Fraternities are uninsurable.  I don’t know how they currently do it, but they use to all band together and basically self insure.  I can recall a fraternity back in the day who basically rented every apartment in a small complex in west campus.  It was their de facto fraternity house.  As someone with an insurance background, that would make an underwriter say no thank you, we will take on other risks.

Totally understand that. We’re not leasing to a fraternity or sorority though. They just all happened to be Greek. It gets passed down within their group so. So no vacancies. Originally, the company said it was student housing, which it’s not. Then they said we’re leasing to the entity, which  we aren’t. All individual leases with personal guarantees. No claims ever. Prohibitions against parties and everything else. Property was inspected, and all leases were provided during underwriting. Company has held the policy for at least 2 years.

  2. I have a multi- family property in Waco. The provider already had the policy before we bought the place, so were familiar with the property. They just canceled me because I would not / could not terminate half of the leases because  the tenants are Greek.  My quotes are now double.

I think insurance carriers are going back to fire protection only.

Saw the original at the Varsity Theater on Guadalupe my freshman year.  I have a lot of trepidation about revisiting a great movie after so many years but that trailer does make me hopeful. Fingers crossed.

Glasscock herded roughly 50 guys into understanding where they stood with regard to NIL deals, or lack thereof, and kept them on campus. You cannot win football games with your starting 22 and zero depth. Look to ATM last year and in 2024 for examples of how that works out. Seeing a guy, however uncouth some of you deem him to be, that handled that two cycles in a row move off to another school that knows what it is doing in NIL and the portal, to a promotion no less, isn't a good thing unless you have an agenda to spin or didn't like how he ran interference on some important shit at times that protected everyone.

No agenda.  Obviously, he's good at some aspects of the job.   I felt the story was applicable, in light of the expected expanded role of a GM type (beyond a pencil pusher), and Sark seeming to be fine with letting him go.  The guy just came off really poorly in how he spoke about some of the players to people he didn't know.

You guys do know that roster management has a lot more to do than just recruiting right? This is not an accident and wasn’t bad. It’s desired. Get in the mother fucker if you suck or can’t cut it. A lot of people don’t realize this is a lot more than the HS cycle. It’s the entire active player pool as well. Roster holes don’t fill themselves.

It’s the opposite. The earlier you can prepare someone to leave the better.

Yeah, I get that. Don’t disagree with you. But, I think there’s something to being being professional, especially when you’re hitting people up for millions of dollars.  If it’s supposed to be run like a business, which it’s going to be to get and sustain high dollar donations, he didn’t present well. Maybe that was a one off. Dunno. Don’t know the guy. Harris was better in my opinion, but was obviously figuring things out.

Unless I’m misunderstanding his story, he wasn’t preparing the player and family for leaving. He was talking shit about them behind their backs to a bunch of donors in a group setting. That’s hardly high EQ.  Even talking to individual donors about each player in a private setting would be fine.

    Correct.
