I was in the cheese and lunch meat area, and some 60ish year old woman leaned over the refrigerated ham case and hacked into her hand before rummaging around for the perfect ham. Then, as she pushed her cart away, she hacked right into her fucking hand again. I headed the opposite direction. No one else was close by.

I haven’t coughed into my hand for decades. It’s always into my elbow, or if I’m wearing something with a T-shirt collar, I’ll lift the collar over my mouf and cough under my shirt.

It’s a world full of damn Neanderthals, and that comes from someone who has between 1-2% Neanderthal DNA.

Anything thats been delivered or purchased and brought into my house has been wiped down with alcohol swabs or sprayed with diluted bleach spray.  Too many idiots out there to trust touching anything coming from stores right now.

Began feeling bad on Wednesday night.  Running fever by Thursday morning.  Fever ranged from 99-102 Thursday-Saturday.  Mild cough, but I’ve had an on/off cough since Xmas.  Fever finally went away for good today.  Feel much better now, but the last ew days weren’t very fun.  The respiratory element never got that bad, which makes me think it wasn’t Covid, but I’ll be chilling at home for a bit.

Seems pretty similar to mine minus the fever.  Did you have normal head cold symptoms?

  3. My youngest daughter (2yo) came down with cold symptoms on Monday and I woke up Tuesday with a scratchy throat.  Started popping zicams and giving her the quick melts for the first day and had doc appt scheduled the following day.  We both tested negative for flu (queue stress, anxiety and fucking panic)  Got in and out with some flonase, antibiotics for both, and steroids.  I've been taking zinc daily since Tuesday morning and outside of a little chest congestion and stuffy sinuses, the worst is past.  The first two days I had lots of anxiety which might have been causing the chest tightness and inability to sleep.  I also quit drinking for 3 days which likely caused the cold sweats I had the first two nights.  The first two days I was really tired and felt like shit, headache, sinuses, ears felt full but throughout the whole thing I didn't run a fever.   Another weird thing is I have only coughed maybe 10 times since Tuesday morning and its always a nasal drainage nasty wet cough.

Doc said there are still Type A flu and common cold cases coming in daily and the common cold is a motherfucker this year.  Said covid19 would be quick oncoming high fever, hoarse dry cough (the bad kind) and I wouldn't have lots of sinus congestion and runny nose like common colds. (covid19 chest vs common being head/chest cold) Its been almost six days and I feel fucking great.

MSMA. It is still available but even for those of us that can get it, there are restrictions on where it can be used; cotton fields, golf courses, and right of ways. The typical approach now is a low rate (.5% solution, .62oz/gal) of round up. Yeah it's going to leave a burn hole, bermudagrass will recover fairly quickly. In fact that's called the 'Bermuda release rate'. St A was not tolerant of MSMA anyhow.  There are two new products available, Manuscript and Tribute Total. Both of them are wildly expensive. Round up is cheap and effective. But you nailed it on the rhizomes. If there are latent bits that haven't emerged yet, a single application of anything is not going to get them. Most chemicals have to be applied to the foliage and in the case of dallisgrass you are likely to have stuff that will keep coming on for a while. In the best case you are going to get about 70% control the first time and then whittle down the rest over time. You can apply round up with a wick. Tie an old sock to the end of the spray wand and walla, you have redneck engineered a wick system. That's going to cut down on the overspray if you are down to a few persistent rhizomes among an otherwise clean turf.

I dont like to share the name.  Like people to do their own research lol.   Another option is to cut a 1 liter bottle (or two/three liter for crab) in half and place it over the weed.  Then put the sprayer inside and hit it a few times.  It'll localize the spray to perfect circle around the clump.

We have St Augustine and I have been sitting on a bucket and hand pulling the dallis grass or whatever it is but thus far it is winning. The granular seems to have kept the henbit away because some of my neighbors have it but I haven't a single plant, whew.

