Not that Roach knows anything - but he thinks Tech would be the likely choice for Boyd.  I don't know if thats because he's not a take for us or because thats where he wants to go.

Assuming this is something that would sway QE one way or the other - have to believe this has been known for a while.

Wasn't Boyd the WR that the Southlake weed dealer predicted would go to Tech if Ewers went there?  He may be on to something here, and at this point I might believe him more than Roach.

Also, I think Boyd was being followed on the field by Ennis Rakestraw in the SLC - Duncanville playoff game, and there were times Boyd made him look like a fool.  It got to the point where Rakestraw had to go to the bench to cool down after getting a personal foul.

Like a week ago, Roach reported that Stewart was going to take his time with this decision, potentially into the spring, and then he committed to aggy like 2 hours later.  Maybe let's let the weekend play out before we take his word as gospel.

    Regardless, Ketch sucks.

It's hard to take anything Roach says seriously, especially after hearing Finkley and Brown talking on IG live how they would straight up lie to recruiting reporters to see if they would put in a CB for the wrong team.

  3. Part of me thinks that Aaron Boone pulling Cessa and going with Green/Kriske was his roundabout way of making up for last week's BS (rain delay, Dugie getting plunked by fan, umpire debacle). The other part of me thinks that is just Aaron Boone's management style.  Either way, I'm glad to get a game back on them in the standings.

Yep, fuck em and welcome! So who should we go for? I would like to snag Rizzo but could cost a lot. What should we give up for him?

    https://bosoxinjection.com/2021/07/21/red-sox-rumors-anthony-rizzo-good-fit-trade-deadline-upgrade/

I do think the price is probably too high for Rizzo (maybe wouldn't be if DD was still around).  We definitely need another bat to add to the lineup considering Danny Santana or Chavis gets plugged in anytime someone gets hurt.  I think that and maybe a suitable relief pitcher would make this year's team lethal.

Speaking of lethal, this changeup from Richards last night was insane.

  5. I had no idea there was a Red Sox thread on this site. I'm mostly a lurker on here to read about football and baseball recruiting news, but I will start posting in here.  I'm excited to see what Chaim does before the trade deadline, and to see how the rest of the season unfolds in the AL East. Obligatory fuck the yankees as well.

    Locks:

    C Ardoin

    2B Daly

    SS Faltine

    OF Kennedy

    OF Hodo

    weekend SP Hansen

Witt as weekend SP or high leverage RP

Gordon as weekend SP or high leverage RP

    Dixon as high leverage RP

Stewart as weekday SP or RP

    Very likely:

    Kash at 1B/DH

    Transfer (Merringer?) at 3B

Campbell in OF or super utility role

Powell at backup C and DH

Stehly at backup infielder or starter at 3B

    Whitehead as reserve OF

    Duplantier as late inning RP

    Eckhardt as weekday SP

    50/50:

    Melendez at 3B/1B/DH

    Todd in RF

    weekend SP Kubichek

    Southard as RP

    Longshot:

    Stevens as weekend SP

Theres still a lot to be determined in the middle of the pitching staff.  But most of the lineup and key pitching is set.

I would move Melendez from 50/50 to very likely.  I don't think he is leaving. In Pierce's exit interview he mentioned that Ivan will likely be 1B or 3B for next season. Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball also said he's expected to return.

Idk how I forgot about him but yeah. He and Faltine are deadly up the middle. Sorting out the corner infield spots and the outfield is gonna be fun to watch

I feel like Eric Kennedy has a pretty much guaranteed spot in either left or center. I don't see any way Pierce takes him out of the every day lineup with his bunting ability and speed.

So I was curious when was the last time we signed an OL as highly ranked as Banks and you have to go all the way back to Mason Walters in the '09 class (247 composite). The last 5 star OL we signed was Darius James in 2013.

I have a family member who coached Mason when he was in high school. Talk about a grown ass man among boys playing against the competition out in west Texas. He also coached David Thomas when he was in high school (same school - Frenship) who was also a man among boys.

My tech Facebook “friends” are starting to justify Beard leaving for Texas. “He was brought here to win championships and hasn’t yet. Next man up.”

    Anyway, it’s happening.

Same here. I'm from West Texas and the general vibe on my social media feed has gone from "there's no way he would ever leave here" to "if he is stupid enough to leave here, then maybe he isn't built for this job". These idiots truly think the Tech job is now on the same level of Kansas, Kentucky and UNC.

This tweet is from a former Tech QB.

2022 players that didn't grow up aggy :: "Who the fuck is Reggie McNeal?"

I can't imagine that a self guided tour of College Station will help aggy here. But on second thought, Jimbo can't be there to show him film of how well he would fit into their dink and dunk offense (i.e. repeatedly run deep to help the TE and RBs get open), so maybe it will work better this way for them.

This is from an apparent insider on Ohio State 247. I don't necessarily believe it or anything, but this is what the other side is saying

    From Weds

    "What I know regarding Urban

I’m not saying he won’t take the job. But I’m saying it’s 95 percent to me that he won’t take it. There are false reports out there that he reached out about a What-if staff. I know this is untrue because the first call would have been to Mick and I know he hasn’t called Mick about this. Secondly, he would call Mark and that hasn’t happened either. I’m not saying there’s a zero percent chance, but I am saying I think all of this is ridiculous and I know there’s a lot of false reporting out there. If urban entertains it it’s only to take a dig at his wannabe only to pass it up and get the last laugh. One thing I also know that no one is talking about. Urban and Mack are VERY close friends. Not sure if that’s public or not but they are and they talk very frequently. It’s common knowledge that the Texas boosters are insane and run the asylum. Urban hates it when people mettle and he would reject Texas for that reason alone. I have not spoken directly to urban, but guys, based off of who I’ve talked to and what I know about him, this just ain’t happening. "

    From last night

"Re Urban to Texas Pt 2

Yesterday the Urban to Texas rumors were picking up steam, I wanted to weigh in and stated that I was 95 percent sure he wasn’t leaving. Then said 99 percent after speaking to more people. Right now I have officially become 100 percent sure beyond a shadow of any and all doubt that Urban will not be going to Texas. It’s just not happening. I would NOT post this if I didn’t have impeccable sources and wasn’t more than a 100 percent sure. There has been a ton of BS about all of this. I will not be commenting further on any of this, but I can assure you that you can take this info to the bank. I thought about saying this all day but a conversation with the last domino just occurred and left me without any doubt. I’m sure a lot of hostility is about to ensue between our base and theirs. I personally love and respect Texas fans and I hope we can treat them with class and respect. We hate Tom, not their fans who did nothing we didn’t do when we thought Urban was coming here. Best of luck to Texas fans and players."

If you have to tell people how good your sources are, it probably means he doesn't have shit for sources.

  12. i've been out of the loop on recruiting since after 2020 signing day. what's the deal with SMU gaining steam on some top recruits in the state aside from Samples? i would imagine when it comes to OVs (if it ever does with the virus) that they would realize they would rather play somewhere that has more than around 20k fans at their games, or gives them a shot to compete at the highest level of competition. not necessarily arguing they should choose Texas, but i've been to high school games that have better atmospheres than SMU.
