    How's your lease mate doing?

Took a trip this Saturday to visit and drop off some things. Turns out small town Arkansas isn't the best place to stock up on topical burn creams and bandages. Also turns out small town Arkansas old people are quite unfamiliar with Amazon and having things delivered. They are getting better slowly. The lady is really just fighting an extremely bad sunburn. The gentleman has some tough days ahead. His arms and legs took the most damage. He gets his wounds cleaned and rebandaged twice a day and it takes about 4 hours to do each time. He should make a full recovery but it's going to be slow. He's come to terms with not hunting this year and has asked us to kill a couple of extra if we could. He takes care of a couple of families and needs 4 deer to not have to buy groceries.

Yup.  Unfortunately, it's true.  I was driving tacks at 300 yds before I left.  Shot and missed a 240 yd shot.  Shooting circumstances were less than ideal, so I chalked it up to the Indian not the arrow.  The last night of the hunt, I shot the cow at 120 yds.  Spine shot her.  Thrice.  Finally walked up and put one in the head to get her down.  First three shots were all within a 6" radius through the spine.  I was aiming for the lungs.  I was 18" high at 120 yds, so 3' high on the 240 yd shot.  To add insult to injury, I blew big holes in both backstraps.

I need to do some forensics this week.  Either the scope got bumped somehow, or I have something up with the mounts.  Regardless, it suuuuuuuckkkkked and I'm still kicking myself.   More details when I can upload pictures and post them.

I come to this board to read stuff that isn't a crotch kick. This hurt as bad as the game recap. Damn it man.

Ho-leee fukbalz, that could have been bad.

Good friend had a single-wide get struck by lightning near Millersview.  Those flimsy things go up like they are made of straw.  Glad everyone is ok.  Landowner was probably not in the best of moods....

It's lumber company land. Not sure if anyone has heard from them yet. We had 4 game wardens come to this campsite and to a man they all said they knew this camp was out here, but they weren't sure where. Then they all dropped pins. The drug task force came out as well. Turns out exploding campers deep in the woods aren't always so easily explained.

    Keep us posted.
    That coulda been so bad

Worst part is this is an old, retired guy that basically moves into this camper on muzzle loader opener and goes home at the end of deer season which in Arkansas is end of February. He lost almost all of his clothes, blankets, towels, kitchen / bath stuff.... Couple of us are trying to get a list of things to help replace it. He's got some pretty rough spots but says the pain is getting better every day. He is one of those just in general tough ass old Arkansas mountain guys.

  6. Went to my new lease in Arkansas for muzzle loader opener this weekend. Had a gentleman on the lease who had a gas leak in his camper. Long story short check you equipment and get a fire extinguisher. This could have gone really bad. 1 person with minor burns and a 1 with some a bit more serious.

Time to find another vet. Pathetic to still be that petty when you've moved into the real world and are doing biz with non-aggy on a daily basis.

He’s a good vet and my animals love it there.  He’s just an aggy through and through. I work in commercial construction. If every aggy I crossed paths with got under my skin with their weirdness I’d be miserable.

Is it really tho? I know that's the perception aggy likes to perpetuate and many people who don't really have anything to compare it to believe it, but I actively avoid using aggy vets.. Yes, that's right..I go about 1.5 miles further to use a vet who studied at both Iowa state and Guatemala..very happy with their knowledge and level of care.

And best of all..zero aggy flair in the entire place. Your daughter made the correct choice.

I have an aggy vet and a schitzu named Bevo. His office won’t call him Bevo. They call him Scout even when talking to us. It confused the hell out of us the first time they called and told us our Scout was ready to come home.

Given Riley is shady AF, I am just going to believe Nelson and Branch are just there to get intel on the bag game aggy is playing.

That said it is frustrating to me that they can create waves by getting these guys in for the weekend and the Texas staff doesn't seem to have tried to generate the same energy.

If you're going to have takes this dumb at least have the Burnt Ends flair to make them more tolerable.

The idea of ends holding the edge and others cleaning up the play sounds disastrous. I don’t think we have the linebackers for it, and I don’t blame pass rushers for being uninterested in the job. Feels like a situation where the coach and his system is rigid and isn’t optimized to the personnel which is almost always a mistake. Players are hard to get and pipeline talent is everything. Schemes and coaches can be changed a lot more easily.

    *Patterson to line 1 please….

Which scheme would you have used to make Brockermeyer shine?

I might be considered an olds, but was at both games. Big 12 title game with the first wife and the tech game in the middle of a divorce with her. Soul crushing put its lightly. Both brutal nights. Punt block call late after the Major comeback and Gideon’s INT drop are forever etched in this memory bank. Could have used some of your drugs both those games.

Yall are divorced. This should be an easy rule to follow.

Never understood the allure of shooting a bear/lion/elephant/etc. Not at all knocking those that do, I just never got it. Kinda like basketball. I recognize MJ was the greatest ever, but I couldn’t tell you how many innings in a match to save my life. But I won’t hold it against those that do. I’ll stick to my whitetail (and split tail), and the occasional dove or grouse.

I am on a lease in Arkansas this year where bear hunting is legal. I want to shoot 1 to have the meat, the lard, and the trophy. If i do not like the meat / lard i wont shoot a second. I don't see them the same as a lion or elephant.

Coors Light was our high school beer.

Different beers have different smells, sometimes a complex variety of smells…

Coors Light smells like high school, or at least the last 3 1/2 years of it.

Coors Light is still my driving beer.
