  1. 2010- Winner wins the south division
    2011- winner wins the conference
2013- OSU wins conference with a win
    2015- winner wins the conference
    2016- winner wins the conference

Stop gaslighting the board with your lies. 3 times Bedlam has been winner takes the conference. 2013 BU backed into the title when we lost Bedlam. 2010 was for the division. That’s 5 times in 10 years. My point holds and you seem like a dick.

So OSU is 1-4 in those games. And that doesn’t appear to be changing.

OU recruits against Texas. Not OSU. This isn’t a rivalry. 18 wins in over a hundred games says its an ass kicking.

  2. I completely agree. I would advocate we stop prioritizing anything athletics and start improving more of our academics.

We aren’t winning jack shit anytime soon anyway

And yet you post here. Can you point me to the academics message boards?

  3. I've met quite a few that have, in their more reasonable moments.
But you're part right in that a lot of people think Texas is just as dirty and unscrupulous as anyone else. That's called projecting. It's a coping mechanism.

It’s also a coping mechanism when you aren’t as successful as some programs and fall back on thinking “at least we are the wholesome good guys”.

  4. I'm assuming you've been around as long or longer than most of us, albeit not on this message board.  OU has backed into more conference titles and bowl games than we've had the luxury to play for due to various levels of ineptitude and fuckery.  By and large, the talent gap hasn't been significantly greater for OU but they've coached within a discipline that more effectively plugs the next guy in, while we were switching identities with a revolving door of schemes and assistants.
OU isn't a "very good" team for the theoretical ceiling they keep bumping into during bowl season.  They might have all the play sheets figured out and can put up points but year in and out, a gap was revealed in depth, physicality, defense and/or special teams play.

    This Texags?

So OU isn’t any good because they keep losing to other playoff teams.

    Are those teams good?

  5. How many holding calls do you remember in the OU game? They hardly called any, and it was clear the refs were going to allow a lot of shit from the first blatant face mask, the OU player knocking over our lineman long after the play was dead, the obvious holding non-calls, etc. It was obvious early and we failed to take advantage of it.

What obvious face mask? The play where Murray reached his arm out on the first drive wasn’t a face mask.

  6. Fucking okies. Sure, y'all could improve. Y'all improved in the ccg. Don't think anyone is doubting improvement. Enough to win a national championship?
    Not. If. He's. The. Coach.

Yea. Two years coaching. Two Heismans two conference championships. Two playoff appearances. Two top ten recruiting classes.

He clearly can’t get it done. OU should move on.

  7. Ok and what about everyone else from (including) Mike Leach's tree? The best thing about the air raid is being able to seemingly put points up at will. The worst thing about the air raid is they seemingly give up points at will. There's a whole thread about this very argument somewhere on the football board and what I'm saying is that history has said your offensive style only goes so far because of the defense.
Riley is a smart fucker and has an offense that kills. I honestly wish he'd fuck right off to the NFL while his name is hot. But I know he's not winning a national title with the defenses he's had/seen at Oklahoma.

Are you saying that’s it’s impossible for the OU defense to improve? Because that’s what you think or want?

  8. Yeah, that closes the books on Steele as well. He'll be a Sooner. Going to be interesting to see what happens with the rest of the DB class for OU. Esp. with Steele in. I'd guess that the spots are starting to shrink up and that one of the TX/LA guys out of Carter, Bush, Young, Banks, or Wolfe better grab a spot soon or be on the outside looking in the way O'Neal was last year. Will be super interesting to see if TCU starts to turn up the heat on the DBs as well, now that things are starting to line up.

OU is supposedly taking 2cb and 3 safeties.

CB’s .... Criddell and Steele maybe.

They have two safeties committed and probably want to wait and see what happens with Hill.

