Except for the fact I've known a lot of NFL fans who don't give a fuck about CFB (yes, makes zero sense) and vice versa. (I tend towards this end, but makes more sense)

I went to a Cowboys game a few years back and let's just say it wasn't exactly a yuppy crowd, more like construction workers, plumbers, electricians and such that either went to trade school or none at all. Of course they have disposable income to waste on tickets plus Jerrah's highway robbery parking fee, overpriced beer and bar food, but I bet not many of them could name 4 star CFB players at any given time. The only time they get interested is on draft day based on the opinions of whichever talking head they follow. Two different fanbases without a huge amount of crossover imo.

I think this is true and more so true now.  But there were at least a couple of times back when I was in school in the mid ‘80s when the Cowboys v. Redskins game was at Texas stadium on the Sunday following TX-OU.  Lots of Texas and OU fans stayed over for that game.  Of course that is consecutive days not waiting a week between games and it is the CFB fan having an interest in the NFL.

Our defense spent 36:20 of game clock on the field. That is not a recipe for success, when your defensive strength is the interior DL. It’s a recipe for embarrassment when your opponent is an extremely dialed in 6th year senior QB with an NFL receiving corps. He was damn near perfect against us.

If I’m Michigan, my goal is to keep my offense on the field for 40 minutes. By the third quarter, I want Penix sitting on the sideline, worrying about how he HAS to be perfect in the very few remaining possessions Washington has left. And when he’s on the field, I want him to face my well rested pass rushers. Michigan can beat him mentally, if they play their cards right and establish the run early.

Think of it on the bright side, UW had possession almost 12 minutes longer than Texas and only managed to win by 6 points and was in danger of a loss in the final 15-20 seconds of the game.  Imagine if they would have lost.  The narrative would have been - what the fuck?  UW dominated, Texas was subpar and had an atrocious third quarter, and UW choked away a loss.  Yeah, that’s all I got.

Yep. I think y’all are very good and it will be a good game. I am very confident in my Huskies but it doesn’t mean I think you guys suck.

Doesn’t sound like it.  Sounds like you and others of your ilk coming to this site keep going on and on about your team seemingly trying to convince folks here how good your team is.  Yes, fine, Washington is a damned good team.  If you know how good they are, then you don’t need to be going on and on about it.  I mean shit, it’s all look at me!  Look at me!  Acknowledge how good we are. Fuck.

    Promotion/Relegation

West Ham United bizarrely wins at least two national championships.  Northwestern and LSU (in a freakishly bad 2028 season) get relegated to the Dutch second division.  LSU comes close to being promoted back up just three times in that 20 year timespan.  But, then decides to focus on baseball.
