I always root for Michigan in this game but it would be funny to see the B1G knocked out of the CFP race (no way does tOSU make the leap up to #4).

If Florida v Georgia is the worlds largest cocktail party what is this matchup? The world's largest moonshine party? The world's largest meth matchup?
The worlds thickest family pole?

Is it? Can I spear your ass in the head?
Only if I can hit you out of bounds and throw you to the ground after the whistle.

Officiating has been so one-sided so far. Calling everything on Kansas.

It almost depresses me to think of what could have been for Young and even a guy like McNair if not for Fisher. Seriously. Ugh.
Or had he stayed for his Sr year

2004 USC: 38.2 PPG - 12.5 PPG allowed, differential of 25.7 PPG
2005 USC: 49.1 PPG - 21.3 PPG allowed, differential of 27.8 PPG
They traded defense for offense and beat their opponents by an average of 2.1 PPG more than the previous year. Pretty far stretch saying the 2004 team was more dominant simply because you prefer defense over offense.
Ask yourself this.? Does Vince run over that 2004 defense like he did the 2005 defense?

The 2004 team has 3 games where they won by less than a touchdown and 5 games that were within two touchdowns. The 2005 team only had one game that was within 7 and a total of 3 that were within two touchdowns. If the 2005 D took two steps back, their O took 4 steps forward. That team cracked 50 pts 7 times! The 2004 team didn't do that once. 34 points was their lowest output in 2005. The 2004 team didn't crack 30 in 3 games.
But the defense made that 2004 much better. You didn’t really fear the 2005 defense

I think so too.
Just compare their defensive lines. Like night and day.

Auburn played a pretty weak schedule that year and then barely beat 10-2 VT in their bowl game. Interestingly, VT lost to USC in the first game of season by 11. That USC team was actually quite a bit less dominant than the one we beat the next year.
The 2004 USC was a better team than the 2005 version. The 2005 team took two steps back defensively. If anything, that 2004 team was more dominant and more balanced.

Personally I don't think it would have mattered. Tigers may have given them a better game but that SC team was really, really fucking good.
Who knows. It was arbitrary and Auburn played a much tougher schedule. Would have been a much better game with Auburn winning a close one.

Because there were 3 undefeated P5* teams that season... that wasn't an issue with the rankings that was an issue with not having play in games.
That was most of it, and seeing OU get blown out only showed they had the wrong two teams in it and how much of a joke it was. Should have been a split title.

Aside from the "national title" game that featured (redacted) against (redacted) and left the Pokes out - did the BCS ever get the matchup wrong? You could argue 2008 but that was more of a CCG issue.
In 2004 they left out undefeated Auburn

As stupid as this CCG format is is for the Big 12, this still should be an afternoon or evening game, even if it does compete with the others. This will be probably the best game of the day.
