That just makes it more plausible to me that he is meeting with Herman.  Sorry, dude isn't gonna come to Texas to recruit and not take advantage of the opportunity to meet with a guy he is considering taking a job with just because he is here recruiting for his current employer.....

    He's Multi-tasking!!!!  Me likey

This is the shit I've never understood.  When the HC fires to save his ass, he's hiring guys that know about it.  They know that they'll live or die by his next 1 or 2 seasons, and if a negative result (which is routinely the case), he's gone and so are they.  If you're a single guy, no family and no ties, then fuck it sure sign me up.  Most of the top guys in position to get hired though, I'm guessing they've got families and shit.  If you're joining a coach with a 5 yr contract and he fucks up by year 2 or 3, so be it, that's just shitty luck.  But when you know there's a good chance of turnover in a year or two, how attractive is that position to most of the best available??

They know that the bar might be pretty low if their predecessor just got fired for doing a shitty job, so if they come in and kick ass, it's gonna be noticed....and if the HC is canned, it's possible they might replace said coach, and if said coach is still around, other teams may notice the great job they do and hire them away to a better job/situation.

Friend of mine from the Boston Herald said that Steve Belichek wants to be the college version of his dad and doesn't want to live in his shadow in the NFL. His wife is from Round Rock and he and Tom Herman have been friends for 10+ years. Would be a logical starting point as he builds more college connections and a reputation. Only concern is ability to recruit.

Yes, but can he air up a football?

You're telling me you don't think this guy has sources?

Look, I don't know enough about this guy to be sure that his sources for the above tweet were his eyeballs. So I'm going to have to assume that his sources are posters on his own internet board. Here's a list of things that he says his sources have told him lately:

    1. Todd Orlando didn't adjust his defensive scheme to suit the talent, players were not developed, and he was not a high level recruiter.
    2. The top two candidates to replace offensive coordinator Tim Beck at Texas are USC's Graham Harrell and LSU's Joe Brady.
    3. Texas football coach Tom Herman has relieved OC Tim Beck and WR coach Drew Mehringer of their duties, while Co-WR coach Corby Meekins has been reassigned. Beck will have a non-OC role. Mehringer is fired. Meekins will have an off-the-field position.
    4. Tim Beck could survive until the bowl game. There is a chance Beck is reassigned and remains the quarterback coach.
    5. Longhorn co-defensive coordinator Craig Naivar is expected to take Orlando’s position from now until the bowl game.

I heard the same things from my sources right here on surly.

    That'll be $9.95 please

Went to a friend’s wedding in Beaumont back in the day - only time I’ve ever been there in my life.  Us guys went to the Yellow Rose strip club, as the night wore in one of the locals got a bit out of hand and two cops showed up, walked in the club wearing cowboy hats AND aviator sunshades - I shit you not even a little.....sunshades.....at midnight...thought I was in a Jackie Gleason, Burt Reynolds movie -

Sounds like a Corey Hart song...
