Closetojumping is one of those guys who no one in his life takes seriously so he has to feel like a big man to be the content manager on a random message board. It shouldn't be so much fun to trigger him but I can't help myself.

@closetojumping is one of the main reasons I show up here. Someone like you literally adds nothing of substance... he at least has a lot of inside knowledge and legitimate takes.

ERCOT has done a good job developing that app, so it useful for folks looking to better understand the grid, for sure.

Part of my livelihood depends upon this space, so we use more advanced data. If you want to see some things that get a little closer to industry and dork out, here are few:

This is a link to the real time pricing by 15 minute interval, ie., what the market cleared at:

    https://www.ercot.com/content/cdr/html/20221223_real_time_spp.html

In the link above, the columns to the right are most indicative of costs to utilities in the market, the load zones. The one with AE in the title is Austin Energy, the one with CPS is San Antonio for those that care.

This is a link below to what the Day Ahead Market (DAM) cleared at, ie., a glimpse into what kind of load and scarcity the market is actually anticipating:

    https://www.ercot.com/content/cdr/html/20221223_dam_spp.html

Tomorrow’s market will clear around 1pm today. The link above shows you that heavy load and certain scarcity were anticipated for today. The reason real time prices went even higher this morning is that the forecasted load ended up being off by like 9,000 MWs this morning, which is considerable. That’s an indicator to me that they were expecting less commercial load today than what come in, because that would be a fuckton of residential overage.

This link is to the Abilene station on WindGuru. It’s one of the better indicators of what kind of wind gen you can expect on the grid from the West Zone in Texas. Tomorrow is abnormally not windy, which is common following a truly extreme arctic front.

Do you trade? I've been trading ERCOT for the last 8 years give or take.

I can’t believe some of the whining on here about the UTSA game. I figured there’d be handwringing about Tech, sure, but people are down on the UTSA win? Some of you guys are for real stupid.

Tech’s QB sucks. We get a reprieve after facing two witches over the last two games, Texas gets to play a human. He’s also a turnover machine. Yes, please!

Tech doesn’t have playmakers on offense. The TBs aren’t dynamic. They don’t have a deep threat. The OL isn’t great.

Defensively, Tech’s defense is fine, but they’re not forcing turnovers. Fend off Tyree Wilson and isolate him and you can do what you want against them with UT’s size and speed.

It’s Lubbock, Texas has to go in ready. That said, Ewers will be starting and Texas will have some energy with that.

If this Texas team is legitimately good, they’ll win and cover and get fired up to beat the shit out of West Virginia the following week. These are games you have to win, and relatively stress free.

Just dropped a $100 on Texas to cover because of this

  4. I've got two conspiracy theory ideas:

    1) We needed to fire Tom and have a publicly available job for a little while

    2) Urban wanted us to put the word out we were hiring Sark to maybe fuck up the Alabama players a little bit

Not surprising, but depressing, that the most blackout anyone here has gotten for a Texas football game has happened almost unanimously in the past decade.

2008 Texas - Texas Tech. Roommate and I didn't say a word after the game. Went straight to the freezer and pulled out the Jager. Can't remember much besides yelling about Crabtree and Blake Gideon.

Will Stein - offensive coordinator and QBs coach at Lake Travis High School

Played QB at Louisville, grad assistant under Strong at Louisville, QC at UT under Strong, retained by Herman in 2017 working with QBs and has been the OC at Lake Travis for the past 2 years coaching up recent signee Hudson Card. Travis plays for a state championship this weekend and Lake Travis currently has the position for OC posted on their website.

    That will be $9.95

I find this interesting and he is probably going to coach somewhere at a collegiate level, but there is no way in hell that he magically becomes our OC.

Seems like the only logical thing to do now is for someone to tweet Bru and explain this to him, right?

Lulz. This is great but can we get Bru in a UT uniform?

I'll work on it.  Of course I fucked up so that it doesn't quote. Maybe this will work.
