  1. I love Sam. Kid is a good QB and competitor.  But he doesn't block or play defense, and he plays on a crappy team. He's not the one losing games for us. He's just failing to make up for all the other deficiencies.   That said, if we have a better QB who can take the job next year, I'm all for it.  I hope he comes back.  The team is better with him.

If they're willing to hire Cristobal, I don't think they're too concerned about NCAA rules

It's not so much that they are concerned about them.  More that they don't want to invite the NCAA to scrutinize them. Which would happen with Freeze hire.

  3. Malzahn is a good coach; he went head to head with Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and Florida in recruiting and brought in top ten classes every year.  Only place he screwed up was O line recruiting. Sound familiar?   This year, however, was a mess. Recruiting fell apart for the first time. I'm surprised he didn't get another year, but once that spiral starts, it is hard to reverse without a change.

No way Phil Knight lets Cristobal leave for an Under Armour school unless he's totally out on the guy. Steele rumors may be to keep recruits on board. Would be a crazy hire.

Think it comes down to Freeze and Napier, maybe Sark. Freeze is the choice if they can stomach the off field history.

Auburn isn't  going to hire Freeze.  They have enough NCAA trouble with Pearl.  Sarkasian maybe, ugg.

  5. Yeah, Kevin Steele ain't happening.  They want Cristobal, but he's just playing them for a new contract at Oregon. Once they finally figure that out, they'll hire Napier.

What a shitshow.  Kudos to them for doing it before signing day though.  They will likely regret that.

  6. Auburn thinks they are getting Cristobal.  Who lost to California and Oregon State this year.  I don't know why they want him but he's just leveraging Auburn's interest into a long term contract with Oregon after a crappy year.  Auburn's not going to get an established coach. Nobody is going to want to leave a good gig and go to a place where the main rivals are Bama, Georgia, and LSU.  Malzhan did a great job there, and held his own recruiting against those guys, at least until this year, which is a dumpster fire.

Auburn will be stuck getting some hot coach from a small school or an assistant, somebody like Billy Napier or Tony Elliot. We know those hires always work out.

I was hoping at this point we could dispense with the OT, and just let the captains settle it mano y mano.

  8. Leach caused chaos at Washington State for a while. It's his MO.  But they were such a dumpster fire, there were willing to wait it out.  He may not have that luxury at MSU, where expectations are so much higher.  I really hate for them to be melting down like this right before we play them.  😀

I will say that I hope he gets run off.  The guy is crazy, but give him time, and he is dangerous.

There are no greater cowards. None.

Geez, Brisket, you are so melodramatic. You act like you have some great cause.  You don't have shit for a cause. You are aligning with the same old corruptocrats who have been enriching themselves on the government dole for decades.  This election shouldn't be close. I have many conservative friends. Many if not most of them are tired of Trump's act. He's the most narcissistic guy I've ever seen.  Almost all of them will stick with him because he's better than the alternative, and they feel like he's a least on their side. All you had to do was nominate somebody who could plausible pretend to be a moderate left of center guy. And you would have won easily. Instead you nominate somebody who is corrupt even by Washington standards of corruption. Somebody who picks as his running mate a politician who is  somehow left of Bernie Sanders.  This is going to be a close election because you guys have picked a guy who spent his vice presidency vacuuming up millions of dollars from Russia, China, and the Ukraine and using his drug addicted son as the bagman.  And selling out America in the process.  If you guys lose, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Your candidate stinks and your platform has been hijacked by the far left,  and has zero appeal to the middle class. And if you win, you haven't won a great victory, you have just elected a guy who will continue Washington corruption as usual.

All laws are just a handshake agreement. Seriously. The rule of law is that fragile. As soon as someone or a group of someones who is powerful enough refuses to play by them, they’re dead. So there are no “bedrock” principles.

And as for the Constitution, it is not a foundational document. Rather, it is built on a foundation of enlightenment ideas and ideals - the rights of man, natural law, all sorts of concepts along those lines. But it’s all about what you believe. Do you believe that men have inherent rights? Do you believe that rights are only granted by the powerful? Do you believe that the only rule is the rule of might? All are constructs that people have believed.

Our system here is completely fragile. All it takes to kill it is to refuse to play by the rules and norms the system has established. The constitution is a piece of parchment, only as powerful as the willingness of the powerful to be bound by it.

I oppose the current effort to kill it, so I oppose Trumpism. It’s an easy call for me, it was before he was even nominated.

I actually agree with this. The 1st and 2nd amendment mean nothing if they are regulated and excepted out of existence. The problem with your view is that you want the Supreme Court to act as a super legislature and interpret laws as they wish they were written rather than how they actually are written. If Joe Biden wins, and the democrats take the Senate, they will appoint 4 left wing Justices who will do exactly that.  And that is a recipe for revolution.

Care to elaborate on your NC assertion? Polls haven’t moved much unless you’re looking at garbage like Trafalgar.

There's just some things you can't recover from. Like tweeting a picture of yourself cooking burgers on a gas grill, and telling your N.C. constituents that you are

    barbecuing.

  12. In RCP with R's up 45 to 46 with 9 tossups.   You can book the 45 D & 46 R's

Not really tossups for the R's--S.C, Montana, Georgia   You can book them.

Not really tossups for the D's-Maine, Minnesota

That leaves Arizona, Michigan, N.C. , Iowa

N.C. was in the bag for D's, 50/50 now and trending R. What a dumbshit Cunningham is.

    Arizona-trending R, but likely D.

Michigan. R has a shot, good candidate,  but probable D

49 each and comes down to Iowa and N.C.    True 50/50's,  but I think N.C. goes R now.