  9. Holy mother of fuck Surly. What the fuck? I go on some shitty work travel and come back to the goddamn beating that is this fucking thread? Mother of fuck. Chill the fuck out.
I'm not happy about the Leal thing but it is early. Aggy is going to have to grab and hold on to guys because their season will be what it will be - 7 or 8 wins but some weeks where they will be non-competitive. They are going to get guys because they are in the 1st year bounce. A least of couple of those guys were quoted as saying they were afraid of the large class at Texas last year. Fuck that shit.  Yes, Jordan Patterson is the guy that has been recruiting himself to Texas and yes he is fucking good. Also of note, EJ brought his grades to this convo but they are nowhere near as dire as say Josh Ellison or some shit. Don't listen to fucking EJ.
The Cal RB is being brought in because he is a scheme fit. Now they will see if he's a cultural fit. Get used to it. This staff will never stop recruiting at and over any position. If they see a player that is a scheme and cultural fit they'll bring him in. The same reason you'll see full classes every year. You won't see any smaller classes until the roster is at a championship level and even then, if a player is a fit and can contribute then he'll be recruited. We are going to see some turnover after the fall and spring every year.

This weekend is going to be a good one but this staff is not pushing for fauxmentum or early commits. OU has used 17 of their 56 OVs already, Aggy 14 of 56. That is fucking huge because OU and Aggy have taken the very early approach to this cycle. I'd imagine that both are going to wish that they had paced themselves a bit here. Texas, Clemson, Alabama, and USC are holding back on OVs - taking the opposite approach. After seeing the rush last season between NSD1 and NSD2, I think it's clear that the teams that hold enough OVs to host huge events between the bowl games and signing day are going to have a lot of leverage to complete their classes with talent and not bread.
Texas is going to sign a badass class in 2019. There are going to be some quotes from the past few pages that texifornia can pull up for the lulz in Feb.

OU has had 17 visits and has 11 commitments to a probable 22 commitment class.

And 11 probable good commitments. Not sure why keep bringing this up. In the other thread it was “they better get 4-5 more after Henderson and Wease”. Ok .... they did. Now it’s the visits themselves they should be concerned with losing.

    Moving goalposts.

  10. Told y'all. Fuck off EJ you fucking twat. There isn't a person following recruiting at even a cursory level that didn't know Wease was going to OU, and that Henderson was going to go where Wease went. You fucking stupid assbag. ZOMG JAMAL MORRIS IS GOING TO OU AS WELL!! everyone brace yourselves for EJs inside info.

    You seem triggered.

  11. Awesome coffee's for closers gif. Super topical and not at all played out. Four years ago.

Congrats on getting Theo Wease and Arjei Henderson back, I guess. Is Riley just gonna have that duo commit and decommit over and over and visit Aggy just to rope-a-dope them and create fauxmentum in Norman every few months? Wease has only ever wanted to go to OU. I for one am super glad to see Henderson hit your locker room for the ~2 years. I'm assuming Jamal Morris will go ahead and pull the trigger, even though Young is going to Aggy this weekend?
That's A LOT of OVs this early in the cycle, if this weekend doesn't net 4-5 more commits you're going to have an interesting summer and fall. 17 of your 56 possible OVs off the books in mid-April. You better fucking hope Riley is closing.
Dax Hill is a no-show again. I've enjoyed reading the OU mods explain his absences in Norman over and over and over again. I esp. like the fact that they seem to think that it's OSU that is the problem. I have no idea why they are last to the party but ... Alabama.

    DirtBurglar OV list ::

DT Derek Green (6'5, 309) of Jacksonville (Southwest), North Carolina who was a one-time commitment to OU and the decommitted because he said that he needed to stay close to home. However, OU has stayed on the phone with him and he is taking his official to OU this weekend.

OT Tyler Johnson, 6'4, 270, Conroe Oak Ridge, Texas is taking his official to OU this weekend.

OLB Cade Stover, OLB, 6'4, 225, Mansfeld (Lexington), Ohio is a four-star that really likes OU and he will be taking his official this weekend.