Dallis is almost impossible to control. I believe it spreads with rhyzomes under the soil.  There is a chem you can buy but I dont think it's legal for residential use.

it’s been mild af this winter and neither my front or backyard has gone fully dormant. am i good to start the annual scalping? i’m in austin.

also need to get control of clover. what can i use? i need names of shit i can get at home depot or lowe’s

Ive got the shit all over my yard and I did all my pre-em treatments.  It has just been a mild year with just enough rain.   The orange cap standard version of Weed-b-Gon will kill yellow nutsedge (or manage it) as well as clover, chickweeds, henbit, etc.  I usually do a spray and then come back and respray affected areas about 10 days later.  It works though.  There is a  purple capped version of Ortho Weed-b-Gon that also kills oxalis if you have any of that.

You can scalp your yard whenever, but your bermuda will still likely be partially or fully dormant until mid march.  I usually scalp once the soil temp ends up being right for bermuda to turn back on.

Well there really isn't a way to make a slide out of metal and match Glock dimensions and have it still cycle .22 LR with a straight blowback action.

Multiple companies have been making Glock 19 sized drop on 22LR kits for almost 20 years now.  Granted they use lightweight alloys like aluminum but still.

  8. Just FYI on the Glock 44 -

There are already multiple reports of cracked slide (the made it out of fuckin plastic) and firing out of battery, which causes the extractor to explode out of the plastic slide.   There are videos and pics all over the place about it.

Slight change of topic from ACOGs........

I've been bitten by two bugs recently (really 3) Savage 99 lever actions  and both the Winchester 1905 and 1907 autoloaders.

Scoured some auctions and picked up a few of each....some I'll keep and some I'll resell.

99's are in .300 savage, .303 savage, and 250-300 savage.

The 1905 is in .32 Win and the 1907 is in .351 Win.

Anybody got any of these as heirlooms or collect them?  99's have a bit of a cult following and I can now see why - fantastic feeling rifle.

1905 and 1907 make me think of prison guards, railroad security and bootlegger shootouts.  I tried to bid on one 1907 but it had a small plaque on the stock that said "Property of Folsom Prison" and an ID number.  That got pretty pricey.

My buddy has a Savage 99 in 308 that we keep out at the ranch.  They are great shooting guns.

Is there anybody other than hipoint that makes a pistol caliber carbine in that proce range?

20 years ago, PCCs that used Glock mags were hard to come by.  Nowadays, you can build an AR PCC or pistol for damn near what some people mark those Sub2000s up to.  There are tons of other manufacturers now making PCCs that might be a little more expensive, but are way better than the Sub2k.  I'd actually buy a HiPoint carbine over a Sub2k because they run like a sewing machine and if I accidentally broke it - I could call them up and they would take care of it faster than almost any other gun company on the market.

I loved mine so much I bought another one. The CMR is next on my list of gun purchases.

To be clear KT has re worked the PMR30 several times. Kervo says he got an early one. They received a lot of criticism.

So many of their guns have had QC issues, frames cracking, barrel issues, etc.  The problems with Keltec run much deeper than their shitty customer service and quality control.  Back to their early days as Grendel.

    - They are a plastic molding company first, and a gun manufacturer second.  Which means when they roll out a bad product, they can just blame it on the fact that they're not a gun manufacturer..  They can also use this excuse when they're limiting production/shipping on high demand guns in order to drive up the price/demand with retailers.

    - When their products are not working as intended, or their is a major bug overlooked - their CS department is a nightmare to deal with.  The've had issues with their PMRs, KSGs, RFBs, etc.  About the only thing they've ever made well is their P9/P11/P3ATs and their Sub carbines and even those are just really shoddy quality when you compare them to similarly priced guns made to compete with Keltec.  Like I said, they have a really great R&D team that dreams up some cool shit but the way they execute on it and support is horrendous.

Yea after looking at more videos, the GH100 and Aldebaran are different sizes with different internals. Other than the spool bearings which are the same through all reels, I don't know how you would source parts for the GH100. That makes it a pass for me. I'm sure fishing fresh water would be fine but fishing salt water may break the shit after a few trips.

