with those wipes in his hand there was no doubt what he was up to.
