Seems like we have enough lines in the water at DL right now to feel pretty confident we will end up in a good spot. If those spots get filled, you are 1 more LB and 1 more CB away from hitting on all the need areas in the class outside of maybe an elite OT.

It was an interesting and bumpier-than-expected ride to get to this point but this class has come together nicely.

A 2 (maybe 3 depending on Williams position) DB class?

I spent many weekends getting shitfaced and spending $2 bills stuffing them down their panties before they bent over and shoved my face into their beaver with my nose in their ass. Each time I wondered what I would happen if I shoved my tongue in that beaver while they were doing it, but I chose not to  in case her boyfriend working the door carried herpes or chlamydia. I did get a number from a hottie, tho.

Great bang. 10/10 would do it again.

Would someone like Chris Gilbert be built for a GM or GM type role in college football? That could be a pretty easy transition done after the season if it makes sense. Or maybe he’s already doing some of that stuff in his “assistant to the head coach” role. Would be interested to know what that roles looks like day to day.

Just money-whip somebody from another school that is doing a good job. Kinda like Ole Miss did to us. Let Gilbert stay where he is.

If you're interested in setting up a whole-home portable generator for your house, there's a Facebook group called "Generators: portable generators to power entire house" that I used to help get my house setup. This was one of the first things I did when we bought a new home in summer of 2021.  Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1716967438485868/

The owner of the group built a guide to all the parts and pieces needed, has a list of electricians and plumbers for install, and he's always willing to help answer questions if you have any. He helped me pick the right interlock kit, breakers, etc. Nice guy, and there are plenty of other people in there willing to help answer any questions you may have.

To do the setup, here's a quick run down of the items and estimated costs of each I used:
     1. Generator - Duromax 13000 Tri Fuel: $2000 https://www.duromaxpower.com/collections/hxt-series/products/duromax-xp13000hxt-13000-watt-500cc-tri-fuel-gas-propane-natural-gas-portable-generator-with-co-alert

    2. 50 amp power cord from gen to house outlet: $150

    3. 50 amp power inlet box to connect to breaker box: $75

    4. Breaker for generator inlet: $60

    5. 3/4 inch natural gas hose quick connect: $75

    6. Optional: Whole house surge protector Siemens FS140: $250

    7. Generator manual interlock kit for breaker box: $50

    8. HVAC MicroAir Soft Start: $280 per HVAC

    Services:
    1. Master Electrician to install inlet box, breaker, interlock, soft starts: $600

    2. Plumber to install gas hose quick connect and valve: $300

Total cost roughly around $4000 to get everything setup with a portable that I keep in the garage. I wheel it out when needed, which has been twice in the last 2 years, and it does the job of powering everything in the house. The main drawback is that my wife would never set it up on her own without me, but we have neighbors and friends that would be willing to help in the event that I'm out of town during a major storm.

I just did this. Works great

On today’s coffee and football they were praising Jaylon Guilbeau and Gerry said he “carries a chip on his shoulder like all the golden triangle guys — save one.”

This is at least the third time I’ve heard him go out of his way to say this. I’ve racked my brain, who’s the softee from the golden triangle?

Just a wild guess - Jaylen Garth?

Banks and Sarkisian are basically trying to run the entire show when it comes to recruiting, to the point of limiting access for position coaches with their position targets. Sounds really fucking weird.

Harris has provided consistently dated and/or clueless intel from the recruits’ camp side and is just basically an order taker otherwise.

Texas lost a talented scout that they haven’t replaced and they lost a talented roster management/personnel guy that they arrogantly decided to not really replace by instead promoting an unqualified yes man.

This predicament is entirely of Sarkisian’s making. He’s going to have to fix it soon as there is more bad news looming.

There was an 8 figure outflow of NIL the preceding 12 months. The coaches aren't doing stupid shit because they have money in the bank. Baseball is a great example of doing stupid shit with NIL money and getting bad results. Football is a great example of what to do with NIL for great results.

This narrative about DT being a huge issue is largely predicated on losing 2 high NFL draft picks that played the primary roles at that position, not because some 18 year olds aren't coming here. There are very good DT on the roster and no one was in here bitching about how shitty the DT looked in the spring game, especially with the new edge rush. As much as the handwringing brings views and whatnot it's time to just wait and assess what we've got going on instead of creating insane doom stories about how we are fucked because we have no DT.

    What did baseball do?

So, all of this is objectively awesome for Texas and Jim S. was my #1 choice and it is nice to poach him from aggy without having to absolutely money whip him.

But let's not act like this deal could have been done had CDC and JS not absolutely loved working with each other. Any othe AD and this deal is iffy. It would not surprise me at all if this deal had not been in the works for years. JS has long stated that Texas was his dream job.

Towards the end of the season, I figured this might be a done deal if Pierce was canned. I also figured that JS might be a viable candidate for other top shelf blue blood coaching jobs should they open up.

In fact, Im pretty sure CDC and JS had a wink wink agreement that once JS proved himself at a legit school in a legit conference that we would take him.

We are making much  out of drinking aggy's milkshake, but they made the right hire and took a risk, knowing CDC and JS's relationship and it brought them to heights unseen im their baseball history, but again it was always a risk that they were perfectly aware of.

As much as I would.like to be all puffy chested about this, I can't.  This turn of events was all CDC and aggy reaching for the stars. They almost made it, and it would have been worth it for them had they closed the deal, but they didn't.
