Honestly, I think this national uproar is down to lack of committee communication. Their chair SUCKS at explaining reasoning.

If he came out and straight up said, "Well, we compared Texas to other two loss teams such Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Alabama and we feel that the Florida loss is one of the worst losses of the group even discounting Ohio State and their inconsistency has really held them back. Bama also has a bad loss but finished ahead of them in conference." I honestly don't think there would be that many people today that would be that upset. We might disagree with their reasoning, but if the communication was there, then I think there would be less uproar.

And having Notre Dame above Miami has pretty much killed all of their credibility.

But he can't do that and then let Bama in after this embarrassment and Florida throttling Florida State.  Why is a Florida State team playing an ACC schedule (SOS 44) that much better than a Florida team that had the 2nd schedule and throttled them head to head.

  2. The one thing Fifa prides itself on is keeping the politics as best they can away from their sport.  They don't want governments like the US DOJ investigating FIFA or any regional offices like Jack Warner and/or Chuck Blazer.   Mission accomplished today.   Lol

You guys need to give up the Baxter dream.

Disagree.  We can all hope and pray and wax poetic about Baxter all we want until he graduates out or hits the portal.   There is nothing wrong with rooting for and hoping the get the best year out of a kid who has by all accounts done his best to be a good teammate and represented UT well.  Obviously injuries suck and it's not his fault he got some bad ones.

What the scouting/GM/coach types need to do is to give up on the Baxter dream.  He's a lottery ticket if he stays on the roster.  If it hits next year, great.  If it doesn't, it was worth a roster spot for next year and hopefully diminished NIL with the understanding that he needs to help Cooper come along if it's not happening next year.

So, as our last remaining shot (as slight as it is), it seems like we need to root for blowouts in the major championships.

    1. Ohio State blows out Indiana to make our close loss look even better. Indiana drops somewhere in the 5-8 range.
    2. Tech crushes BYU again. BYU drops behind us and Miami. That puts Miami and Notre Dame next to each other in the rankings, and then the committee flips them based upon the head-to-head.
    3. Georgia destroys Alabama in a game that is never really competitive. Alabama drops behind Miami and Notre Dame.
    4. That puts us, Alabama, and Notre Dame all together.  Play against common opponents is a stated criterion of the committee. Alabama lost to OU (and Georgia in this scenario). Notre Dame lost to A&M. We beat both of those teams by double digits. The committee could use that to justify us jumping both of them. That would put Miami at 9, Texas at 10, Notre Dame/Alabama at 11 and 12.

What happens in the ACC doesn't really matter. Maybe I guess Duke winning it could adversely affect Miami.

Reality is we are out. But if you want to see a path, that appears to be it to me.

That’s why I asked the question the way I did because the Ohio St game doesn’t affect your place in the SEC standings - but the Florida loss does.

Georgia, Ole Miss, and Aggy all have fewer losses

OU and Bama are the same as Texas

    No committee.
    No polls.
Who does SEC send to the playoffs?

If they want money for each win, they send:

    1.  GA

    2.  Ole Miss

    3.  Aggie

    4.  Texas

    5.  Bama

    6.  OU

    7.  Vandy

If you go by best chance of winning it putting aside the tie breakers like head to head matchups, etc.  I'll even accept Bama at 4 and Texas at 5.  IMHO.

  6. I mean he attacked a media member who joked on a podcast that you can't make a housewife out of a hoe for calling him a hoe the day before your going to engage in prime hoe behavior.

    Kiffin sucks.
