Pretty obvious Chip just assumed Thompson would return with Beuchele and Rising leaving and reported it as fact.

As always, FCB. What a piece of shit.

He may have had the right info, he was just too much of a prick to make sure it was OK to report it.

  2. I remember that 3rd qtr run play well because I credited it to Watson's vision. Now that it's pointed it out, I see that it was intended to bounce outside all along. Rodriguez barely helps on the DT at all and moves forward to get the LB which helps add yards to the end of the run. To the OP's point, the misdirection is what froze the DT and the LB to allow Shack and Rodriguez to get to them. It's the sort of play that Texas got gashed with all year long. Very satisfying to see it work in our favor for once.

  3. We have nowhere near the same kind of year without him. Time and again he fought for extra yards to keep drives going. It was the kind of thing I'd been wanting to see from a Texas back for ages. He'll be missed next year. Hook 'Em Tre!

You don't think our coaches talked him out of going? Do you think he decided not to go on his own?

I'm sure they talked him out of it, they wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't. They continue to recruit until signing day. That's why they're in the living rooms of current longtime commits right now. I'm talking about the strong-arm tactics hinted at by rival fans like the ASU one above. He called it "shrewd and ruthless" and that he was "scared" into cancelling. The other guy said Adimora "panicked". How you gonna threaten a kid thinking about flipping? That would just convince him to go.

  5. I've never understood the "they scared him out of his visit" conjecture when it comes to true flip threats. What are you threatening him with?...pulling the offer of a really good player that you want?...that's already considering going to a different school? Doesn't sound too smart.

It's just message board chatter that makes fans feel better about missing out.

I thought there was conflicting accounts from the neighbors on if she was yelling "Open up" before opening his door, but it reads now like 2 of the neighbors heard multiple cops yelling that, so perhaps after the shooting?  But still doesn't quite make sense.

Alyssa Kinsey, Jean’s next-door neighbor who was so close she shared a wall with him, wrote on Facebook, “This happened in the apartment next to me, to my very kind and friendly neighbor. I am absolutely heartbroken. Please, please keep his family in your prayers and send love and light their way. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain they are in.” She shared a GoFundMe page for Jean’s family. It reads, “We are mourning the loss of our brother Botham Jean. He was a great Christian example and an inspiration to us all. We are asking for donations to cover funeral arrangements, his family’s travel expenses, and anything else they may encounter. He will be missed.”

In the interview with Heavy, Kinsey said, “I was talking to my boyfriend, heard a shot, then some sort of commotion. Sounded like yelling/running/some loudness so I jumped up, ran to the door, looked out the peep hole, didn’t see anything at that moment but I could hear a woman calling 911 and hyperventilating.”

Kinsey gave Heavy this video showing the hallway in the apartment.

Kinsey told Heavy that she saw the female officer pacing in the apartment hallway. She heard the officer say the apartment number and the words “was shot,” but she adds, “she was pacing away from me at that point.”

After hearing the shooting, Kinsey says, “I then posted on nextdoor app as a warning. I did not hear pounding or yelling before the shot. These halls are echoey so I feel like I’d hear it but maybe not.”

When Kinsey heard the gunshot at her neighbor's front door Thursday night, she assumed it was a domestic dispute.

"I didn't hear any knocking or yelling beforehand, just the shot," she said. "And then the woman's voice calling 911."

Police didn't indicate that anyone had witnessed the shooting, but two other women who live on the second floor near where the shooting happened said they heard a lot of noise late Thursday.

"It was, like, police talk: 'Open up! Open up!'" 20-year-old Caitlin Simpson said.

Yazmine Hernandez, 20, was studying with Simpson when they heard the commotion.

"We heard cops yelling," she said, "but otherwise had no idea what was going on."

One of the neighbors claimed not to hear anything before the shots.

Yes.  Details reported from Jeans family lawyer claim there was a noise complaint issued from Officer Guyger's apt during the day on the day of the shooting (when Officer Guyger was purportedly working).  The also claim witness testimony that Guyger shouted at Jean to open the door and when he did, she shot him.

Muchas gracias. I'll go back a few pages and catch up.

I imagine the evidence on that will stay a muddled mess.

What will NOT be a muddled mess will be her story, wherein she was confronted by a rage-filled, drug-fueled, giant black man, and she had no choice but to defend herself against the hulking, attacking monster.  If only he would have obeyed her lawful commands, he'd be alive today.

Are there some implying, as you seem to be, that she was not on the wrong floor by accident? I'm not asking for a re-hash, I'll go back and catch up on the thread if there's any discussion of that point. I'm just not interested in 2 days of back and forthing on the Bernard issue in general.

Goddamn...that home opener against Ark St nearly did me in. What a pathetic showing that was. We barely squeaked by and I kinda remember us trying a desperate onside kick and not recovering it.

Pretty sure I got thrown out of the lake Mcqueeney lodge that night

Yeah, but Everclear "margaritas" out of a styro-foam cup'll have that effect on just about anybody.

That one is missing the second part...if you are going to be stupid.

"You better be lucky" may not be that obvious to most people. It's mostly a Tex-Mex saying that's used as a threat. As in: "You better be lucky I don't beat your ass!"
