I've been glad to see the other Texas publications (247, IT) rightfully call out Ketchum for that dumbass article. With Anwar carrying water for Herman so often, I honestly wonder whether that article was nothing more than an attempt to take heat off Herman.
Thinking about increasing my reputation as an "insider" by posting inane shit like "y'all will NEVER guess what I just heard" then going completely silent until the next big news piece breaks, after which I'll triumphantly proclaim that I was in the know all along
Je'lin Samuels commits to SMU.
Hamilton says Texas (and aggy) were going to offer tonight and both will likely still extend an offer. Says it's far from over.
Wasn't replying to you, I was replying to the idea that there will be a significant number of players interested in transferring into this program (given its current state)
The comparison to rearing a child doesn't really hold when you consider that players could have (and would have) dipped out of the program en masse if Herman had told them to sit down and shut up like so many of y'all are pussy rubbing to the thought of. Plus it would have been a terrible look on the university and would have made it really difficult to attract top talent in the future (for those who think we'd be better off if 95% of the current team transferred).
I don't have a Rivals sub so I'm getting this secondhand from someone on IT, but apparently Ketchum is saying that LJ Johnson is committing to aggy this week
I believe it, but regardless how one feels about the EOT, reneging on the discussions this summer would be a terrible look in the eyes of future recruits and would be an extremely easy target for negative recruiting.
Looking at that Twitter conversation, I think today's events may have broken Nahlin
This could be the case, but is there any actual evidence that the team has "abandoned" him in any significant way? I do agree it's not a great look optics-wise but from what I've read it seems like the team is still supportive of Ehlinger; not like he's being shunned for staying on the field for the Eyes. Now whether they're supportive of the head coach...
Herman has definitely lost the team (and I'm not sure he ever really got them back after the Iowa State loss last year), but I'm not sure how the players not staying on the field for the Eyes plays into that. Not like the discussion surrounding the Eyes is somehow Herman's fault.
But if Nahlin is also saying that Herman's status is imperiled by BMDs being upset about players not participating in the Eyes...well that's almost certainly accurate.
Well we would have to hire another OL coach and I'm not sure the list of quality OL coaches who are willing to change employers mid-season is very long
