From scouring Reddit, the Orange Crush 35RT may be a decent choice, but I've never played an Orange amp.  I just want something to practice more complex looping where I can use the effects loop so the tone remains unchanged

I've seen people say they love the 35RTand also seen people who say they hate it.

If you can play loud I would get the Monopice, which is the same as a Harley Benton 15W.

I also think you might be able to hack a looper into your signal with one of your existing amps using a line out and a powered speaker with the looper in-between, if it's just for practice.

I will say that I have the Yamaha THR II and I love it. It’s sounds fantastic, compatible with my old Line 6 G10 relay with no significant lag.

Well, I broke down and bought a THR10ii. It'll go on my desk so can noodle around in-between meetings. Should get to me in a week.

I read that the gen 2 doesn't sound as good as the original THRs but you can fiddle around with the settings to get them to sound close to the original.

  3. I need some help getting some files off an old iPhone.

A long time ago, I downloaded some videos from YouTube of some bootleg music performances. I use some gray market app that I side loaded onto my phone to do the download. That app has long since stopped being supported, and the app was all in Japanese.

Those videos have now been deleted off of YouTube.

With the iPhone being a closed architecture, is there a way that I can get to the folder where that app saved those video files?

If not, what's the best way for me to capture the audio coming out of the headphone jack? I tried plugging the headphone jack into the mic jack of my laptop and it sounded like total crap.

Suggestions on loopers. I have a ditto. Need more but don't want to spend a ton of time learning.

I've heard a lot of good things about the loop station.

I'm looking to buy a DigiTech Trio+ in the near future. It's a looper and more.

You play a chord progression into it for four or eight bars, it learns your rhythm and your chord progression and gives you a backing bass and drum track.

I’m not sure it’s worth the effort to even try. It looks like someone scavenged it for parts. Who knows if it even works. It could be fun if you got it got free, but you could also have a $99 paperweight. I will say that I have the Yamaha THR II and I love it. It’s sounds fantastic, compatible with my old Line 6 G10 relay with no significant lag.

That's probably wise. You know, I might throw them a $20 offer and see what they say.

The THR amps really do sound awesome for their size, although I have no real need for it. But then again it doesn't really take up much space. I saw a guy compare the sound between the THR10ii and the X, and the THR10x actually sounded better. Could be a lot of different factors though, like settings and mic placement.

I just bought a Mustang gtx100 (apologies to the tube snobs). I've yet to play around with it, but it looks cool.

  6. This is more of an electronics question. There is busted up Yamaha THR10x for sale on eBay $99. It's one of those desktop practice amps with some pretty cool metal tones. It's missing the DC power input and battery. I could probably talk them down to 80 bucks.

You can get them used all day for about $225.

Is it even worth $145 to get it and install a new battery in DC input? I guess I don't know how hard of a job this is.

If someone here buys it, I wouldn't mind at all. As long as someone gets some good use out of it. I see it as more of a project. I don't really need another amp.

Not my music. My friend's daughter made a song that's getting a couple of million views on youtube and a million on Spotify, which I think is pretty good?

Sounds like a mix of MBV with White Pony era Deftones.

Well, my friend's daughter got signed. She's getting written up in websites and magazines.

And she has a new video out. Good for her. Her college plans got derailed but in a good way.

  8. Check out this solo from early Shawn Lane, before he gained so much weight that he had to sit down on stage.

The song is 80s cover band trash and I hate the singer, but Shawn's solo is outstanding.

You know, it's not as terrible as I was led to believe. It's not a great movie. It's not even a good movie. There were weird editing choices, and for some reason they chose to overdub the villain's lines without any regard to whether or not his lips were moving. You'll hear him say lines and his lips are stone still.

But it was a competent movie, mildly enjoyable. Dakota Johnson was really good. Sydney Sweeney, bless her heart, she still can't act but she has good screen presence.
