In LSU's last three road games, they lost to Florida, beat an atrocious Arkansas team 24-17, and lost to middling (albeit ref-aided) aggy. In their bowl game, they edged out UCF, which was playing with their backup QB. One thumping of Georgia State and countless declarations of a new, unbeatable offense later and they are suddenly world beaters and 4-point favorites on the road over Texas? I understand SECSECSEC and all that, but I'm not seeing the basis for this seemingly widespread confidence that LSU is going to roll into Austin and pull out a huge road win over a team that plays very well in big games.

Good to see aggy already looking to 2022 as their year in recruiting.

Roschon seemed much quicker to make a decision on which hole to hit and immediately accelerated through it. Ingram seems a little slow at times to see what has opened up as opposed to what he was expecting. But, I’ve actually noticed this about all our backs over the past few years and it makes me think it’s coaching.
I believe Herman mentioned in the postgame that Ingram still needs to improve his vision and patience. It was surprising because that seems like one of the strongest parts of his game. That also led me to believe that it's something being emphasized by the coaches.

There are some players who, from the first time they step on the field as true freshmen, already stand out, guys like Shaun Rogers, Derrick Johnson, Cedric Benson, Vince Young, and Caden Sterns. I'm not sure Sweat flashed to that level, but he sure looked like he belonged. From his first play, you're already turning your head saying, "Who's that?"
It was also interesting to see Jake Smith targeted 8 times. Some of those throws were a bit off and the routes he was asked to run didn't always play to his strengths, but the number of looks he got tells you Sam already has a lot of confidence in him.

Collins must've seen South Carolina and Ole Miss today and decided to take the easy way out in the BDF.

Any notable injuries for LSU today? Because that would be a real shame.

T Sweat is a grown ass man! He looked good out there. Did I see him and Coburn out there at the same time?
Yes, Sweat was at nose for the majority of his snaps, but he also lined up at right end several times with Coburn at nose.
I noticed that Sweat was double-teamed on his first two snaps and pushed back the double team both times. He certainly looks the part.

Some other barnburners on-going as well.

Leave your basement, cubicle, corner office, examination room, cockpit, or wherever you are and talk to some real people every once in awhile. We'll all be better for it.

LOL, WTF is this? He had the blocks. He just panicked. Not good pocket presence here. Could be a long day for him against our D-line if he's prone to skittishness like this.
They're running a new, no-panic offense this year.

Has anyone read Hudson Card's palm yet?
They'd have to see it first.

Kurt asks about the Maryland losses
I'm imagining the question going something like this: "Coach, since the media are only allowed to watch practice for 30 minutes and weren't given a depth chart, how will week 1 be different from the past two seasons?"

In the last few weeks they've "lost" Van Pran, Lindburg and likely Evans to Georgia. Alford, Eaton, Princely and Broughten have chosen the Flagship University of aggy's own state over them. They can't even get their 6th snd 7th choices to give them a commitment. How long before Bilbo starts feeling like this?
But they're getting Collins, you see. And Bilbo and Co. are still leaving voicemail for Evans, Alford, Princely, and Broughton. Real. Recruiting.

Commit today or lose your spot is such a strange recruiting strategy.
We want you today but won’t want you tomorrow.
Mack Brown went through a phase where he wouldn't offer unless the prospect promised to commit, so there is some precedent.

He’s a CB, all the way. No school is considering him as anything else.
He’ll either pan out at CB or transfer.
For some reason, there was chatter here the past two weeks about him (a) not being a CB or (b) being a WR prospect. I'm not sure where that came from, but I agree that he's a CB all the way.

So, apparently they are looking at him as a CB.

This is well put. futureman is a voluminous shitheel that adds little to no humor and even less insight. I’m all for humorous trolling. Maybe someday that dipshit will stumble into some of it.
Probably around the same time you stumble into some adjectival originality, you pedant.

Well, this is their definition of smart money, so take it with a grain of salt.
