  1. This happened a few years ago…

According to online court records, Hamil pleaded guilty to resisting an officer, obstruction, eluding, and operating a vehicle with defective equipment. All of those charges are misdemeanors.

As a result, the state agreed to dismiss the assault and battery charge.

Hamil received a four-year deferred sentence and will have to pay a $50 fine on each count.“

My biggest issue with Colorado has always been the dryness. Love visiting, but always forget until I get there that I can't sleep at night because there is no damn humidity.

Been going to Colorado every summer for the past six years.  Prefer driving because I enjoy the drive and like talking my fly fishing gear, cooler and other stuff.  Last 3 years I’ve taken a humidifier; it’s in the living room during the day and in the bedroom at night.  Makes the time in the Airbnb more enjoyable.

3 Nixons, 3 Siekos. One fit bit. I wear one everyday.
Basic Nixon for every day use, easy to read display not that I have the eyes of a late 40s dude. I can track time on site visits with hard stops without getting distracted. (My clients with Apple watches drive me nuts as they check time, get texts and then get distracted and are not present in short order. I can check time in the middle of the night without a screen waking me up fully. I have daily alarms so I can pivot from meditation in AM to work. Timer for gym workouts without looking at my phone. I also try to strictly limit screen time on weekends so a watch is essential.

Nixon surf watch with tide charts for fishing and surfing trips.

The other watches rotate in depending on mood and level of dress.

    Loved the Nixon watches

  4. Bismuth is a good replacement for lead as it deforms like lead upon impact.  Deformed shot and bullets are more effective in bring down game than non-deformed loads (steel).  Bismuth is non-toxic but is more expensive than lead, thus the uproar from the righties.

Stupid, but taking a break from beer to lose some weight. I know, stupid.

    I always liked ranch waters.

BIL uses Don Julio. It’s ok.

Found Fortaleza and El Tesoro on the internets. They are good to sip or mix IMO

    Am I doing it right?

I want to get some Anejos / extra anejos but also don’t want to drop > $100 on an unknown.

I'm not a tequila expert nor a regular consumer of ranch water, but my thoughts are as follow.

    • Use a white/blanco tequila for ranch water
    • While I wouldn't use the cheapest of the cheap stuff for ranch water, margaritas or other tequila based cocktails, I wouldn't use top of the line tequila either.  As long as it's 100% blue agave, you should be fine.
    • I agree, Don Julio is ok, nothing special.  I'll have a shot of Milagro - Silver at my neighborhood Mexican restaurant because they don't have mezcal.  It's a nice, clean tasting tequila.

Dos hombres is a dogshit product. Please dont judge mezcal based on that bottle. Its basically casamigos

Sir, I'm going to have to ask you retract that statement.  That there bottle of mezcal is signed and numbered!!

  7. Not a restaurant, but there is a famous torta stand in southern Condesa that’s pretty good, La Esquina de Chilaquil, 139 Alfonso Reyes.

La Chinampa was a restaurant/taqueria that was pretty good.  Nothing fancy by American standards, but a decent place to get a taco.

A lot of Argentine restaurants in CDMX, we went to one in Roma for convenience, it was really good and then another one that was close to our apartment out of convenience for a snack.

Went to the infamous Pujol in Polanco, mixed feelings on that place.

Mexico is a country where I’ve found the best food is from a cheap, humble stand or restaurant.  Had some damn fine tacos de canasta outside the Metro station in Chapultepec Park, spent a couple bucks for two people.

And if you are in La Condesa on a Friday, they have a Friday market with lots of nice treats to eat.

    Buen Provecho!
