I was bored. Projected pitching staff not including transfers with stats from last season. I will have to track the transfer stats down if I get bored again.

That returning core, with the transfers coming in and about 2-3 impact freshman arms will be one stout staff.

Damn. Only one I’ve remotely cared about.

Threw hard, but couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn and never really liked his awe-shucks demeanor. Sure, in a perfect world I would have liked to see him after about 2 more years of getting Weiner’d, but I’m willing to bet we have at least 3 more “college-ready” arms coming with the incoming Freshman class.

Volantis, Harrison, plus Johnny Wholestaff is a very solid weekend rotation.

Texas should never have to settle for a Johnny Wholestaff game.  Now that Schloss is settled in, we should be at least four 6-7 inning type-starters deep with three to four 2-4 inning shut-down relievers.  We had the relievers this year, just not the starting depth.

I'm still salty about letting Freddie scoot to LA, which was what really fucked us. Obviously wouldnt help with the bullpen meltdowns, but he was the heart of the Braves. Still, even in '21 we had a losing record at the end of July. Front office gonna have to make some moves.

Freddie leaving was a blow, but I think the window officially closed when Fried walked with Anderson never getting back to form.

Also, all those club-friendly contracts aren’t really bargains with Acuna and Albies missing huge chunks of games putting them at a per game average of what they probably should be at anyway.

    Or what?

Nico 2.0 written all over that.

The smart thing for her to do if she really cares about a championship (and they don’t rally this year) is to say she’ll take a pay cut if they commit that money to bats.

Nico hasn’t shown he is good at football though. This chick is the best pitcher in softball. If she asks for more, she’ll get it…either at Tech or somewhere else after seeing what she single-handedly did for Tech.

I mean, if we get the top three players in the portal, that would be pretty good...

Farber from TXST would be an acceptable consolation prize if we miss out on the other 2 top SSs.

  7. We basically just have Borba, ARod, Mendoza and I guess Farmer/Williams coming back with any offensive production.
I think we are fine with Borba at 3B (or 1B). I can live with him not being a defensive wizard if he hits .300 with 20 bombs (which he should do with just a little improvement).
Rodriguez and Mendoza are .350 hitters next year and not really sure what to project for Farmer/Williams.  Farmer could take another step and be a .300 hitter with above average defense and a little pop or could totally flop. Does Williams stick with just football or is he going to be a superstar and the next Bo Jackson??
We need to portal at a minimum 1 stud OFer, 1 infielder (preferably a SS) and absolutely have to get a catcher unless our 3 portal pickups are all-Americans, then we can afford to roll with Chamberlain.

As far a pitching, just get another Spencer type Friday/Saturday guy and 1-2 more Ruger/Burns guys and I think we’ll be good. Really think the Wiener-effect helps us with the guys already on the roster.
