In this case, the customers BOD has decided that multicloud means more resilient. In my experience, that usually means people with a pure business background have been directed as such by some overly expensive consultants, because nobody gets in trouble for following $BIG_CONSULTANT's recommendation.

It's so ass backwards, even my sales partners don't like it despite the free cushioning on their quotas. But for some reason, leaders of large companies often trust consultants more than cloud vendors when deciding how to best operate in a cloud/hybrid environment

And most of these orgs are not even taking advantage of the internal resiliency options within the specific cloud that they are in (multi-az/region).  "Vendor lock" and "what if Amazon/Microsoft/Google goes down" are arguments that drive me crazy.  There are not a lot of workloads that are so mission critical that they truly need to be multi-cloud.  It sounds great in theory, but like y'all said, it is just a waste of money more often than not.

Just read that AWS announced revenues were up 19% YOY, meanwhile 500+ employees wrote to CEO against the RTO plan. Tough sell unless they want to shed workers.

    "I think we could've been up 25%"

When the initial news of the 5 days a week of RTO came out, I messaged some of my friends that were still there.  A couple of them were literally turning in their notices that day.  They all found out about the 5 day requirement through the news feeds.  There were no internal announcements.

I'm still on my first playthrough, early in Act 3, but have already spun up a few replay characters to pursue different storylines.  One of those will be making use of Minthara.  I didn't like something she said with my current character, so I killed her.  On the plus side, Astarion makes really good use of her armor.

I love her snarkiness, so I had her in and out of my party during my first play through.  I had pulled her in via the non-Tiefling massacre option.

We’re doing the same one in 10 days!

When they say dress warmly, do so.  Temp itself wasn’t bad but the wind was blowing solid on the trip out. There were a lot of folks on our boat that didn’t listen and were in shorts and tshirts. Also they do take pics of everything you see and post them later that evening for you to download, so if you are a crappy photographer like I am, don’t sweat it.

  6. Just finishing up a whale watching trip with Price of Whales here now.  Great trip with orca and humpback whale sightings. Captain even kept us out later as the humpbacks were super active.

  7. Just finished my first run through this weekend.  My Tav was a Teifling Paladin, and I ran with Shadowheart, Karlach, and Gale for most of the Acts.  I ended up switching Gale with Minthara for the final battle sequences.  I'm planning on trying a Dark Urge run through with a cleric as my Tav, using Lae'zel, Wyll, and Astarion to just see their reactions and how it goes.  Although, I'm a Minthara fan, so I might end up switching one out for her once I get her to join, assuming the Dark Urge stuff doesn't mess that up.  I know there are some forced interactions, but I've tried to limit the spoilers for them.

  8. I was with AWS up until a few months ago (ProServe consultant), and I am 100% on board with the idea that Amazon is jacking around folks to help fire in place folks.  Morale on most teams was bleak.  They have been forcing folks to come back into the office, even if they are on fully remote teams.  They are not providing any relocation for folks that they are forcing  to move to be near offices.
