Sorry I did not realize you were an LSU fan. It's in your name but it didn't register that there would be non-Texas fans in this thread. I still don't really understand the comment. With Mack we ended up in purgatory because of his accomplishments and the goodwill he had built up. Herman does not have enough of either to coast for 5 years. I think he'll either win big or the team will implode dramatically. Our program has had extreme highs and extreme lows every year under Herman so far. Eventually one of those two will win out. And it's not looking good. I think Malzahn is a more apt comparison than Mack.

And sorry I didn't mean to take a shot at LSU. Y'all are hot right now and probably have a great future but there are still lots of questions this off season. I have no idea how it will play out but you'll be one of the most interesting teams in the country this offseason

Nah it's ok I don't disagree. I actually root for UT...at times harder than my own alma mater.  My kid's a UT student. I do care about the success of the program. I just think the UT job is too big for Tom. I don't want to see UT get stuck in the ever revolving coordinator door when the root of the problem is the guy in charge.

Washington and Naivar's units have at least shown a ton of improvement over the course of the season. Good DB play and stout run D by the DL are the only things holding this defense together.

For me there are three tiers of coaches right now:

    Fire: Orlando, Warehime, Mehringer, Meekins

Can see both sides but I don't personally have a strong opinion: Washington, Naivar, Herman, Drayton, Giles

    Keep: Hand, Beck

and all you accomplish is delaying the inevitable ala Mack Brown. It's not going to be a fun next few years for you. To think, a few years ago I was pissed we settled for ed. College Football is a cruel bitch sometimes.

A Baylor win should seal Tom's fate.  If Baylor kills ousux and, even worse, wins the conference, Tom is done.  He got lapped by Ruhle, Ogre, and the dude at FL.

He ain't winning shit here.  Time to go now.

Well either you go get Urban or fuck around and watch him go to OU. I guess the on the bright side he'll push tom's shit in so far CDC would have no choice but replace him.

PJ Fleck is a good option, and he has now proven to be successful at the P5 level

Weve tried up and comers now twice and its been a failure. We need a proven commodity

Bingo. Texas is a beast and you need the best to tame the beast. I get tired of hearing how easy it should be to win there. Frankly I think it's probably harder because of all the noise that comes with coaching there. You need someone like Urban or Nick. Someone's who's used to it. Just my opinion.

Meanwhile a well coached Baylor team that was 1-11 a few years ago is going up 21-3 on ousux

Haven't your heard the tom supporters? it takes at least 5 years to rebuild. Just give Tom 2 more and OU time to hire urban. That'll work out great.

There is stuff with Meyer that hasn't come out that would make this thread such a terrible idea that it never would have been posted.

I'm fine with being dirty to win in some senses (like Alabama) but not like the stuff Meyer has done.

Then you can sit on your hands and watch Oklahoma grab him when Riley leaves this year and make Herman his bitch every year. That's what you're facing if you don't dump Tom this year.

Classic comment from trailer trash that begged Herman to come to LSU, only to be ghosted.

Lighten up everyone. It's not like we have vince lombardi in Baton Rouge. I never said we got it right either. I have to see how he game plans for Alabama before I anoint him anything....oh and we might not even win tonight. We might be just as pissed in a few hours.

I agree that, despite the close score and back and forth nature of the second half, it never seemed like we would win.  OU always seemed in control.

But, in the Mack days, this game would have been 52-21 or something like that.  The first time something went wrong, it snowballed into a blowout.  Give this team credit.  They fight until the very end.  Herman deserves some credit for that.

You looked unprepared against the two good teams you played this year.  You have a major coaching issue. Those kids looked lost today. Talented yes?...but lost.

You're right about one thing..Mack would have lost that game by 40

We have defensive linemen, including giant nose guard types like Coburn and Sweat.  Roach at nose is just Orlando fancying himself an innovative wizard and outsmarting himself.

Frankly I think both defenses are a fucking embarrassment. LSU just got lucky that orlando is a bigger buffoon than Ed....but not by much.

  10. I just had to share this gem from TexAgs. They really do think they are the '85 bears. There is no more delusional fan base in college football.

    "OldShadeOfBlue 11:42p, 1/1/19 AG
Georgia was outplayed at every position tonight. Their DL really struggled to put pressure on Ehlinger and their passing game was shut down by the Texas secondary. Fromm looked terrible. Ehlinger is the best thing Texas has had since Colt and really puts them on another level.

I hate to say it but the Big 12 came out a lot better in the bowl season than I expected. OU played Bama closer than we thought they would and Texas outright beat our #2 team as a 14 point dog. They still are not on our level but they're getting close."

Hilarious. They are gifted a win against us and now they are Alabama haha.

Congrats on the win last night that was impressive. You guys showed you can play with anyone when you're at your best. I can't wait for our match up. It's going to be fun.

  11. SEC is no different than any other conference. We have good teams and bad teams. It's just the best conference overall because of one thing...Nick Saban. Take out Saban and it's nothing special. I honestly don't know how Aggies are going to be able to emotionally handle saban retiring. We'll probably need you guys to do welfare checks for us.

Yeah....in the end, this guy simply wasn't a very good football player.

Though it's kind of exciting to know you can win 9 games starting a guy at DE who does literally nothing all year. Imagine when you actually have a player at that position.

I would be more concerned that the coaches thought he was the best you had at that position.
