  1. Haley Hudson is a 2020 commit. You can take your OV during your junior year now
  2. You must have quite the source in hr. Never heard White turned Texas down. Nor that Lombardi was the forerunner for the Texas job cause why would she consider a BIG 12 team? Obviously $$$$ talks. Did they offer Lombardi as much as White?
  3. Wow. I would like to delete all my previous posts. I was WRONG about everything. And I couldn't be more excited and happy for Texas softball. Way to go CDC. Just wow. 😃
  4. Ok...then we might as well toss EE from Mizzou into the fray. Why not? Those two treated/talked to players the same way. Fierce competitors perhaps but not politically correct. They like to win which was the cause of their demise. Earleywine is now employed as the athletic director for Jeff City Public Schools.
  5. CDC's first fail...so far. Let's see what happens this week. I sat next to a TCU volleyball coach from Dallas to Austin last week. He spoke so highly of CDC and what a dynamic man he is. The coach was positive CDC would make a great hire for Texas softball. I disagree at this point. The lack of urgency to announce a coach leads me to believe that CDC underestimated the stability and loyalty many softball coaches have towards their programs, players, AD's, and universities. Additionally, CDC doesn't understand the importance of recruiting in the months of June/July. If he did, someone would be in place by now. CDC hires a track coach immediately after the season is over. Track coach recruits by looking at a time sheet. You run fast. You jump high. Come to my great school. Softball coaches have to watch game after game...at bat after at bat...defense inning after inning. They invite kids to campus for camps...its a process that Texas is not part of this summer. Time is of the essence!
  6. IMO, Power 5 winning coaches are going to be a stretch to hire at this point. Next in line would be mid major college coaches that have had success. Has anybody thought about/mentioned Kristi Bredbenner, Wichita State? I hope she applied. Mizzou was afraid to play them this year. Shockers beat Texas. http://www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/article210172709.html
  7. Any theories on why CDC didn't post the opening before Memorial Day when CC resigned?
  8. Yep. Sooner is better. Friday would be day 10. Where are you getting transfer info? Mizzou's first baseman played catcher in regionals...to generate more offense. Are you thinking a Mizzou catcher could/would replace Ellsworth?
  9. You are right and I apologize if this is fake news from four years ago. You be right. I don't know the "whole story". How would I???? I do not intend to be "that guy"...and I will be terribly disappointed if Mercury News misrepresented this story. I researched this 3 years ago and believed it to be true. Guess you can't believe what you read on the internet....duh. Do you know the whole story and can you share? IMO Mike White is not a Texas Hook'em kind of guy. So lets move on to the next candidate...
  10. Think twice about what your wish for...Do your own research. https://www.mercurynews.com/2015/05/27/once-proud-stanford-softball-program-brought-to-its-knees/ “We had heard that Mike White was sort of an instigator or played a very major role in starting the tidal wave,” Winter said. White’s daughter was on Stanford’s 2014 team and left the squad midseason, seeking what is called a medical retirement. That designation would allow her to retain her scholarship without playing. Apparently that designation was not being granted and that brought the Oregon coach into the fray. White did not return requests to be interviewed.
  11. What are you talking about? Edit your post. EIGHTEEN YEARS! Love her and her twin sister. But I can't imagine them moving from Northwestern. New Great Athletic facility. Incredibly supportive AD. Has access to total feeder programs with Illinois teams and Beverly Bandits. Weird how her team performs at the same level as Connie Clarks team yet they can keep their jobs. Drohan doesn't win her conference. Doesn't make it to the WCWS. Highly academic school..like UT. I agree with whomever said Texas is a tough place to coach.
  12. What did he say??? DId not know Gasso gets a "STAY" Bonus. Never knew that was a thing. Her stay bonus is more $ than most DI head coaches' salary. 🤔 http://www.normantranscript.com/sports/all_ou_sports/ou-softball-recognized-gasso-gets-raise-lombardi-named-nation-s/article_ad281b01-23e0-5a61-97c0-725c8f7686cd.html Her stay bonus, which is given annually for each year she remains at OU, is increasing from $25,000 to $200,000. Gasso has been at Oklahoma since 1995, winning national championshipis in 2000, 2013, 2016 and 2017. The stay bonus brings Gasso's annual salary to $950,000, the highest in college softball, underscoring the school's commitment to the program.
  13. CDC must be wanting to do great things for softball cause they already spent money on facility this fall...Like a million dollars in upgrades. Personally I think McCombs Field currently ranks right up there in the NCAA for facilities as it stands. Its one of the nicer ones that I have been to. But if he is trying to entice a big time coach...he probs wants a big time plan to show the candidate(s)! The suspense builds....
  14. Exactly. So back to those posts on recruiting. Softball recruiting...especially from FLO SOFTBALL... is NOT the same as top 100 football and basketball lists that some of these prior posts have referenced. If folks on this blog think FLO softball is the equivalent ranking system as football and basketball, then they are misled. FLO Softball rankings and recruiting is highly controlled by club coaches/directors. It's subjective and based on recommendations. Class of 2017 #20 at Texas did not contribute this year. #40 at Oregon is NOT on Oregon's roster for the WSCS. Certain coaches and clubs build these kids resumes, submit to flo softball probs cause Flo softball is broadcasting and selling viewing rights to their tournaments. College coaches buy into this process...its all they got! It's not football where camps note every prospect's 40 time and you can see Florida's best play against Georgia's best! And paid journalists and football scouts cover every inch of the 50 states. "5 star" softball recruits fail at a significantly higher percentage than in football. How a sb recruit plays in one or two games can determine an offer. In addition, male athletes have a reason to keep getting better to get to the next level. It is called the NBA and NFL. If you haven't noticed, those contracts are much more lucrative than a NPF contract. Lol. Maybe some of these top rated high school softball players just fizzle out when they get to the next level. Recruiting matters a bunch. Maybe as much as basketball and football. But it is much harder to do it right in softball.
  15. Yep. Totally agree. Back to Texas...I don't think anyone would be announcing any coaching changes till after the holiday weekend.
  16. Wow. Rumor I hear is Jenn Rocha is going to Mizzou. This is interesting.
  17. What about Gerry Glasco? His resume is impressive. Nobody has mentioned this candidate.
  18. Not any more... https://nfca.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7784:it-passed-softball-recruiting-contact-date-set-at-september-1-junior-year&catid=284&Itemid=149
