I was just about to say the same thing. He’d been in Denver or Vegas.

Another good pick up. RT can recruit. Gotta be able to put it together on the court though.

Show me a game last year where JJ self-sacked or looked a little off.
I don’t think that JJ is going to be a great QB, but he was much steadier than Quinn and not injury prone.
I don’t see any draft pattern that ha had Quinn going in the first round this year. Too many question marks ❓❓❓
I would think that he would be on the back end of the Nix/Penix grouping at best.
If he played every week like he did against Alabama (both years minus the injury), then he would be a Top 4 pick. But he didn’t.
I don’t disagree. But you’re looking at it waaaay too logically for NFL thinking/ego.
Quinn is a former 5*, 1.000 rated recruit that took Texas to the playoff for the first time ever. At the combine/pro day, he would’ve thrown well, tested decent and would’ve caught the eye of someone.
You might be right. But you, just like I, have seen recent guys like Trubisky, Manziel, Brandon Weeden, Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Daniel Jones and even further back guys like Christian Ponder, Jake Locker, Tim Tebow get taken 1st round.
Daniel Jones last year at Duke - 237/392, 60%, 2674 yards, 22 TDs, 9 INTs in 11 games. 6th overall pick.
Trubisky’s last NC year - 304/447, 68%, 3748, 30 TDs and 6 INTs
Quinn last year for reference - 272/394, 69%, 3479, 22 TDS, 6 INTs

Because he wouldn’t have been a 1st rd guy had he come out
They’re talking about JJ fucking McCarthy being the number 2 pick. Quinn would’ve been a mid 1st round guy after the combine.

Maybe I have listened to Bobby Burton & Gerry repeat it about 30 times, but the Manning family, and statistics, show that a QB with 25 or more starts is much more likely to experience success in the NFL than a QB with fewer starts than that.
It is a big reason that Quinn is returning for a third year and unless Arch starts 12+ games this year, there is virtually zero chance that Arch goes pro after next year (2025), no matter how great his season is.
The Mannings are focused on that 2nd, 3rd, and maybe 4th NFL contract. Leaving after one starting season is not part of any plan.
I hope you’re right.
I just can’t imagine if he has a big year in 25-26 and is a projected top 10 pick (he will be if he has any type of big year) that he turns that down to come back to Texas for another year.
But again. I hope you’re right.

So basically we and aggy both told the kid to his face that he’s plan B. Good for him if he’s patient, but I think I’d be about ready to just move on if I were him.
I’ll be curious to see what happens. I don’t feel Arch is who’s gonna affect this class’s QB. In reality, Arch will be our starter for the 2025 season (and for some of this year when Quinn has his inevitable few games) and then he’ll be out (if it all plays out the best way it can). I think this QB will come down to how Sark sees Owens. He looked great in his minutes during the spring game and I think the dude is gonna be a gamer. Will KJ stick and come battle with Owens for that spot? Or go somewhere he’ll have a clear path?

You’re seeing the difference between a guy that has nfl level footwork and mechanics that has been coached up by his hall of fame uncles versus a guy that relied on his elite arm talent and never really developed his footwork and pocket presence. Quinn’s experience has given him an edge this year which hold a lot of weight, but you’re not the only one wondering why our starting QB still looks uncomfortable in the pocket 3 years in.
This year is gonna be interesting. Quinn has yet to make it through a full year of games and the difference this year is if that happens, he might not get his job back.

G - Pope, Larry
G - Johnson, Weaver
G - Mark
F - Kent, Codie
F - Shedrick, Onyema
Gotta go get an other big you’d think. Garrison sounds out, there’s been talk of the Air Force kid close to committing.

Fuck Cal. I’d rather have RT as our coach the next 40 years than that fuck coach at Texas. Some dumbasses around here wanted him post Beard too.
