He's an odd choice for backup plan - Sanders and Cain are tier 1, and then we know we're talking to guys like Brown, Glass, Barlow and Doerue.

I thought Hollins was in one of the notes recently about someone in contact with the staff?  I was thinking in terms of a late miss on Sanders/Cain to where the other guys have moved on.  I guess Glass is probably a more realistic pick than Hollins.

All I care about is getting Evans next year.  Evans and Demas would put the program back in national title contention.  I'm no daddy98 when it comes to reviewing film but from my amateur viewpoint, the only guy that has wowed me as much as Evans in watching highlights was Ezekiel Elliottt.

  2. It's amazing how my playing around with the class calculator and putting Mike Hollins in as the RB take from this class spiraled into that entire conversations about RB's, Drayton, etc.  That's just who I threw in there as the potential RB take if Sanders and Cain are misses.

I think there's no reason Drayton shouldn't land Evans next year, so I wouldn't complain if Hollins was the RB in this class.  He actually might be a guy who is underrated.

  3. Had some fun with the class calculator, with a class size of 26.  Added Cine, Davis, Wright, Johnson, Washington, Catalon, Henry, Tongue, Shepherd, Cooper, Gbenda, Carter, and Hollins to the current commits for a score of 291.73.  I still think that this year will be the down year compared to last year and next year, but that would be an awesome finish...even if it is low on interior OL and DT's.

  4. I plugged in a "realistic" best case scenario for them finishing with Carter, Harris, Stripling, Wydermyer, Ugwoegbu, and Doerue to be at 28 commits and the calculator puts them at 286.71.  For the record, Bama with 21 commits is already at 286.11.  Jimbo "killing it" on the recruiting trail with his recruiting rainmakers will probably only finish with the 3rd or 4th best class in the conference as their peak before the wheels come off in subsequent years.

No, they believe that other teams’ recruits are skewed upwards, but all their recruits are skewed downwards.

Makes total sense...I mean all of that 3 star bread that Jimbo has scoured the country to find.  The recruiting analysts and BOMC are so scared of the A&M juggernaut, that they're significantly underrating these guys as 3 stars months or even years before they know Jimbo is interested because of the fear that A&M will win national championships every year once Jimbo finds these hand picked studs.

  6. So they brag about being #2 in the country based off of those recruiting rankings but then bash those same recruiting rankings because their average recruit ranking is low?  Apparently in Aggieland, calorie free cakes DO exist.

Translation: "These rankings are only legit when they support my delusional beliefs, but when the same rankings don't, it's the stupid sip BOMC trying to keep the greatest football juggernaut of all time down because they're scared of Jimbo!"

I bet he ends up at Missori, Ole Miss, or Houston.

I hope not.  Would like to see him in Burnt Orange.  I get wanting guys like David, McCoy, Tongue, and Cooper ahead of him but I don't really think enough of those guys commit to where there isn't room for Gbenda.

  8. Are they slow playing Ellis and Anderson because they don't want to scare Wright to Aggy?  I'd take Ellis right now and then take whichever of Wright or Higgins wants to come.

I have a feeling we'll close out with Ellis and Anderson.