To me the Aldebaran is one of Shimanos best designs if you're someone who wants the lightest setup you can get.  I have one on my NRX MXF and it is my favorite all around fishing combo of the 20 I own.   For regular saltwater use though,  where I'm mostly just casting and retrieving, I'm happy with a tuned Curado/Chronarch,  or  Tatula/Alphas SV.  The cost to performance ratio with the Aldebaran (at least imho) is just that it weighs 4.7oz.  My Alphas SV with the stock spool throws lighter baits better than the Aldebaran and the brake system is far superior on the Alphas for half the price.

    Interesting reel. GH100

This is a Chineses Shimano Aldebaran clone. However, instead of costing $420, it's only $60. It's even less expensive if you are willing to wait 3 weeks for shipping from Aliexpress. There are many videos on Youtube on this GH100 reel, with most all being very encouraging. Many videos showing that it casts great. A lot of Thai dudes fish with this as a BFS rig using L & and UL rods. I'm a die hard Shimano guy but may pull the trigger on this just to play with.

    Casting comparisons

GH100 pulling in a big ass catfish.

I've fished it after my buddy brought one to compare to my Aldy HG51.   They are almost identical, both very lightweight, and the only noticeable difference is it casts lighter lures better than mine.  Mine isn't a bfs model and doesn't have a BFS spool in it though.

As far as materials are concerned (body, spool, handle, etc) I doubt they are the same.  I have plenty of Chinese knockoff BFS reels and while they all cast great, you can tell they're made with dollar store plastic instead of alloys and carbon fiber.  I use them as beater reels for rods you bring out to the ranch or coast house and they work fantastic for that.

They need to come out with a carbine like the PC-9 in 5.75x28 that uses these same mags.

Would be a hellacious truck gun for the farm or ranch topped with a 1x6 or even a red dot.

Yep.  Thats what everyone else is telling them on all the Youtube reviews/social media posts.  Only problem with 5.7 is how expensive it is per 50.  Hopefully this gun might help bring the price down some.

Lo fucking L at someone who supports a man who believes stealth fighters are completely invisible to the naked eye, windmills cause cancer, we should buy Greenland, and that we should nuke hurricanes, thinking others are stupid.

I never said anything about supporting Trump or his warmongering.  I said a lot of you are fucking dumbasses if you think a few missiles hitting some random shit in Iraq were going to lead to Trump using a nuclear weapon.  Stop with the "finger on the button" bullshit already.

FYI, I have a Radical Firearms 300 BLK pistol I bought a few years ago for something obscenely cheap. It has no problems cycling through ammunition or anything like that, but trying to zero that rifle(pistol) has been a huge pain. It shoots to the left substantially. Bore sight it and line the iron sights up and then go to shoot it...

It shoots nowhere near. Far enough off that I'm not even sure the iron sights have enough adjustment. Maybe it needs a new barrel, or maybe the flash suppressor is knocking things off. But it has proved enough of a pain that I've never bothered to get it properly sighted in.

If you inspect the flash hider, do you notice anything unusual?  if you unscrew the hider do you notice issues with the crown of the barrel?  Do the rounds that are going left keyhole on the paper or punch clean holes?  Considering the quality of those Radical pistols - I wouldn't honestly be shocked if the barrel wasn't true lol

If you gave up going to the biggest game of the year, at a time when all of our hopes and dreams were still intact, to go to the lake then it seems a little disingenuous to blame Tom for the fact the you will not have attended a home game this year.  It's completely fair to blame Tom for a lot of things this season, but you being to disinterested to utilize your season tickets is not one of them.  In fact, I think you have even forfeited the right to complain about this season at all.

It wasn't really that simple.  I had a family reunion and a place rented at the lake prior months before I got a chance to buy the tickets.  Didn't realize LSU was going to be the same day we had 20 people staying in an AirBNB.   That loss really sucked the life out of the whole season imho.  Also - fuck Tom Herman.  He sucks.

  19. I bought seasons this year and have yet to go to a game as we've progressively become the laughing stock of the Big 12 again. This whole season has been cursed since the day I hawked my LSU tickets and went to the lake instead.    So the most sobering stat to me is the amount of money I spent on tickets this year not to attend a single home game for the first time in a decade.  I'm going to end up giving away another set for Tech.  Fucking Tom Herman and his shit ass coaches just can't figure out how to prepare all these 4 star athletes for games against lesser talent.
