Put a pan on the stove, take tortillas out of the package, throw the tortillas in pan for 30 seconds, take em out, throw your eggs in, cook a couple minutes, throw your already cooked fajitas in, dump contents in the warmed tortillas, profit!!

A run to Whataburger for taquitos is much easier.

We’re finally getting Whataburger franchises up here in Nashville. 🥳

  2. Had 50 yd line upper deck all through the 80s -early 90s before moving to Nashville. As the years when on we got closer to the lower part until we were 4-5 rows above the railing.  Great seats actually.  You definitely see the plays form.

With the thrill of victory, we also experienced the agony of defeat last week. Saturday's Men's Basketball game was a heartbreaker as Coach Smart and our No. 9 Longhorns were stunned in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by Abilene Christian. It was a tough night all the way around as our Longhorns just couldn't find a groove, made far too many turnovers, and in the end came up one-point short, 53-52. Watching from Indy, it was just gut-wrenching seeing such a wonderful group of student-athletes experiencing such a disappointing end to a season that included so much success, like the Maui Invitational title (played in Asheville, N.C. due to the pandemic, of course), our first-ever Big 12 Tourney Championship, a No. 9 final ranking in the AP Poll and a 19-8 overall record. It was not how any of us wanted it to end and was so abruptly and truly devastating for us all, but like all competitors and those of us in athletics do, we must pick ourselves up off the mat, dust off and get back to work.

Except that the newness of the arena will trump the bad coach factor.  Everybody in Austin will want to see the new joint.

You could put a cardboard rendition of Abe Lemons and the arena will be full every time.

    Would probably win more games.

  6. Hmmmm go from a possible outside 1 seed all the way down to 8/9 seed and out a job?   Same shit different year.  What’s the definition of insanity again??

Maybe this is meant to be.

I think we learned that an NFL job for the shittiest team in the league is more enticing than any CFB job

No nagging BCs or other busybodies plus the money is pretty damn good.  Granted there will be the owner Shahid Khan who probably thinks he really knows better how to run a football franchise.  Then there’s Florida.

No, you just don't know what you're watching. The ball was underthrown by at least 3 yards.

It's okay, lots of Americans sound really dumb when discussing soccer so you're not alone on this kind of thing. It's often helpful for new fans to use reference points. For example, on this play Dixon is 4+ yards ahead of the linebacker and still separating when the camera picks him up. He is 1.5 yards ahead when he catches it. You can also see him clearly start chopping his steps at the 40 yard line. This is most visible when he steps at the 36 yard line with his right foot and then the 35 yard line with his left foot.

However, if you think an FBS wide receiver has a 1 yard stride or that slowing down to a 1 yard stride then speeding back up to a 2.25 yard stride qualifies as never breaking stride then it's probably not a new fan thing, it's just a general lack of athletic knowledge.

The dumbest part about choosing this argument is that Thompson made a world class throw to Brewer on another play but most fans are unable to identify who did what on a play. Long touchdown equals Aaron Rodgers like throw hurr durr. Not to mention what I previously said regarding this play in that when your receiver is that far ahead of a much slower defender you don't even want your QB to throw a perfectly in stride ball. You'd rather he do what Thompson did and underthrow it by a few yards.

    Glad to help.

And it actually is important to recognize exactly what happened on this play because it showed that Kelvontay Dixon has excellent ball tracking skills which a lot of our receivers lately have lacked.  Receivers who are fast but have terrible ball skills aren't actually good deep threats. Brennan Eagles, whom I like as a receiver more than most around here but think he wasn't utilized correctly, would have read the trajectory more slowly, taken 2 or 3 extra full speed strides, then would have had to come to almost a stop, turn around and face the ball, make the catch, and get tackled at the 25.

Dixon recognized the trajectory immediately, began slowing down, reached his slowest speed at the 35, then accelerated through the catch around the 31. He made a really good play on the ball that enabled the touchdown and he isn't getting enough credit.

Thompson’s best pass was the one to Brewer in stride after he danced away from the rusher.  Damn that was a sweet throw.  Brewer didn’t slow down at all.

Not like Texas coaches has a history of using their QBs as battering rams to destroy their shoulders and heads.  Colt, David Ash and Sam can start a support group.

    Speaking of....what’s DA doing now?

Nope we got back to The Point around 3-4 am Sunday morning.  It was 42 years ago the memory is a little murky. I just remember going from room to room in the Ben Franklin with bathtubs filled with ice and beer.  Good gawd was there a lot of beer. Remember back then the drinking age was 18.

  11. Went to the 78' game at JFK Stadium (Philly) as a Plebe and we got killed, but yelled are asses off.  Of course we trashed the BF Hotel and when home about 3 am then that Monday we were chewed by the Gen Bard the Commandant of Cadets and said EVERYONE's pay would be docked until the $50k damage bill was satisfied.  Then he said "great spirit" at the game.  Go figure.