Austin Stogner, TE, 6’6, 230, Plano (Prestonwood Christian), Texas: Four Star: OU Commit. Despite efforts from A&M and UT Stogner remains totally committed to OU and this will be the only official visit that he takes.

Theo Wease, WR, 6’3, 194, Allen, Texas: Four-Star: The one time OU commit appears to still be leaning to OU, but following this spring he will take two more visits this spring to LSU the following weekend and USC on June 22nd. OU’s goal this weekend is to get him to recommit and then cancel those two other visits.

Arjei Henderson, WR, 6’1, 179 of Richmond (Travis), Texas: Four-star: Another former OU commit is best friends of Wease and they say they would like to play at the same school. Henderson has his choices narrowed down to three schools OU, Texas A&M, and Alabama and he says he wants to visits all three schools unofficially.

Jason Haselwood, WR, 6’2 1/2, 180, Ellenwood (Cedar Grove), Georgia: Five-Star: Georgia Commit. This longtime Georgia commit has family ties to OU and has a long time interest in the Sooners and he is going to give the Sooners a chance to change his mind. Hazelwood has been unofficially to Auburn and South Carolina so he does seem to be looking around.

Chris Steele, CB, 6’1, 188, Bellflower (John Bosco), California: Five-star: Steel has the schools he wants to visit and he is going to Louisville this weekend, OU for the 13th, LSU the following the weekend and Florida on September 8th. If he is still not committed by the time he gets to Florida that may be tough for the Sooners to overcome.

Jaden Davis, CB, 5’9, 166, Fort Lauderdale (St. Thomas Aquinas), Florida: Four-Star: Davis is a talented corner that has liked OU for a while and has official visits thus far set with OU and Ohio State. He takes a look at the Buckeye’s this weekend. Miami and Florida also seem to be major players here.

Brayden Ingraham, DE, 6’4, 260, Ft. Lauderdale (St. Thomas Aquinas), Florida: Four-Star: OU needs to bring in more talented defensive lineman and Ingraham fits that mold. OU will have to beat Miami here but they have also offered his good friend Davis and OU would love for them to be a package deal at OU.

Jamal Morris, S, 6’2, 185, Richmond (Fort Bend Bush), Texas: Four-star: Morris seems to like OU a lot and OU has a good chance to earn a verbal this weekend. The rub is that he is best friends with four-star cornerback Erick Young who likes OU too, but has decided to visit Texas A&M this weekend. Those two say they would like to play together but they are not visiting together unless one of them changes their mind where they are going this weekend.

Jarring Jones, S, 6’1, 185) of Flowed (Northwest Rankin), Mississippi: Four-star: Talented safety that is going to take his first official to OU for the spring game. OU has a decent shot here.

Michael Tarquin, OT, 6’5, 290, Belleview, Florida: Four Star: Tarquin is working the recruiting game as he has already been to OU twice, Miami, Ohio State, Clemson, South Carolina and Michigan. The oping game will be his first official visit and OU hope to get that verbal, but 247Sports feels he is a Miami lean.

Caedan Wallace, OG, 6’5, 315, Princeton (Nun School), New Jersey: Four-star: OU appears to be very much in the running for Wallace and they will take their at-bats with him with him. Penn State appears to be the Sooners biggest challenger early.

Jalyn Phillips, S, 6’1, 190, Lawrenceville (Archer), Georgia: Four-Star: OU appears to be in the running for Phillips with Alabama and Tennessee and he recently went to Georgia Tech unofficially.

Cam’Ron Kelly, ATH, 6’1, 190, Chesapeake (Oscar Smith), Virginia: Four-Star: Kelly is a two-way talent that OU likes as a CB, S and a WR. He has been to Junior Day’s at Clemson, Virginia Tech and twice to Virginia and now he is going to check out OU.

Joseph Wete', WDE, 6'4, 220, Washington DC (Gonzaga): Four-star: OU Offer, OU is battling Penn State for his signature and get their first chance to really go after him hard this weekend.
