  1. Noticing the new staff has something in common.

The ability to recruit Georgia. If they hire Buckner this will make it even more so.

No reason for UGA and Clemson to be able to recruit Texas without receiving collateral damage.

  2. Ash knows secondary coaches.

At Rutgers his first CB coach went to the NFL

The other is Valai who is at Texas

Ash's other secondary coach was Bill Busch who went to LSU and is now the leading guy for the Baylor DC job.

Research all the secondary guys Ash has worked with.

  3. K State fans said they have no problem with Sean Snyder just not as a Head Coach.

Their anger at him was because his Dad was trying to strong arm K State into nepotism.

Guy played under Hayden Fry and Bill Snyder and coached under Snyder.

I don't understand the reasoning as a TE coach.

But I wouldn't say that is a bad thing for sure especially since he wants to be a Head Coach.

Motivation is the key. He needs a springboard.

Of all the failures from the Texas coaching staff, the inability of the offense to adapt to the loss of Cade Brewer (the only credible blocking AND receiving threat on the roster last season) was perhaps the most galling and inexplicable. Yes, the TE is a major weapon in today's football, and our offense relies on it frequently. To simply continue to stubbornly run the same plays with no dual threat was sheer stupidity.

I'm looking forward to that ineptitude being corrected.

Won't be a problem next year.

Wiley has a good chance to pass Brewer next year.

If anything under Herman you see after QB the H Back/TE is the second most important position. Even more than the slot WR.

I assume the random handful of Rutgers fans that exist have to be looking at what we’re doing and they’re completely bewildered. I mean, so are we, but they have to be clicking around with their jaws dropped and their finger touching their chin and thinking in their Jim Gaffigan voice: “I don’t think they meant to do that at all. Did they?”

The guy he replaced ended up in the NFL with the NY Giants.

    So who knows

He's a rainmaking recruiter at a school that allows him to be a bagman. Does that translate at schools where that's tougher to pull off?

At the very least, he'd help out with Louisiana prospects who LSU doesn't push for, but I'm skeptical of bagman coaches at Texas

Kansas RB coach Tony Hull has more pull in New Orleans than Frank Wilson.

By the way, in light of the Naivar news...

Does any other dipshit want to come on here and wax philosophic about how it's completely normal for Ash to be taking his sweet ass fucking time, and how Naivar just interviewed for his job yesterday? Does anyone really fucking believe he interviewed for his job, hopped on a plane, and interviewed for Tech and got the position within 24 hours of his first interview and contact with Chris Ash? Because that's basically the narrative several people were putting forth yesterday.

Geeze, it's almost like Matt Wells was reaching out and talking to people to put together his fucking staff well in advance.

He was evaluating the coaches before the bowl game.

It wasn't a for sure thing all of them were going to be replaced.

We’re going to end up with a bunch of guys who coached at Drake and Shippensberg 15 years ago.

Hopefully Doeren gets fired at NC State pretty soon.

Would make a great LB coach.

Ash's other buddy from Drake Charlie Partridge is considered a Top tier DL coach.

I would take both of Ash's friends from Drake.

Ok then make him defensive running game coordinator Or some shit like that. It’s really just making up a special title and bumping his pay.

That should be Chris Ash's decision.

If Ash is the type who cares more about creating the best staff than being the only DC he is the guy right for the job.

  10. Partridge was Co DC at Wisconsin and Arkansas with Chris Ash

Rumor is he wants to become a HC again so why not recreate the initial situation where he became a HC and that is working with Chris Ash.

If he does leave it will be as Co DC.

Wow what an incredible coincidence! Two of the best defensive coaches in the country happened to be roommates! That’s like Tommy Lee Jones rooming with Al Gore!

    Also failed head coaches.

He is someone Ash trusts on his staff.

FAU had to pay 200K what was left on the 1 mil they owned him for 2 years.
Logic says that he is only making 400K at Pitt

That’s bullshit, with a capital B.  Clay never offered him a starting WR job,  Graham Harrell is in full charge of the offense, not Coach Helton.  Amon-Ra, Tyler, Micheal and Kyle Ford have something to say about that.

Scott NEVER said Bru was offered the starting job, Scott is a personal friend for many years, my Twitter account is basically advertising his site.

Also false is Bru’s dad not being impressed with the Horns spring game.  None of this has anything to do with the University of Texas football program or the team.

    Are you Maya?

SC just latched their name to a 6-3 WR that runs a 4.6 40.

He won't ever get drafted in the first round or even the second day unless he moves to LB.

So this gives Texas leverage on what happens if you stay home at SC.

Look at the 40 times of the WRs who were drafted in the last two drafts. This isn't changing. Only players who are drafted in the first round at WR are 5-11 180 slot WRs that run 4.4 and under 40s.

  13. They are in a war with each other.

If you want the Scoop on SC go to Scott Schrader.

USC promised Bru McCoy the starting WR position something that wasn't going to happen at Texas.

Plus there was the spring game. I think McCoy's father was not impressed.

Thing is very few WRs are drafted in the first round anymore. So I think his Dad is idiotic to think a 6-3 WR that runs a 4.5+ 40 will be drafted in the first round.

Tell me more about what usc insiders know about the Texas football team and who they don’t like.

Scott Schrader is the one responsible

He will either look like an idiot or look like the guy who knows his stuff.

He broke the news a few days ago. Says Texas knows about Bru and the coaching staff visited him in Rancho Palos Verdes last week.

  15. Be careful what you say because a lot of the info is untrue.

SC insiders are claiming Tom Herman was with the McCoys early last week trying to talk Bru into coming back.

Plus Bru hateful Austin and wasn't well liked by his teammates.
