What's crazy is they had to redo the golaketravis.com/waterlevel site to fix the bar graph after it breached 700', and now they put the info-graphic up top for the flood levels.

Looking at their historical data, the period from 1965 - 1982 had no significant droughts or floods.  At least 17 years of relatively "normal" lake levels.

    32 hours in hell?

    /thread.

Well... we landed at around the 20-hour point, then debriefed for a few hours, then since I was the junior officer in the squadron and it was 9/11, I had to run around base setting up a roll call for that evening that ran several more hours. No idea how long I slept after that.

Serious question but what does the B-2 not do that we need to do?

Dynamic targeting of any kind. It doesn't have a targeting pod on it like the B-1, B-52, and F-15E, so it's really only good for flying a fully pre-planned mission. Add on that we only have 20 of them, and far fewer than that combat-ready at any given time, so they can't really fly sustained combat ops from a deployed location like a squadron of any other bombers would. They're pretty much only good for flying those long-duration missions from Missouri on night one, then they need a break. Not a flexible option at all in today's much more dynamic battlefield.

  4. Lived there 2000-2001. Can confirm that weird motherfuckers lived there, and I was not one and didn't fit in, so I moved on with my life. Still get my hair cut at the barber shop downstairs occasionally, so I hope that institution lives on somehow.
