And down goes Miss State.   SEC schools were overrated as per usual this year.

    Talk about an idiot take...

Did you really expect us to beat fsu..

I mean we were a 3 seed...and barely crept into the field.

We fired our head coach and barely limped into a regional...and ya wanna dog on us when we were one of the lower half in the sec (again. The power conference in baseball).

Im debating on not even posting this because i just saw the ut score.  Oh shit

Auctually i guess you are right. Sec schools are overrated

I had seen 500k. 800k is still not a big deal. BOC had it set low after UVA made him promises for funding to get him to turn down A&M. evidently the funding hasnt been fully realized. Plus, what we are offering him will put our commitment for baseball back in the top of the SEC which is vastly better than anything UVA can offer him.

I'm hoping it's true. Signs are leaning. it's true.

But I also know the last coaching search we did in 18, (different ad) some coach named Sloss signed an MOU with us but backed out because we were dumb and didnt want to announce while the interim coach Henderson took our boys all the way to Omaha.

That wont happen again, We have to have a new head coach sometime next week with the transfer portal opening.

Oh and strong rumor he will bring his staff...except the pitching coach as Corey Muscara, wake forest pitching coach will be joining our staff.

Still lots of moving pieces but the goal was to get a sitting P4 head coach. I feel very certain even if this falls thru, the other names are not of the same caliber but still a vey good hire.

  4. No expansion or change needed. Lets take a small sample size. 10 years - 7 different sec teams have won from 2014 - 2024.

The outleirs Virginia (on that note is Oak staying there...hmmm) . Coastal Carolina, and Oregon St..  So a littler spread arond the east - west but mostly SEC.

Look at the last 4 years. Minus OK in 2022. Every team that made the final was SEC.

Is the stadium made of Erectors  Or is this the Aggy Stadium??? (sorry had to....)

Maybe it's time to upgrade to a real SEC Stadium ;)  (Ok the hates coming on... I feel it.... )

  6. Oh well. MSU will still make the ncaa tournament which is an achievement after how the season started.

Only thing that matters is what Head coach we pull in the next couple of weeks.

Im not listing off the names until i actually see it happen but feel we are in a good position to get a p4 head coach.

  7. Congrats horns on winning the conference.  Gonna be fun to watch the post season for UT.

Crazy to think MSU was 1-8 in conference and post season possibilities were dead and Lemonis was about to be canned.

    A 14-7 finish is impressive.

Now we get Aggy lol. Who is circling the drain of death and deciding if they are going to cut off the head of 1st year head coach. Take care of business and then Auburn , then LSU.

Gotta say if we can beat at least the first two we likely play ourselves into the 2 line somewhere for post season.

Of course what really matters is still who our next hc will be. Because it wont be parker.

Quite the jumble really from third to 12th in the SEC standings. Does the SEC get 14 teams in? That seems a little too much.

If it's only 13 teams are getting in all of sudden Kentucky looks to have a problem because they just got swept by Mississippi State.

Aggy and MSU still have a series left with hapless Missouri, who gave Georgia a scare this weekend, but remain winless in the SEC.

Florida has risen from their early terrible start to a half game clear in 11th place, but finish with Texas and at home to Alabama, not easy

Kentucky finishes with OU at home and then at Bama, so no walk in the park either. They lost the series to Aggy and the MSU sweep hurts against those teams.

Aggy looks pretty good with the series win over LSU, but what if they say swept Missouri, but got swept at Georgia and maybe finished in 14th somehow. Aggy was one of the last four teams in before this weekend.

Mississippi State has been on the bad side of getting in the NCAA Tourney for a long time but were one of the last 4 teams out coming into this weekend, but maybe not now. They go to Ole Miss next weekend for a big series before finishing with Missouri.

Lots of things to be decided in the last two conference series from teams 1-14.

State hosts Mississippi this weekend before finishing at Mizzo. If we can take the series that puts in great position for 15 SEC wins.  Really think as long as we get to 14 we are in the tournament again.  RpI at 33 today, UM at 17 but 3 against Mizzo at 154 and 1 against North Alabama at 207 (ugh can we flood the field?) are what will hurt the rpi.

The team has truly changed with Parker taking over. either way, make the ncaas. see if we can make some noise. Or just count the days till hopefully O'Connor is our next head coach when UVA misses regionals.

They've already moved on from an interim coach that took them deep into Omaha. He's now coaching Utah/Big12

And his record at utah has confirmed we made the correct decision.

It’s splitting hairs. If they’re not top 10, they’re top 15. They are tied for 11th in appearances. The bigger issue is their performance when they get there. They have a lopsided losing record and several behind them in appearances have more titles.

That all said, people might argue Arkansas or Clemson over them, but neither of those schools have won a title. And what do you do with Florida State? On one hand, they go to the CWS a lot. On the other hand, they collapse almost every time they visit. It’s pathetic.

Thank you. It really comes down to how someone wants to rank a program.

The biggest question for us is who we hire. With all the mess with the NCAA settlement money becomes a key issue.

Early names being tossed about with some realistic possibility.

    David Pollard- duke

    Mark wasikowki- Oregon

    Rob Vaughn- Alabama

    Mingione - Kentucky

    Wes Johnson - UGA

Associates - We have only hired one associate in modern history and that was Any Cannizoro.

    Will Coggin - Georgia

    Josh Elander - Tennessee

    Nolan Cain - Texas

Reading some names being thrown around for MSU, and I didn't realize Nick Mingione (Kentucky head coach) was a long-time assistant at Mississippi State before going to Lexington. That one could make sense.

Cliff Godwin is another one but I'm wondering if he stayed too long at ECU. They are about to miss the tournament this year, and he has commented over the years about being extremely anti-NIL and portal, which won't fly at an SEC school.

Nick was under Cohen for 7 years at state before going to UK.

Kentucky was were we got Cohen from before we called him home.

Nick wouldnt be my top candidite by far. But he has done decent at UK.

Just no, the games changed too much for Cliff.

Feels like there is very little benefit to firing a guy at this point in the season.

It would be hilarious if the interim takes them on a run and they are competitive or win a regional. Every AD's worst nightmare, but you crack open that door when you make a decision like this.

Meh that isn't happening again. Meet Gary Henderson (interim coach in 2018 after Cannizaro got fired for being addicted to sex basically)

The team finsished t3 in the CWS.

This team has major isses.... New leadership was badly needed. We will always love Lemon for 21.  But its time.

And yes. we almost got Schloss in 18... but Cohen wouldnt wait.

It would be very difficult to make an argument for any team other than USCw or Texas.  LSU would be 3rd.  Mississippi State is so far down the list it's laughable.

MSU is in the top 10, so I woudn't say that far down the list. The biggest key stat missing is National Championships.  But facilities, support, overall program, and players drafted...  would be closer to  5-7 range.

is this thing going to continue intensifying? this is pretty wild.

Likely . Next recon flights will not depart until 4pm for noaa and 5pm for air force . Will take an hour to get into the system at least .

So until then a updates are done by satellite estimates .

But there's nothing in the path really at this time to cause it to weaken .

It will cause itself to weaken briefly possible later today IF an eye wall replacement cycle occurs (likely since the eye is only 9miles across now which is very tiny). As the ewrc occurs the storm will expand in size also ...

It also hasn't hit the warm loop current of the gulf yet that's in its path .

Last drop about an hour ago recorded 912mbar. Which is just outside the top 10 strongest hurricane in history . And around 175 mph winds

It's very likely Melton bombs out to close to 900mbar and winds around 185+

You said enough by saying longhorn steakhouse pick . Blessed to still have 1 more of the 14 years released during covid . I've had a few other of their picks . So good
