Meant from a production stand point. Stogner had 17 catches.
Half the room was hurt, also, so no chance to get the freshmen any snaps to see how they worked out.

This staff needs more heavy hitters in the recruiting department.
Agreed. Love Bedenbaugh as a coach and developer, but something has to change with the ability to land and retain top-level OL. If he can have a partner on staff that can act as support for him, that's the best of both worlds. I had hopes that Murray might be that guy since RB recruiting is historically a smaller pool and can be locked up early.

surely one of those dudes is going to change positions.
Miachael Hawkins has been committed for a while IIRC
Brendan Zurbrugg was committed to Northwestern and Syracuse before OU.
Andy Bass goes to Heritage Hall (private school IIRC) and his most recent offers around OU were Kansas State, Yale, Harvard, UNLV, Penn (not Penn St), New Mexico State and Air Force.
actually an article about Bass says he is a PWO (as was his KSU offer): https://www.oklahoman.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2023/08/24/ou-football-andy-bass-heritage-hall-commits-oklahoma-sooners-2024-recruiting-class/70666124007/
Bass is more of an Athlete pick, if I'm understanding his recruitment. I think it was a panic response to the Texas game from last year when it became glaringly obvious there were zero QBs on the roster that could do the job at even a replacement level.
The Ezukanma thing reads like a guy who was on the bubble and could possibly follow Lebby to secure a spot. No actual knowledge, though.

Frankfurt is the worst large international hub. Fuck that place.
Having to exit, go through the draconian security that takes forever, waste two hours, and then return to my gate that was two down from my arrival gate? Yeah, that's Frankfurt to me.
Plus, I always enjoy explaining in GermEnglish why a Kindle isn't a laptop, but isn't a phone.

Cooking a turkey Wednesday just for the purpose of making turkey and sausage gumbo for the tailgate Friday. And of course turkey stock will be made from the carcass.
I'm keeping the carcass from my family's thanksgiving, and making a turkey of my own when I get back into town. The first friends gettogether after Thanksgiving always means gumbo.

For the mention above of making steak sandwiches, I found that mixing leftover jus into mayo makes a hell of a spread on one.

Wait, is Bozo in play? This is the first I'm hearing of this, and that could be B.A.D. for the rest of the SEC if that deal gets done...

I think I read that if K State, OSU, and OU end up tied (likely). Then K State could get the nod as well depending on the outcomes of other games.

This lets you calculate what should happen based on game results, and weirdly enough, if Cincinnati beats Kansas the last week of the season, then it ends up being OU/Texas due to the difference in the Iowa State and Kansas results.

Considering we thought every game would be like this after South Alabama, this season is still a W. A pathetic W, but still a W.
I feel the same about OU's year. Team is much improved over last year in some really key areas, got to beat Texas in a wild one. Sucks to lose to OSU and hope that things shake out to play in the BigXII game somehow, but I can't be mad after last year's shitshow.

Thats my hope. He walked to the locker room at 1mph, but If he tore his ACL, would he have been able to walk at all? He wasn't on crutches walking to the locker room so he was putting some pressure on that knee.
When I tore mine, I had help but walked off. This was indoor soccer, and none of us idiots knew what to do, so I just iced it and drove myself home after the game.

Just turned it on. This would be the Gundiest thing ever if they beat ou only to get their dicks caught in their zipper at UCF.
The similarities between OU post-Texas and OSU post-Oklahoma are currently upsetting me.

Very true, but if you leave out the fish sauce in certain dishes, such as tiger cry, larb, pad thai, pad kee mao, or even pho, it's going to be lacking cuz it's missing that funk, like Caesar dressing without anchovies.
Give us the funk, kilroy. Gotta have that funk.
Oh I fully agree in dishes where it's providing a specific note that the thing needs. I've got a bottle I use, I just don't make those at home enough.

Jeezus, Serious Eats is such a beating. Fish sauce? Really?
They always say "you'll never taste it"...have they tasted fish sauce? Even a little bit is intense.

You make a bunch of great points. I’m clueless on why he’s so bad at recruiting outside of WR/QB.
I think it comes down to quality of assistants in most cases. His best recruiter by far was always Cale Gundy, and that gift predated him by two decades. Bedenbaugh is an excellent coach and evaluator, but is not a headhunter on the recruiting trail. I also wonder if Riley's skills as a coordinator make it hard for him to identify and teach those things to other coaches on staff.
It goes back to why transcendent athletes are often poor coaches. It's impossible for a Wayne Gretzky to teach someone to play like he played, and he has no idea how to maximize the talent or adjust around the skills of those around him outside of being a player himself. Extend that one level higher to transcendent coaches. Imagine Lincoln giving advice to a young DBs coach or DC like "Just perfectly remember what worked best in this situation the last twenty plays and call a perfectly disguised coverage to bait the offense into going to your strength." Great, but what if that coach doesn't have the eidetic memory and intuition about tendencies that Riley has for the offense??
Now Riley's lost the teachers, the evaluators, the planners, and the trainers that all build upon each other's work to make a complete team. He's relying on himself and another generational talent to make up for it all, and if QB1 isn't absolutely note perfect every snap, then Saturday happens.

This guy gets it. Nothing better than a swirl before a home game. My wife and I park right by there for every home game and have one on the way in. You can get pretty fucked up on them. Never tried the queso, too much of a boozer. I’ll be in Norman tomorrow, might try it at lunch.
Story goes they put Everclear in the sangria part of the swirl, so a couple of those are a problem.

I guess maybe a lot of blowouts are closer than the score indicates but when it was 37-20 the game felt pretty even to me. Opposite of 1st half against Kansas where it felt like KU was getting boatraced but the score didn’t show it.
This is 100% true. How often does a team score forty in the first half, doubling up the other team, and it feels like a close game?

If my kid were coughing up blood because of a football-related injury, I'd have a hard time wanting to see them out there getting hit again the same way a week later. It wasn't even a weird, non-contact or odd circumstance, just getting drilled in the chest on a tackle.

Im here bc OU fans only care about football and it’s all many of them have. Totally agree with that post. It’s just too important to suck for long - but look at NE. Ha
I'm here because the majority of OU fans online are painfully unfunny and have no sense of self-deprecation about how ridiculous college football is, whether it's going well or poorly.
Plus, getting someone else's point of view of what's happening in the program is always entertaining, and sometimes enlightening.

Drumm and Thune have pretty much signed this one over to ATM. Drumm said he got some info from someone at ATM indicating they internally felt like they were catching up to OU, but stopped juuuuust short of saying it's all Aggy at this point.

More on Kanak...
Apparently it was a pulmonary contusion, lung bleed that he tried to play through until he was coughing up blood and unable to catch his breath. Talks about it on his podcast: -

I think Jones and Valai (if you don't count Wells as an analyst) are the only ones without ties to one or the other.
People in the building seem really high on JJF, and I hope that's true because best case scenario, Littrell is here for two years and gets poached for a HC job somewhere.
