I expect these boys to be along any time now to apologize and eat their crow...  oh, wait, this isn't a political thread.  Carry on.

Mr. Doom, please accept my sincere apologies for the misinformation included in my previous post. The crow was quite delicious.

Thank you.  Been watching for a long time and am glad to have some people to ask “how do I get awesome really quickly” since I’m sure y’all have the answers.

You buy more guitars, amps and pedals. It's the only way to be sure it's not the gear that's holding you back.

Nothing.  It's for the Yamaha classical on the right.

I had a fairly inexpensive Yamaha classical when I was in about 8th grade.  It was a great little guitar, but I had yet to really get into Willie, so I sold it.  One of the very few that I think, "Man, that was a great guitar, I shouldn't have sold it."  I still haven't replaced it but that's because I want to get a legit Spanish classical.  Or a Martin N-20, of course.

You sit on a throne of lies. I just know this is in there.

In Aug or Sept I will begin helping my friend liquidate his guitar collection. He's decided its time. There are over 50 guitars in these cases. Ive only been inside a few of them but if that's any indication, we are in for a treat.

So, here is the weirdo that I am. I see the room and my brain immediately thinks "I wonder what's in the Yamaha gig bag?"

Well I want to be with Susanna Hoffs, but here we are.

You are already at the front of the line for '64/'65 Strats. You can't be in this line too.

I continue to stand by the assertion that if those who hire undocumented employees where fined/jailed for doing so, things would get shook up pretty nicely.

I agree. We should also publicly shame them with local police mugshot photos like they use to do with men caught in prostitution stings. Then, of course, ship them off to a 3rd world country supermax.

This weekend I ran about 500 rounds through a Bul Armory Tac Pro 5" with Holosun 508t multi and really enjoyed it.

Only issue is that when it got a little dry the slide lock lever wouldn't always engage but that's on me.

Very enjoyable to shoot and it's only limiting factor was my ability.  Nice gun.

Also ran a box through my Manurhin MR88 which I hadn't done in a long time.  Sweet shooter especially with .38s.

Biggest revelation there is that my eyes are going and I can't see the front sight for shit.  Researching replacements since I don't want to paint it.  Getting old sucks.

I am having a set of Meprolight HyperBrights to my USP for that exact reason. The larger front sight color helps me a lot. I have considered going with an optic, but I refuse to modify a stainless USP.

Transfers and differentials are very easy. just pull the fill plug FIRST...  Only issue was the village idiot that designed the fill plug on the front diff of my 01 4Runner. Einstein used a plug with hex insert instead of a six sided plug. Almost impossible to get enough space to pull down and remove it since it was hidden by frame.  Had to get it way up on ramps first.

If it is the same plug as the Tacoma (I assume it is), the Lexus plug is compatible and is 6 sided. I have them waiting in my garage for when it's time to change the fluids.

Definitely agree to confirm that you can take off the fill plug BEFORE you remove the drain plug.

Joined the club, bought a ‘17 Tacoma TRD Off Road with 95k miles on it.  What should I expect?  And is it called a “Taco”?  Pardon being a newb.

Congrats. Do you have any previous service records? I’d just make sure the past owner kept up with the maintenance items. There is probably some stuff due at 100K (coolant etc).

I do feel like most people ignore the diff/t-case fluids and u joint/zerks. Those are all easy to do yourself and it gives you a zero point going forward.

  12. Glue trap issues have already been mentioned. I will add that bait traps suck even worse. We had a neighbor use them and I got to see the after effects on the poor fox that ate the rodents they were trying to kill. It was terrible. Kill the mice directly with snap or electric traps. They breed fast, so it will take a while to bring down the population to something manageable.

You mentioned no indoor cats, what about an outdoor cat? There are rescues that specialize in finding homes for cats that will be exclusively outside (garage/barn) and are happy to be around, but not your indoor lap cat.

    https://tnrtexas.com/barn-cats

Also, if you do decide to inhumanely trap them, 300 yards is not enough. You need to release them at least a mile away from your house.

So I was actually half right and half wrong about the pick experiment. I indeed did not end up wanting any of these picks I bought. But.... I did end up favoring something different than my purple Tortex for some of my Strat playing. One of my very first picks, which I still somehow have, don't ask me how. The old Fender Medium 351 celluloid confetti from the late 80s early 90's, but played with the shoulder and not the point. Well, it actually doesn't really have a point anymore, but still.

If anyone can find these I will absolutely pay money for them, as apparently they were only made for a couple years. All the other confettis have darker colors, there was like a 3 year run of the ones with bright pink and light blue.  The one on the right is a normal confetti, the one in the middle is as close as I've found, I think it's a mid 80's era.

This may be more of that middle option, but 2 sets available on eBay

  15. I went to the Seattle EMP museum years ago. They had an AC/DC exhibit at the time with a vintage Angus school boy outfit on display. I knew he was short, but holy crap that thing was tiny. Like legit English school child size. Happy Birthday Wee Angus! We salute you!

Batteries don't die after 10 years and don't need to be replaced. That's just fearmongering by others. I also think there are more fast chargers than you think. Colorado is also pretty well covered with fast chargers, especially if you have access to the Tesla Supercharger Network (which most vehicles do now or will soon). Hard to find where there would be any concerning distance between chargers here. Although I admit some of those uphill climbs may be concerning if you don't have a good amount of charge coming into them (but downhill gains energy, so that's nice).

Colorado itself is great with regard to chargers. I drive DFW to Denver about 8-10x per year. It's not a well supported route. The Supercharger network finally opening up helps, but in cold weather that stretch between Amarillo and Trinidad has kept me from converting so far. I'm eyeing a Rivian, but using the Superchargers still has me putting money in Musk's pocket
