i belong to the one in Waco...it's not even close to PF.  the only similarity is in the price, and that's only if you're buying the weightroom/cardio and use of locker room package (which is the level i've got).  if you want to do the HIIT and cardio classes, tanning beds, massage as well as work out at other Crunch gyms, you jump to $29/month.

at least here it's a legit gym with some serious people in it.

last i checked there's no PF with 6 power clean stations...

That's good news. Glad to see it's a real gym.

  2. Anybody ever heard of Crunch Fitness? They are opening locations in Tyler/Longview. Hoping it takes away some traffic from my gym. They seem to be Planet Fitness ish.

She trying to do curls? Fucking idiot

Pec-dec dudes' reaction tells me that this isn't the first gym calamity caused by her idiocy.

Tyler Texas, where I do my work day driving, leads the world in red light right-of-way granted to nonexistent drivers at the newest intersections with the newest equipment on the poles.

If anything it's a nice change of pace to get me back in the gym. They have everything I need at this point in my gym life.

That's pretty much my line of thinking with Anytime Fitness.

I worked out at Barksdale AFB recently and for a brief second, it had me wanting to join an actual gym again.

  6. In 2 days,  International chest day coincides with the first day of Spring break. I'm just hoping it brings out the teacher talent that it brought out over Christmas.

  7. Listening to sports talking heads on the radio......"right" is about to overtake "literally" ,  "at the end of the day" and "let's be honest" as required statements.

He is a good QB, right? He wants a big contract, right? He is going to get drafted in the first round, right?.... At first I thought it was just this Alex Marvez character. I still don't know who he is. But it seems to be about every other guest on whatever show I am listening to.

and for the corporate-speak guru's...the word "future" is outdated. It is now "on a go-forward basis".

After reading the other trivial thread, and all the bitching and moaning about various chicken places, I realized that one of the things that pleases me most in the world is the smell of cooking chicken outside any chicken restaurant. I mean, literally, any of them, even the ones I don't actually like. Fried, grilled, roasted, whatever. The smell of cooking chicken puts a smile on my face every damned time.

I work out at lunch in a gym that is behind a Chicken Express. I haven't eaten at CE in at least 9 years, but good lord, the smell when I come out of the gym makes it incredibly tempting.

  9. This thread died but we have January on the horizon. These are not peeves but things that make me chuckle/smirk:

Orgasm guy. If you are lifting heavy, by all means let out a grunt or 2. If it sounds like you are about to ejac, people are going to laugh.

Hoodie on/hoodie up. It's just funny.

Talking to your girl via bluetooth as you do dumbbell curls. Why bother.

The gym being packed on Monday and empty on Friday will never get old. College bros home between semesters does.

  10. Went to Hutchins in Frisco on Saturday. That was my 2nd visit. As per the first time, I got brisket, ribs and jalapeno cheese sausage, no sides. With my son living in Frisco, this will become a habit.  I know places can have off days, but I am 2 for 2 in getting excellent, above average BBQ here.

Bodacious Gladewater reopens today under the ownership of Jordan Jackson.  He will be cooking at and running this location.

  11. The "just sayin" folks of 5 years ago are the "literally" folks of today.

Today's rival to "literally" is "super".  Super excited or just merely excited?

If you talk to someone who over uses "super", odds are that they are "just sayin" and "literally" people too.  You get a free pass if you just walk away from the conversation.
