If KSU is rumored to the PAC Kansas already has a home in the BIG or ACC.

Yep. That tells me it's not wish casting, but realistic expectations. Reporters throwing shit at the wall wouldn't come up with K-State.

  2. Might as well jump in before closing time...I was holding out hope for a 10 coach rollout to prove last night was a masterful troll job, but alas, 9 names said it was real. Nevertheless, Sark and CDC did show themselves to be nothing if not teachable. Now we have what looks like a nice blend of talent, names, experience, and potential to really have a lot of fun around here for a change. Hook 'Em!!

Filoni has addressed that since her appearance in live action because there was confusion, naturally. She appeared in white at the very end of Rebels and it was always assumed it was right after Yavin. Dave recently said "it was possible" that it occurred after the events of Mando 2. That was before the investor announcement of the new Ahsoka show, so it seems like a a foregone conclusion now.

That already happened. I feel like it happened between CW and Rebels, just based on her character change and the white light sabers, but, on screen, I can point only to Ezra manipulating time to save her from dying at the end of Twilight of the Apprentice.

Methinks you’re overthinking it. It all looks grey to me, and it’s gotta be hard to color match between animation and live action.

No, he's got it exactly right. Filoni has made explicit comparisons between Gandolf and Ahsoka many times. Ahsoka the Grey and Ahsoka the White are very deliberate concepts. I'm sort of expecting a "resurrection" of sorts that leads to a character change for her before she reunites with Sabine. I agree that nothing is throwaway for him.

  6. I was commenting to the wife that shows like this walk a fine line with the acting where it's hard to know if a character is bad at hiding their actions in the story, or if the actor isn't up to the job. Same with the dialog. It's not until more of the story is revealed that you can look back and realize that it was story driven, not bad acting.

    Last night on 60 Minutes:

Scott Pelley: Is the Fed just going to print money?

Neel Kashkari: That's literally what Congress has told us to do. That's the authority that they've given us, to print money and provide liquidity into the financial system. And that's how we do it. We create it electronically. And then we can also print it with the Treasury Department, print it so that you can get money outta your ATM.

I really know fuckall about central banks and monetary policy, but that kind of explicit language tells me they are scared shitless about the problems in the system and are very afraid of deflation. This whole thing could be a lot worse than it may appear on the surface. Covid was just the proverbial black swan that lands on the house of cards.

  8. So, after writing a heartfelt, soul-searching foreword for a book that finally tells the truth about poor ol' CAB's trials and tribulations, Panther Steelcock personally helps Briles continue his cheating ways. I truly wonder, in his mind, is he complicit in the cheating or does he really view himself as a "relative" to these kids helping them out of some sort of situation? If it is cheating, does he equivocate it by telling himself that everyone accuses Briles of doing it anyway?

I just can't tell if all of these people are cynical bullshitters winking at each other all the while or if they're truly this blind to reality.

    Highly recommend Fleabag.

Netflix has another of her shows, "Crashing" that's fun if you like Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The premise might be a little too precious with the twenty-something communal living, but she plays a similar type of character with snappy dialogue.

  10. My favorite part of every Surly thread is when Derka posts a long, somewhat unpopular opinion, then the utterly predictable full page of people telling him to shut up and predicting a Derka-ing. Then, to everyone's immense satisfaction, he does respond and they get to snarl and rage for another 2 pages about the thread getting Derka'd and making it all about himself.

Another plot point advancement from episode 2... Jaime brings yet another Valyrian steel sword to Winterfell.

Count of Valyrian steel weapons now at Winterfell:

    - Longclaw with Jon

    - Dagger with Arya

    - Oathkeeper with Brienne

    - Heartsbane was with Sam, now with Jorah

    - Widow’s Wail with Jaime

So all Valyrian steel introduced in the show is now at Winterfell

I don't know if it will ever show up again, but there is the one Ned got from Dayne at the Tower of Joy. He is pointedly shown leaning it at the foot of the bed. No clue where it ended up after that.

  12. It appears that Dany isn't a bookfag because she apparently wasn't too impressed that Jon is a dragonrider. I think it was stated somewhere that it's a thing in the show's universe. She very much questions the validity of Jon's claim when that alone should have put the issue to rest. I suppose she may become educated to that factoid later to help convince her.

I don’t understand why people think that was a big deal. He keeps saying he’s not Bran anymore. He doesn’t give a shit that that guy threw Bran out of the window. If anything, he’s good with it because now he’s the three eyed raven.

Totally agree. I think Jaime is going to be Bran's hand ( lolz, it works on several levels) somehow.

    You don't like the Hound?

You make a good point that most of the main characters aren't that interesting. Jaime is, though. He's going through some shit, that's all. Didn't like Brienne at first, but she too is interesting.

I don't get the twist wherein Cercei's Hand asks Bronn to kill Jaime. They're asshole buddies. Surely they could have found a better way to turn Jaime against Cercei, because Bronn will spill the beans.

Yeah, I can't figure out if they're trying to set him up or grossly miscalculating his greed. Then again maybe the audience is being set up and Bronn really is just an asshole.
