  1. That seems like a lot of wishful thinking. Between the GOR, not having an invite, not knowing IF they will get an invite from either the SEC or the B1G - I guess they are really embracing the "life  conference is a journey not a destination" credo

Have to admit, I was expecting to read a whole hell of a lot more dumbfuckery when I opened this thread. Surprisingly level-headed posts for SEC mouthbreathers.

Yeah, compare this to the aggy board / "insiders" ..

Was thinking a lot of the other SEC fan bases and specially LSU would be equally unhinged but this is a let down - nowhere close to the delusions and conspiracy theories that aggy would've come up with.

I just watched that clip on the Finebaum show. Jesus. They really did make that shit up out of whole cloth and are trying to publicly bully the SEC into agreeing to that.

The SEC was furious about the way ATM behaved in the summer of 2021. ATM tried to imply that they had some weight to throw around and called their emergency BOR meeting for a Monday on Friday afternoon and stated that discussing the Texas move to the SEC and their “options” was the agenda. Sankey asked them directly what their intent was and they hemmed and hawed around potentially leaving the conference. He told them to do that or cut the shit. Get right or get fucked. They immediately started acting like they were totally on board with the move. I’ve heard the story told the same way from friends in the AD at Bama and someone close to the powers that be in the UT system. It had to have come from Sankey or one of his people on the call. These idiots actually tried to leverage the notion that they would take their ball and go home if they didn’t get their way.

Now ATM is trying the same exact shit over the stupid first home game, something no one cared about until they started chirping. It’s a bold strategy. If I’m Sankey, I put that game in Austin and tell them to shut the fuck up or they’ll wind up permanent rivals with Texas, LSU and Georgia.

We really need a full behind the scenes write-up of the Texas/OU move to the SEC including all the details and the aggy meltdown. I'd pay good money for it - great bed time reading.

7.7 oz? Christ that’s a lot of weed. Did they all just take their “NIL” and try to triple it by buying drugs to sell?

    also - lol:

According to the police report, Williams had 7.7 ounces of marijuana in a black bag with a Texas A&M football name tag attached to it.

What NIL? This is their attempt to keep up with the joneses at Texas.

Yeah well Bullock won the Lou Groza, All-American, and All-Big 12 over Tucker in College. The only thing Tucker ever won at UT was 2nd team Big 12 by the Sportswriters. The coaches didn't even think he was the 2nd best kicker in the Big 12. The Texans were not alone! I guess Tucker was raw dogshit in College, he should be glad the Ravens deigned to invite his shitty ass to camp.

Though to be fair Tucker only hit like 80% of his field goals in College which would be a shockingly horrible season by his NFL standards. Maybe not entirely unwarranted.

Know nothing about how kickers are coached but reading the NYT article it appears he was not coached at all at Texas..

    Quote

" At the end of his second day, Rosburg called him into a meeting with the team’s kicking consultant, Randy Brown — who spent the next two and a half hours playing video of Tucker’s performance and pointing out everything he did wrong.

“His evaluation was essentially that I was not consistent enough in my set up,” Tucker says. “I was at too wide of an angle at the top of my stance, and I was taking my steps with only my plant spot in mind — as opposed to giving the spot of the ball equal consideration.” As the meeting wound down, Tucker promised to follow Brown’s advice, but privately, it made him nervous to reconstruct his technique in the middle of training camp. “I asked them at the end of the meeting for a little grace while I’m trying to figure this out,” he says. “Like, can you guys bear with me tomorrow, and don’t get rid of me if the ball’s not coming off my foot exactly how I want it? And they essentially said, ‘Yeah ... but no.’”

The next day Tucker returned to the field with a knot in his stomach, but he set up for his first kick as Brown suggested. “And the first ball comes off my foot like a rocket, and then the next one and the next,” he says. “I just felt like I had command over the ball, something every kicker chases.”

All it took was one meeting to elevate. Blame Mack?

  7. We are getting beaten by the refs and beaten by pure bad luck.

But damn, I love the heart in this team so far. Credit to the coaching as well. Sark couldn't have called a better first half. I'd have ecstatic before the game if someone had told me it would be 10-10 at the half. Now I'm pissed it's not 24-10 texas.

So many questions about this Perryman Group study.  Here's two:

First, I'm skeptical of how accurate the underlying research and data are given that the work started sometime within the past week.  In other words, we have to assume that this firm only started this "analysis" after news broke about Texas and Oklahoma leaving the SEC.  There's no reason it would've started earlier.  And, this isn't like preparing a family budget after one spouse loses a job.  This involves much more complicated analysis covering several economic markets.  Even with pulling all-nighters (doubtful), the speed at which this report was produced is one of many red flags.
